About this apartment rental
Just renovated guest quarters in a modern home in the exclusive Montecito section of Santa Barbara. Private entrance. Easy street parking.
Over 400 square feet. Steam room shower, mini-refrigerator, microwave, queen bed / real mattress, 65' Samsung flat screen TV and Blu-Ray DVD player.
Free wireless internet.
Private patio area.
Guests must descend a dozen stairs to enter.
No air conditioning. Nor is there in the main house where we live. Rare in Santa Barbara houses due to its coastal location. This was never an issue for years but last few summers have had some record-breaking heat. We provide a powerful Dyson tower fan and an auxiliary fan which will make room comfortable if there is a “heatwave”. This is a rare rare occurrence.
House features views of Montecito Peak and is in a remote tranquil canyon.
The Pacific Ocean (beautiful Butterfly Beach) - 3 miles.
Closest restaurants / ATM / food market / pharmacy (Coast Village Road or the local's Upper Village) - both 2.5 miles
Downtown Santa Barbara (shopping, movies, museums, dozens of restaurants) - 3 miles.
Santa Barbara Mission - 4 miles.
Westmont College - 1.2 miles.
UCSB and Santa Barbara Airport - 12 miles.
Wine County (Santa Ynez Valley) - 30 miles.
Montecito is home to 'the Dude', Oprah, Sonny Crockett (if you are old enough to remember) and can be yours for the week or weekend.

Had a wonderful stay at Chris and Lisa's place. The steam setting in the shower was a nice treat. Beautiful views of the canyon walkig down the street. Also, hosts were very accommodating when I locked myself out.

My son and I stayed in this lovely VRBO for a soccer ID camp. The location to Westmont was perfect! The place was super quiet and comfortable. The hosts we very easy to reach and work with!

This place was perfect for my surprise weekend getaway for my wife and I. The place was exactly as described and the pictures pretty much summed up the space.
A few notes from our trip, hope they are helpful.
Although the property is on top of a hill that has an incredible view, the studio really doesn’t have a direct view of the valley below.
The room doesn’t have AC, but we were very comfortable with the fan that was provided. I typically have my room freezing, but the temp wasn’t a factor at all.
The bathroom was great, this was not noted or I don’t think it was on the description, but the shower has steam room option! Loved it!!!
We Ubered to State St. and the Santa Barbara Bowl. Spent about $16 each way and was well worth it. Driving up that hill at night can be challenging, very little light.
The hosts, Chris and Lisa, were responsive and accommodating. We had everything we needed, but they were more than willing to help if we did need anything else. Super easy check in and check out.
Lastly, if you do stay here, don’t leave any food out, we had a small issue with ants. Totally our fault, but def worth noting.
I would highly recommend this place and we would certainly come back if we plan to come to this neck of the woods again.

Lisa and Chris are such wonderful host! They communicated effectively street roadwork that would have affected our stay, adjusting dates and refund in a timely manner. It is such a cute studio in a quiet and beautiful area away from the crowded ocean front areas but close enough so travel time is kept to a minimum. Top notch hospitality and accommodation. We will definitely keep them in mind on our next visit to Santa Barbara.

Our short stay in Montecito was made all the better by the warm and cozy accommodations. We had everything we needed and were just minutes from all that Santa Barbara has to offer. We would definitely return to this wonderful spot tucked away in the hills.

Beautiful location in an attached Studio, overlooking the hills of Montecito. We had perfect weather throughout our stay. Clean and simple decor. Very cozy and comfortable bed and oversized leather sofa. Large bathroom with a skylight and steam shower. Entry to the Studio is accessed via down stairs of 15+ wood railroad ties with small rocks, so some caution for anyone with a disability or difficulty walking up or down stairs. The host Lisa was available when ever needed and was a great host. We will definitely come back here when we come through the Santa Barbara area again, looking forward to the next visit.

Absolutely beautiful little spot tucked away in the canyon! Ubers had some difficulty finding the location so just plan for extra time if that’s how you’ll be getting around. Great experience!

This is a great place to stay. This was a short trip as I work as a NCAA Official and had a series @ UCSB. Quick access to State St. and only about 15mins from UCSB. Worked out perfectly!

This was a great spot to unwind after busy days in a beautiful city. Very clean and comfortable, and incredibly peaceful. I am picky about beds, but this one was splendid, as was the shower and really the whole shebang. Easy to communicate with the host. I had a very random situation come up, and she was immediately responsive and followed up to make sure all was still good. I was very comfortable here solo, so thank you for such a great stay.

My husband took me to Santa Barbara for a little birthday getaway & we really enjoyed the privacy of this little studio. We went into town during the day and part of afternoon /evening & when we'd return for the night we definitely enjoyed watching movies on the nice size TV! One night we even had pizza delivered. The studio was very clean & cozy. Overall it was a perfect weekend. We would love to return for another getaway weekend.

We loved this little place in Montecito. We wanted to spend our honeymoon exploring Santa Barbara and the surrounding areas. It was a quick drive from town and close to hiking trails with it's own little outdoor space. Couldn't have been happier with our stay.

For a quick trip, was perfect to have access to Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez and wine region - easily accessible and enough amenities to make you feel comfortable. Bed was so nice and peaceful property made it super enjoyable to have a slow start in the morning. Access to property is down a flight of uneven wooden railroad ties, so not ideal for people. not steady on their feet or late evenings in high heels …well lit for all others and beautiful garden setting.
We’ll remember this spot for future, thank you for sharing your home.

We enjoyed our weekend away in Montecito (near Santa Barbara) very much. Great communication with owners. Nice and private. Very quiet neighborhood, very private, lush yard. The stairs were a bit of an obstacle as one of us recently had a knee replacement and the railroad tie stairs lean forward a bit more than was strictly comfortable, but we managed. Everything else was fine and we had a grand time.

I was in the area for 2 days of hiking, and it was so lovely to have somewhere beautiful and quiet to stay and unwind after a day on the trails.
I bought a bunch of prepared foods at some local shops, which I kept in the mini-fridge, so I didn't have to go out to restaurants to eat (not that restaurants are bad - I just wanted to stay off my feet once I was done hiking!).
I was grateful that there were some first aid supplies in the bathroom - I ended up needing to tape some gauze around a minor injury, and that came in handy.
