About this house rental
A single storey barn conversion located in a small village near to Norwich. The barn is located within the garden of our home and has ample parking and terraces to front and back for al fresco dining. The interior is light and airy - yet full central heating ensures it's warm and toasty in the winter months. The bedroom has a deluxe king-sized bed, bedside tables with lights, digital radio and chest of drawers, with an ensuite shower room. The large living area has 2 sofas (1 sofa bed), TV (free view channels plus radio) and French doors leading onto front terrace and parking and back terrace with table and chairs for a quiet drink as the sun sets over the fields. The fully fitted galley kitchen comprises - Hob/oven with extractor fan, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and combined washing machine and tumble drier. There is ample crockery, cutlery, pans etc, also a microwave and toaster so you can collect a ready meal to warm up, have a take out from the local pub or cook up a gourmet dinner for two!
The barn is situated in a small village which is surrounded by rolling countryside yet it is only 7 miles south of the ancient and beautiful cathedral city of Norwich. The immediate area is a haven for wildlife - barn owls, small owls, bats, buzzards, marsh harriers, munjac, Chinese water deer and roe deer, rabbits and hares are all frequently seen and heard (as well as our own cheeky chickens) The famous Wheatfen Nature Reserve is a short walk away (5 minutes drive). The village also has it's own community reserve as well as a staithe and broad with bird hide and footpath leading to the Wherryman's Way, along the River Yare and if you need a little refreshment, the village pub or Post Office with tea room is on hand. Further afield - the coast is a 45 minute drive (Southwold/Winterton) and the North Norfolk coast is an hour away. The area has a wealth of local produce on offer for those who like to "eat local" - with 2 award winning farm shops a 5 minute drive away, a perfect Portuguese Patisserie and a variety of local pubs situated on the nearby River Yare - indeed the award winning Winberri vineyard is just over the back field. We look forward to welcoming you to the Barn at The Well House.

Thank you, Lisa, for making our stay so comfortable. Your barn was spotlessly clean and contained everything we needed for our 2 night stay. We very much appreciated the coffee, tea, sugar, pint of milk and Easter eggs you provided for us upon arrival - a lovely, thoughtful touch. We thought your communication was excellent and we thank you for the tips you happily gave about the local bus and attractions. Ours was a very enjoyable stay :)

This excellent property was a delight to visit. The area, close to the Norfolk Broads, is lovely and this property was a wonderful base to explore from.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Barn. Lisa was just a wonderful hostess and was so pleasant to chat with! She gave us many good local tips and suggestions for places to visit, and she couldn’t have made a more comfortable space in the cottage. The bathroom is large & features a lovely rain shower and plenty of hot water. The kitchen is really well-appointed and spacious, and we made three meals there. The cottage is so light and airy with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the views of the pretty flowers in the front and back gardens. We enjoyed meeting Jasper the dog and Lisa’s husband, Ashley as well… and talking to the chickens was an added bonus! Norwich Cathedral is not to be missed, and there are many shops to visit while walking around the downtown area (including the Norwich Market stalls, which feature many different types of prepared foods and fresh fruit and vegetables). We would definitely recommend Lisa’s cottage as a delightful place to stay while exploring the area!

A beautiful, comfortable cottage in gorgeous countryside yet a short drive to the city of Norwich. We were picking strawberries from the field one day and taking in the medieval beauty of Norwich the next - plus coffee and cake - what a fantastic location.
A very comfortable stay.
Thank you!

We have been to Lisa's holiday home before and enjoyed it immensely. This time was no different, it was very comfortable and the facilities excellent. Lovely time there and will go again.

Booked this cottage as we were going on the Norfolk Broads at Wroxham which is about 25 mins away and also only 10 mins from Norwich.
The property was well decorated and kept. Good outside space. Parking was good but getting put on to the main road was tricky. Could do with the hedge being lower to see oncoming traffic.
There are sky lights in the main living area and a back door however no coverings so light streams in early in the summer months.
My daughter was sleeping on the sofa bed and was awake earlier than hoped.
Lisa the host was welcoming and gave clear arrival instructions a couple of days before.
Chickens on site but no Cockerell so no early morning alarm call.

We had a very enjoyable stay at your beautiful barn. It was just what we expected, so close to Norwich only a bus ride away. Local village shop, lovely food at the Ferry House, nature reserves on the doorstep and NT properties plus so the coast. Thank you Lisa for your eggs and rhubarb. We recommend a stay here first class.

Lisa was extremely helpful & knowledgeable about all things Norfolk & was able to suggest places to visit. We wished we’d had longer to explore, but will be looking to re-book soon. Thank you.

Where do we start? We had friendly contact with Lisa prior to arrival with some tips on finding the place and informed her we were bringing our toddler who is under 2. By the time we arrived Lisa had moved furniture to accommodate our travel cot and had even left out some age appropriate books and building blocks which he loved! The place was private, beautiful and spotless with all the amenities we could need for a little break. We had chickens outside the window which our little boy loved and we were a stones throw from all that the area had to offer. To top it off, when we left Lisa handed our boy a little Easter egg which made his weekend! We’ve already said we’ll stay again when we return to the area! Excellent 👍

There are lots of walks from the barn and good road access to places in the area, including the coast.
