We had a lovely, relaxing time. It was just what we needed. Very cute interior design, fresh flowers everywhere. Comfy couch and bedroom, well outfitted kitchen. Sunny dining room. Everything was exactly as Amanda promised. Will return!

The property was close to Acadia-within walking distance to parts of it. The cottage was cozy and well equipped, spotlessly clean and on a very quiet street. The hostess immediately responded to our questions. It was a perfect spot for a couple. I’d stay there again!

My husband and I along with our dog had a lovely stay, great location in terms of getting to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We’d highly recommend staying at Summerwood!

Perfect location in Otter Creek a short hike to the shore in one direction and Cadillac Mountain in the other. The cottage was surrounded by trees and a cool, comfortable retreat after a day of hiking and cycling in Acadia.

We had a great week at Summerwood. Perfect size for two people. The covered porch is perfect for relaxing out of the sun or rain. Wild turkeys roam the backyard. Excellent bird watching.
Plenty of hot water and water pressure.
Loved the skylights inside. Great light.
Hiking trail to Ocean Path is awesome. Easy drive to Park Loop Rd and Carriage Road parking areas.
Overall, a charming cottage that was very comfortable and well situated for exploring the park!
Thanks so much for your hospitality and a lovely place to call home base for the week!!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Summerwood Cottage. The cottage is cozy, charming, and well-appointed — with everything you need to relax and make yourself at home. It’s also conveniently located; major Acadia attractions and hiking trails are just a short drive away. After a day of exploring the park, it was nice coming back to the cottage to chill. (I especially liked the swinging bench on the porch.) Overall, Summerwood Cottage provided the perfect setting for our romantic getaway.

Over all stay was very nice. The cabin was clean and quiet. It location was perfect for us. The only negative was the bed was very high and hard for me to get into. The stool provided was a help.
Overall experience was great and we would definitely do it again. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Excellent clean cottage. Nice amenities
Amanda was very helpful and on top of any issues. Nice location very quiet with Acadia forest surrounding us. Otter creek market was very close. Would recommend to anyone seeking beauty comfort and quiet after a day of sightseeing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Summerwood! Exactly as pictured…..clean, comfortable and quiet! Great location for exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor.

The cottage didn’t match the description. It was in a residential neighborhood, but it was quiet and close to many attractions and trails. Upon entrance there was a strong musty mold odor. Towards the bedroom there is a step down that is tricky. It was marked with a red tape, but that didn’t prevent a dangerous fall.
There were cobwebs and kitchen was not very clean. We had to wash the utensils and cookware before we used them. The microwave was located ridiculously high above the refrigerator and risky to use. The bed is also very high and a hard mattress. Because of the skylight in the bedroom, wear an eye mask if you don’t want wake up at 4:30!
Despite these drawbacks we enjoyed the bird sanctuary provided by the neighbor next us. Lots of songbirds, critters and in back some wild turkeys! The location was close to the loop road and trail’s galore. It was easy to get to Bar Harbor. That’s why overall we enjoyed our first visit to Acadia! Our host was attentive when we first arrived and assisted with the navigation of Spectrum network. I told her about my fall and she agreed maybe a longer piece of red or yellow tape might help. She gave us some tips using the map on the wall to get around. There was also a bees nest in the grill I told her about and she took care of that. On our last day the sun finally came out. I texted the host and requested to check out at 11 instead of 10. She said no, she’d have to pay housekeeping another hour! So we said good bye.

As soon as my spouse and I walked in, it was almost like a magickal getaway! The lighting, the smell, the atmosphere overall was so relaxing and warm and inviting! Amanda had so much prepared and setup for easing into our vacation, getting comfortable, having the little things ready for the morning. The yard is on a forest active with birds and squirrels and other critters - even saw a wild turkey! AMAZING PLACE! Wonderful! Thank you!!!

First time visiting Maine and Acadia, and Summerwood Cottage was simply perfect for our needs. The location is wonderful and everything in the cottage has been thoughtfully considered. It was great to prepare our own meals from time to time, and we found everything we needed was on hand. It was amazing to be able to be in the peace and beauty of Acadia, yet just a short drive from restaurants, etc. in Bar Harbor. We highly recommend this cottage and would love to return one day!

We had a great stay, it rained a lot during our stay but that didn’t stop us from exploring this beautiful area. The cottage was exactly what we were looking for, a cozy place to stay after busy days hiking.
The location was very convenient to access Acadia and Bar Harbor, it is well equipped, and perfect place to relax. We plan to come back.

My husband and I love to explore national parks, so we booked this cottage for our visit to Acadia NP. The cottage is in a wonderful location, close to Bar Harbor and ANP, so getting around the island of Mount Desert was a breeze. The cottage was clean, comfortable couch and bed, good climate control, hot water came quickly and good water pressure in shower. We bought paper towels but didn't need to as there was already plenty of paper products. Loved the porch, even if we never made it back before dark to sit outside and enjoy it. If I had to give anything for consideration, just know that the bed is really high (stools were provided) so you must be comfortable w/getting in and out of it (I'm 5'6" & it hit at my hip.) Also, there were no dressers so we just left our suitcases open in the living room for easy access (baskets are provided at the end of the bed, though.) The host was very responsive and helped us plan the time of our departure as it was on the same day as the MDI Marathon and we didn't want to be late to the airport.

Great location away from the crowds. Fresh flowers a lovely touch. Quaint and just right for us!

Very clean and cozy accommodations. Perfect for a visit to Acadia National park and surrounding area like Bar Harbor.
Extra amenities appreciated and helpful.
Stayed for 8 days, stopped at Walmart in Ellsworth, needed nothing else! Great relaxing area with a hiking trail in the neighborhood.

This is a great little house (1 bedroom) right in Acadia National Park. It's comfortable and quiet, and the host has seemingly thought of everything. We recommend it!

It was perfect! Came in just behind Hurricane Lee and worried the island would be shut down but the Host Amanda stayed in good contact and everything could not have been more perfect the cabin the weather the food the whole island! It was perfect for two people and we loved the water pressure!! We slept with the windows open and didn’t even really need a blanket. The neighborhood was very quiet. It was central to everything. Had a nice fire in the above ground fire pit. All the amenities are in the cabin but we ate out for everything ‘cause…Lobstah Lobstah Lobstah!!!!

We had a great stay at this lovely cottage! It was just perfect and in an excellent location for exploring all that Acadia has to offer.

We highly recommend this charming cottage! The eclectic decor is lovely and it has several nice skylights. There is a great porch and also a nice deck with gas grill. Both overlook woodlands. It was so fun to watch the wild turkeys. The Wi-Fi had a strong signal throughout the cottage and worked nicely even outside on the porch. We have both ATT and Verizon cell phones and both carriers had good signal even without using Wi-Fi.
The location was perfect for exploring everything in Acadia and all of the surrounding towns nearby. It is only a few miles from Bar Harbor. We are hoping to return!

Well appointed cottage, perfect for two. Window A/C unit in the bedroom is very loud; we could not sleep with it running. Adding screens in dining room and a tighter fitting screen in the bedroom skylight would help to create a cross breeze. Basement is very musty which taints the air in the closet above, but had lots of room for storing our bikes. Large capacity washer and dryer were a bonus. Location was excellent; we walked the Village Trail connecting to Otter Cove & Acadia paths several times.

We had a great time in Otter Creek as we always do. The house is perfectly situated between Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park entrance at Jordan Pond. It is easy to get to Ocean drive using the Sieur de Mont entrance or Otter Cliff using Otter Cliff road. I would drive to Eagle lake carriage roads to ride my bike though out the park. Perfect location for access to the carriage roads at Parkman Mount or Brown Mountain as well.
The house was in great condition and is is very rustic. There is plenty of room for a couple. The laundry room is downstairs in the basement. I found it easy to use. I also stored my gravel bike down there. The kitchen is will appointed, but we only cook minor things there. The is free WiFi that seems a must nowadays.
The home is situated in a quiet residential community just down from the market. They are other rental homes nearby. Within walking distance is Otter Creek market which will meet most of your grab and go needs. We have been coming to Otter Creek for 20 years or more.

I was looking for a place for my husband and mine Maine getaway. This cottage was adorable. I didn’t realize that there were neighbors ( thought it was more remote). It was on a dead end street and the neighbors really not too friendly but we kept to ourselves anyways. The cottage was nicely decorated and had everything you need. There are a few things I would change. The air conditioner in the bedroom is very loud. Kept us up all night. Then the area where the broom is needs a charcoal filter. It has a musty smell. I think it comes from the basement. The cabin never had that smell. The bed is very hard which bothered my husband who has titanium in his back. Other than that it was not far from Acadia National Park or Bar Harbor. Amanda was very good at getting back to me if I needed anything. I definitely would stay there again.

Even though cottage is highly rated, it was even better than expected. Plenty of room for a couple with the kitchen, living room, eating area, bedroom. Covered front porch is large and ideal location for relaxing anytime of day. Quiet area but easy drive to Bar Harbor/Acadia. Appreciated the trail at end of road leading to Otter Cove/Cliff area. Kitchen provided option to eat at cottage and comply with some dietary restrictions which can be difficult when eating out every night. Highly recommended!

The house was in a great location. It was beautifully decorated and had all the essentials and comforts we could have asked for. Perfect for just the two of us.

Perfect for my husband and me plus our dog. Loved the location. Enjoyed the space. Kitchen stocked with just the right amount of pots, pans, cookie sheets, etc.

Cottage was very clean! I love to cook and the kitchen was well equipped (perhaps add a larger skillet). Bed might be a little high off the ground for physically challenged guests, but mattress was comfy. We were able to hike right from the house by using the trail at the end of the street which led us to the Shore Path and Gorham Mountain areas. I would stay here again!

Summerwood Cottage was the perfect place for my husband and myself. It was very clean, had all the amenities we needed, and was the perfect size (cozy yet plenty of space). We loved being able to walk to Otter Cove, and being just a short drive to everything else. My only recommendation for future guests is to pack an eye mask. The skylight in the bedroom was great for allowing in fresh air, but the sun rises early in Maine and made for some early mornings :-)

This home was in the perfect location for what me and my wife were looking for. We traveled to the area for our honeymoon and we’re looking for a place that was close to bar harbor and Acadia National park. This was exactly that! We were just minutes from the park and the most popular trails, as well as the nice downtown area of bar Harbor! This home was perfect for us.

We loved this small comfy house at Otter Creek. The neighborhood is very quiet yet not too far from Bar Harbor’s excellent restaurants. The house backs up to woods proving a sense of being far from the bustle of a tourist town.

I’m not the kind of traveler that visits places multiple times - I prefer to continue exploring places I haven’t been yet. That said - the minute I stepped into this cabin, I already couldn’t wait to come back.
Amanda is an amazing host - this cozy home has everything one would need to have a convenient and comfortable stay (including laundry on site - after 3 days of hiking, it was so nice to be able to wash before heading out to our next destination).
The location in proximity to the trails, Bar Harbor, and the water is perfect! I enjoyed visiting in the fall and cannot wait to come back in the summer.
Amanda is a PRO with tips on how to get to and from anywhere you’d want to go via the public transit available in the summer months as well - something I will definitely take advantage of on my next visit!
Do not pass this property up - you won’t be disappointed with your stay.
