About this house rental
This holiday home has the peace and quiet of Muriwai Valley, and yet is an easy distance from a vast range of activities.
Return from your adventures to sit on the large deck to relax and enjoy the serenity of the country, with sounds of birdlife, the evening sunset, and cows that graze in the nearby paddocks.
Indoors there is TV, a guitar to play, or tackle a game of Chess. There are games for the children and toys for the little ones.
When you feel like exploring it's only 8 Minutes drive to the famous black sands of Muriwai Beach, popular for it's wonderful surf, Golf Club and Gannet Colony.
Take a walk along the west coast walkway or enjoy a horse-trek along the vast spetacular Coastline. There is also 4wheel drive access up one end of the beach, permit required.
Fishing from the rocks or exploring the cave is popular when the tide and conditions are right.
The Sand Dunz cafe is well known for its great food.
Further afield by about 20 minutes Woodhill forest offers paintball, tree adventures and the Mountain Bike Park.
Other attractions are Parakai Hot Pools, and Historic Helensville.
Heading South in the other direction, a day out shopping in Auckland City is not that far, or check out the closer new Norwest Mall a 25 minute drive away.
Locally, you will find a supermarket , cafes, takeaway shop, Thai restaurant and more, in the Waimauku Village, just five minutes from your holiday retreat.
If you wish to dine at home you will find that the kitchen is well equipped for you to create your own meals.
For those who are looking to stay at a Motel but cannot locate one, there is an option of staying one night only by arrangement.
Special conditions:
We ask that smokers go outdoors to smoke.
Families are welcome. There is a low deck without rails, but it has not been a problem in the past.
Owners are usually available by phone to assist with any queries or needs.
We hope that all who stay here create happy memories to take away with them.
The valley is very peaceful at night, we ask that all noisy music or other sounds to cease by 11.00pm as sound travels readily across the valley at night.
Guests of visitors who have not paid to stay are required to leave by 11.00pm.
Linens are charged for 1 night stay ; NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave;

Our daughter was getting married at a venue near by. This was the perfect place to house family members for a long weekend. Hazel was very easy to deal with, very accommodating in every way. She came over soon after our arrival to introduce herself which was lovely. We were very impressed that after 7 or 8 showers all in a row, there was still hot water. Thank you Hazel for your lovely home.

House was close to our Wedding venue and the house had everything we needed

Hazel went out of her way to make us welcome. Her property is well set up for families with 3 bedrooms and one nursery. Set in the country, the property is very quiet and looks out on paddocks. We had a wedding at a nearby vineyard and this property was an ideal location. Great base to explore the region.

Great spot to base yourself to explore surrounding area. Property manager is nice and communicates well.

Perfect spot if you're into your off roading, we have stayed here a couple of times now for 4x4 events in woodhill forest, Space to park a teailer or two. Hazel has been very accommodating on both trips for our varying group sizes.
We will definitely stay again👌

My cousin and I stayed here with our elderly Mother, Father and Aunty. What a cosy little home away from home!! The weather outside was awful, but we were snuggled in and did not even notice. Also for those attending a function or wedding at the Settlers Country Manor - this is less than a 10min drive from the venue and local amenities. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Perfect. Just what we as a Whānau needed. Warm, comfortable and cosy. Had everything we needed plus more. Thank you Hazel & Lawrence.

Was perfect place to escape this city life and not to far away from every thing

Lovely hosts, exceptionally stocked home. I would recommend checking out the kitchen before doing any grocery shopping as we doubled up on a few things. Shopping centre with supermarket, gas station, cafes, and restaurants a few minutes drive away. A few minutes drive the other direction takes you to the gorgeous Muriwai beach.
Plenty of power sockets handily located throughout. Kids toys, and a baby/toddler room.
Can't speak highly enough of the hosts and property. Will definitely be back for next year's Wrestlefest, and will hopefully stay longer.

Wonderful country atmosphere. Lovely host. Hopefully we come back again.

The property is in a rural location but only 10 minutes to shops and the beach. Hazel kept in contact throughout the booking process and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. An excellent property with everything that you need for a comfortable stay.

We stayed for 12 nights while our house was being painted. A great home away from home with everything we needed. An easy drive to beach, mountain biking, Parakai Springs, supermarkets etc. Hazel was a lovely host and very accommodating with last minute issues (not at the Lodge) due to the flooding January 27.

Lovely family stay. Room enough for grandparents, parents and two children 😊
Despite the wet weather, it was warm, dry and clean so everyone was very comfortable.

Half between the beach and the shops/facilities. We came to visit family in Waimauku and Huapi. We love Muriwai beach too so we got the best of both worlds. Property perfect for our needs. Well equipped, comfy beds and peaceful

We stayed here as we had a family wedding to attend at a winery in Kumeu. The check in process was super easy, Hazel was amazing to deal with, she accommodated us so well with our baby and the nursery was just perfect. Such a good location and loved being close to the beach too. Beds were comfy and the house was equipped with everything we needed. Awesome stay. Thank you so much 😊

Lovely warm house with everything we needed.

Lovely property manager with awesome communication
Will absolutely stay here again sometime
Awesome having the nursery set up was really handy not having to bring a portacot
Overall the house was clean however the bathroom we felt could do with a good scrub as there was quite a bit of mould in the shower. Also found it a bit weird showering with Loofahs hanging in the shower that didn't belong to us thought maybe personal belongings should be stored away.
Overall fantastic place

Nice tidy, quiet house in the country. It had everything we needed for our weekend away. Unfortunately there was a terrible ant problem in the kitchen and they got into a lot of our food and drinks, and there was no sound on the TV which was quite disappointing. But otherwise a great place to stay, and great communication with the host.

Only spent one night. Very clean and perfect for our needs. Comfy beds.

we loved it,
Hazel made the whole process very easy for us and the accommodation was perfect for our group, clean and tidy in a beautiful spot.
It is a shame we arrived so late that night and had to leave the next day, it would have been nice to stay and relax for a bit longer

Absolutely beautiful little bach in the countryside. Loving home suited my family of 8 so well. My kids ages 9mths to 15yrs loved the countryside, the house had sucha friendly and homey free. Excellent amenities, love how there were sooooo much blankets available but we didn't need too as the home itself was just warm. From booking to checking out Hazel was such a lovely and friendly host, kept the communication open and quick. Excellent service!!! House was beautifully set up for its guests even had a cute little nursery!! Unfortunately my baby couldn't sleep in there but the other 2 rooms catered well for my older kids. Master room was gorgeous. Just absolutely simplicity at its finest!!!
Thank you Hazel & Lawrence for letting us making memories in your beautiful home :)

The groomsmen loved the place. It was spacious, clean and had everything they needed for their short stay. The deck and the landscape made such a beautiful back drop perfect for a pre wedding shoot. Communication with Hazel was smooth, she let us know everything we needed to know and was only a call/txt away. Highly recommend for bridal parties or groups of family and friends.
