It was all clean
Waste of money. Terrible noise from the bar downstairs , the shower was or very hot or very cold, the bed was shaking and making noise when you turn around, there should be wifi but this was nearly not working, and when it became dark they switch on an outside lamp for the terrass so the whole room was lightned.

Great little place to visit the area. Staff were super friendly and a great help.
Just be aware there is virtually no phone signal here (O2 network) and the free internet simply didn’t connect.

Friendly staff
Very noisy room over a pub which wasn't clear from the description. Ensuite bathroom smelt horribly of drains. Breakfast was a few mini boxes of cereal, and sliced bread. It wasn't clear whether we could use what was in the fridge. The milk was off. The fire exit route had a padlocked gate.

The hotel is in a nice area with lots of outdoor seating. The facilities for guests were great with everything we needed.
The sound from the bar carried through the floors and walls very easily. (We might have just been unlucky having a loud group drinking on the night we stayed.)

Excellent staff, very knowledgeable barman, tremendous beer selection and quality.
There is currently no Thai restaurant in operation which was a disappointment.

Clean rooms, comfortable bed. Staff did their best to be helpful.
Noisy (very noisy bar, trains); no cooked food; little service. I’m sure not legal in terms of fire exits (locked in without all the keys.

Very close to the station.
Nothing really, all was great.

The kitchen facility was a welcome surprise, including the washing machine. We didn’t use this much but were impressed by the resources we could have used.
The key system worked well for handing back keys and using the upstairs door.
The noise and outside lights went out at a reasonable hour.
The ensuite bathroom smelled of drains which was unfortunate as the rest of the room was fine.

Very accommodating staff!
Positionally a very convenient place
Perhaps noise later into the evening, but this should be expected as it is a pub!

Nice location, nice staff, nice room, awesome bath tube. Washmachine and dryer available. We came in December and the room was nice and warm.
Breakfast was self service which is perfectly fine, but there was nothing appart from bread, milk, tea, coffee and many kind of cereals. There was no jam, cheese or anything you can have with toast, there wasnt toaster actually also... Breakfast was a big dissapointment.

We liked the ambience of the place and the surroundings, and its location. A real sense of history about it. Nothing fancy, but functional, and as described in the publicity.
There was nothing that we did not like about the place. It was as described. Basic in some ways, but that was fine by us. We were left to help ourselves to a breakfast, and that suited us fine.

Great atmostphere, handy for station, cheerful staff. On-site micribrewery.
Enjoyed the DIY breakfast.
Very helpful after my friend left some shoes behind, they sent them on and wouldn't take any payment for postage. Top marks there.
The en-suite room (room 1) suffers some noise from the bar below (room 2 next door is peaceful though).

The room was lovely, plenty of room and the bed was so comfy with proper pillows.
The bathroom was gorgeous just unfortunate it was a shared facility
We booked as a pitstop after flying in to Newcastle airport, we knew the facilities were shared but the fact you had to use a shared bathroom away along the hallway was a big no, there were a couple of male workers so I felt uncomfortable getting up through the night and wandering down the hall in a nightgown had it been nxt to the room it might of been ok. The landing was very creaky as were the floorboards in our room , you could hear every word the other quests said when they were in the hallway which was very off putting as you didn't know whether they could hear you talking in your room.
There was a shared kitchen which we were shown and told to help ourselves to cereal, toast, hot drinks etc unfortunately 1st thing in the morning there was no one about to ask for anything. The milk was 3 days out of date, the bread was 4 days out of date so we ended up not having anything before we left. The blind in the bedroom was a waste of time as the light shone through until the outside lights were turned off after closing time but then let the light in at sunrise maybe a blackout blind fully fitted or a nice set of curtains. The TV wasn't programmed so couldn't watch it, I couldn't get any signal in my room even with my mobile data which wasn't ideal when needing to catch up on emails etc
With being in a pub it was slightly noisey above the bar but it wasn't bad as mid week I don't think I would of liked to stay at wknd when it's busy. Apart from these downsides we slept so well as the bed was such good quality which is important when staying anywhere

Beautiful area, facilities and room.
Shop 5 minutes walk away.
Loud music until very late, not good for travellers wanting to rest and get up early for hiking.

Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Facilities were good.
Breakfast was very poor. No parking available. Door handle on external door very loose

The area was quiet. The bar was nice and great beer. Good choices. Friendly.
The noise levels, the bedroom was above the bar and a small room which wasn't the one offered when I booked it.
The facilities the kitchen was welcoming but the sharing bathroom area could have been a private bathroom... although it was a small bar.
The ensuite was OK just a small room.
There was no restaurant facilities either. The food elsewhere was average around other bars.
The noise levels kept us awake till past midnight. I know it's a bar ..but noise levels shouldn't upset thr guests staying there. An adequate level of noise would have been more appropriate.
Other than that a very clean environment ..I can't fault the standards of cleanliness.

Fantastic location just a short walk from the Hadrian's wall Path, great selection of real ales, homely feel to the accomodation

Lot's......the Company/local People were Tremendus, the Kitchen area, the Garden, the Window seats, being able to come/go and move freely, the Cleaning lady (Louise) is so Helpful, Friendly and Thorough, Relaxing Experience.
Only things were a Giant and very fast spider 🕷 got into the room, off us having the window open which we managed to catch and realise outside. En-suite door could be changed to a folding one or rehung to open into the bedroom maybe as its to BIG for wash space.
