Close to the esplanade, buses and shops
I could choose to eat at the hotel or plenty of restaurants locally
My room overlooked the Beer garden which was very noisy at night!
As was the fan until it went off

Very disappointed on arrival to be given a disabled room and staff insisted l'd requested it and also for my next visit in 2 weeks, as l regularly stay there to visit family and use Booking.com, l can't see where you book a disabled room? I've never had one before. I have since cancelled my next booking as it appeared to be a problem for them, on arriving home Yelfs have contacted me for a payment for Breakfast which l never had, l didn't buy anything at Yelfs. Yelfs is very well situated but very noisy, despite staying there many many times, l will be trying other venues.

Nothing
The room was in an annex across the main road and reached though several doors and a car park. The building was shabby. The bathroom was designed for disabled use and was rather run down with rusty equi[pment. When I requested to speak to the senior manager I was told that he was the proprietor and rarely there.

With a lot of persuasion all went well
For one of the top hotels in town, it was very run-down, e.g. state of the carpets which are getting close to being dangerous, value for money in a well-run hotel. Lack of clear instructions, e.g. checking in at 15.00. hrs and checking-out at10.30hrs, with little or no flexibility.

We really enjoyed our stay, staff were very helpful. The only problem we had was that the pillows were very thin. The problem was solved very efficiently by giving us more pillows. We would recommend this hotel to anyone, the room was very comfortable and had everything that we needed.
Other than the pillows, there wasn't anything that we didn't like.

the property was in an excellent postition for the pier and catching buses, the hotel was well kept and clean
There was an outside garden well sheltered from wind also a large conservatory area, plenty of seats in doors to enjoy a drink.
nothing much we didn’t like,we did stay in the property opposite so had to walk across the road to get our breakfast.
The menu for evening meals was limited,we would of liked something more healthy to eat.

I have been visiting Yelf's for about 50 yrs now and it's very familiar. It's convenient for visiting my friends and family around Ryde. The staff are helpful and efficient.
The hotel is in need of decoration and replacement of soft furnishings incl carpets. That didn't detract from my visit however.
One thing I did note is that the a/c system is very noisy outside and does spoil the enjoyment of the patio area at the rear of the hotel somewhat.

The staff were lovely. The hotel was clean, if not outdated. The wedding we attended was lovely.
The noise from the road. The breakfast was awful. Yet the wedding food was lovely.

The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable, we couldn't fault how clean it was, and we were also supplied with facilities such as a dresser and tea and coffee. Good location, near bars and the beach.
The cooked breakfast in the morning wasn't fully available when we first came down and we were restricted on time so had to leave before it was unfortunately. However, we were issued a refund because of this thanks to the help from one of the staff members Grace, so very grateful for that.

The location of the hotel was convenient.
Breakfast was good, nicely cooked and good variety.
Reception and the bar area were nice.
Dated rooms, paint peeling off the ceiling. Some mould on the bathroom ceiling. Generally run down hotel, you don't have to look too far to see many signs of wear. My bed was reasonably comfortable but pillows were far too thin.
One or two members of staff were friendly but the rest were disappointing in their approach to customers, looking demotivated and doing the bare minimum to captivate their guests.
The bar area shuts at 11 o'clock even for residents, l would have thought extending the opening time at busy periods would generate much needed cash for refurbishments?

Good location, well situated for both the seafront and the high street shops and other amenities.
No choice at breakfast on one of the days. Whilst the room had obviously been cleaned, it was tired and in need of a thorough deep clean/refresh.

Comfortable. Great location for Ryde's quirky shops and good restaurants. Clean.
