Lovely holiday

Chris the owner was very helpful you could come and go as you pleased. The room was large and the bed even bigger very comfortable. The house has history and is large and Chris has tried to keep it looking as it did years ago. Had a lovely time there.

We obviously hadn't read the details of the holiday properly as didn't realise it was shared bathroom but as the other guests hadn't arrived we had it to ourselves. The bathroom I have to say was lovely

Chris was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very spacious, and the location is great, within walking distance to the beach and restaurants.

Parking is free but on the street, so there's no dedicated parking space. However, we didn't have any difficulty finding a parking spot.

Great host, convenient location, thoroughly recommend

The house is in a great location, set back on a quiet road in Ryde and only a short walk from the town centre and transport links to all parts of the island. We were staying for the Isle of Wight festival and shuttle buses ran throughout the day and night, again just a short walk away. Our room was an excellent size, a range of continental breakfast foods were provided every morning (which was served until later for the festival weekend) and Chris was a very welcoming and engaging host with excellent knowledge of the island. He was on hand to offer advice and recommendations when sought. Thank you for having us, I enjoyed my stay on the Isle of Wight more than a recent trip to Turkey!

Lovely comfortable peaceful location near the town centre and easy reach of buses, ferries and train

Location was excellent - quiet but near the town and local transport. The property was lovely and garden beautiful. Nice choice of teas and a continental self service breakfast.

Maybe details of some more walking routes around Ryde and a board to highlight interesting events on at present?

Cracking Stay

The house was perfectly positioned to explore Ryde and was a 5 min walk from the beach and shops. Chris ,the host, was very informative about local places of interest and getting around. We had a shared bathroom which is huge with a big bath and shower. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is served downstairs in the big dining room with cereals....bread. ..fruit and also tea and coffee. No hot breakfast but we were happy with that. All in all it was an amazing stay and thanks to Chris for hosting.

Very friendly and nice owner - he helped us with restaurants, tips to get around the island, what to visit; good breakfast (self service, which was very comfortable and easy, fresh fruit,bread,Joghurt every day), situated close to the center of Ryde, to the beach and ferry (only a walk of 5-10min); I can really recommend that place!!

Some maybe wouldn't like to share a bathroom, but because the House has only two rooms for guest, that means not more than 4 people at the same time, it was no problem at all and the bathroom was very big (it also had a bathtub in the middle of the room, very nice :)!!)

Good value stay with a wonderful host

Spacious bedrooms, very clean, great location (close to the ferry, beach and restaurants), lots of choices for breakfast. The host Chris was incredibly helpful, gave us lots of tips about the island and we had a great time chatting to him (and his lovely cats)!

Would be nice if we had a lounging area

Comfortable stay, a stone’s throw from the beach

A great location if you are coming with children. The weather wasn’t up to playing in the sea when we were here, but it’s only a couple of minutes walk to a sandy beach. Chris was friendly and helpful. We were considering bringing our bicycles, and he would have created secure space to store them had we brought them with us. Communication was prompt prior to our stay. Everything we needed was supplied, but bring your own toiletries. Parking is on-street but we found a space very close to the property every day.

The weather! And that most things were closed on Mondays. But this was nothing to do with the property.

Great spot for festival travel bus. Area good for pubs and restaurants.

Was worried about shared bathroom but that big both rooms could have used at same time.

The host was wonderful! Friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble.

Very friendly and helpful host who made us feel at home. We will definitely stay here again.

Exactly as described and very good value for money. Huge Victorian property allowed plenty of privacy and excellent hygiene and cleanliness throughout. Room was spacious, brand new super king sized bed, tv, Wi-fi with a very nice view. 5 minutes walk to the Beach, 10 minutes to the Hovercraft and town centre

Very enjoyable stay.

The location was close to the seafront town buses and trains. The rooms were large and very comfortable. Chris was on hand to help and answer any questions you might have. Enjoyed our stay here.

The only thing we would have liked possible was a kettle in the room.

Bit disappointing, and will book into a hotel next time.

The location was OK and suited our needs,

Pretty ordinary for a continental breakfast, and sometimes needed to go into the adjoining kitchen to find a clean mugs or glasses or for water for the kettle. Hadn't realised it was a shared bathroom, and wouldn't have booked if I'd known that it was.
