Convenient in terms of location.
no proper maintenance. looks like a run-down place compared to my last visit 2 years ago.

The location is near a really good local Hawkers food markets where we had breakfast everyday. Yum! The rooms were spacious enough for three of us. The room was quiet and the air conditioner was really good. The WiFi was quite good.
The hotel is near Havelock MRT so it made it really easy to get around Singapore by MRT and bus. The MRT is the best way to get to the airport. Taxi's are too expensive in Singapore compared to the rest of Asia. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful.
The carpet is looking tired and the furniture comes out of the 1970's. Some people might like this and call it retro.

Location was good, beds were comfortable,
The room is out dated, carpets were filthy, almost didn't want to take my shoes off, for the price we paid rm 1,000+ I feel it could do better, the rooms of course looks very presentable online, but when you get there it's a whole different story, toilet was reasonable clean and dated, but the room tells a whole different story, TV doesn't work, the network cable was broken so no TV in room, carpet is in bad shape, needs cleaning or better yet changed! The furnitures are all dated and old looking. Overall not worth the money. The only good thing about this hotel is that it offers 3 single beds as there were 3 of us travelling. A

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever booked. This is my first ever review and I don't even know where to begin. The carpet grossly stained, mold in the bathrooms and you could certainly see it had not been properly cleaned in a long time, lamp shades askew, walls smashed in, curtains ripped, didn't dare sit on the chairs because of the stains. We left the property and checked into a far superior hotel. I requested a refund and contacted Booking.com who said within 24 hours one way or another we would be refunded. Sent booking.com pictures, contacted customer service several times as other than a short message stating "refund was denied" there was no further follow-up. We have been travelling extensively throughout the world over the last 6 years, using booking.com and this is the first time customer service has been lacking and a hotel has not lived up to its reviews. I wasn't expecting the Ritz but I certainly wasn't expecting a dive and that's what this hotel is. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone friend or foe. Save your money, don't stay here. Spending the night outside would be far superior than spending even a minute in the New Cape Inn

The price was reasonable, the location is close to centre of the city, and there are Chinese restaurants nearby.
The room was obviously not clean enough.
Especially in the shower room, lots of hairs are on the wall and shower head.

very comfortable and located near MRT. Bit Old but trust me its better than Hotel Ibis and hotel boss in terms of value for money.
a bit old, so old wooden furniture emits a faint smell like a wooden cabin in woods. Not moss or anything hazardous.

The location is ok. The cleaning staff is friendly.
The room, the towels, the curtains were not ideally clean when I checked in. The is no common kitchen or laundry. The iron and and the ironing table are by request and are in a very poor condition.
The TV remote is almost broken, the TV plug itself is a different type than the socket!

I thought the bed was comfortable. The bed was huge, really too big given the room size. The aircon worked as did the wifi. I was able to leave my case in the foyer of the hotel on the day I checked out. It is 800m to the nearest MRT stop on the East West line. It is possible to get to that stop with only one change from the airport (allow an hour). It takes just under 30 mins to go the 3 or 4 stops into town and about 20 mins to walk to chinatown.
The safe didn't work and never got repaired despite me asking on the first day. I stayed 5 days. The TV didn't work. Bottled water was left in the room. There were 2 coffee drink sachets. They had coffee combined with coffee-mate and sugar. As the room was only cleaned once, I only had water and coffee-drink for two 24hr periods in the 5 day stay. The me toilet in the foyer hasn't been overhauled in 20 years. It is clean and functional. There are no food facilities onsite and nowhere nearby opens before 8am to supply breakfast before the conference. I made do with fruit I bought. Don't plan to spend any time there.

A very reasonably priced hotel close to transport and amenities.
Some dirty stains on wall and curtains look unsightly despite clean room.

Staff were very accomodating and provided extra bedding/towels.
The room was very dirty, the bathroom in particular. The toilet had brown marks on it and none of the surfaces had been cleaned.
The carpet was dusty and the curtains stained.
The room was advertised on booking.com as suitable for two adults and an infant but no infant bedding was provided such as a mattress or cot.
