Oasis Escape

Leafy oasis in the heart of the city - a reprieve from the concrete jungle! Comfortable setting. The walk-out patio was a treat. Jimmy (concierge) very helpful.

The room was nice but the hotel is tired and needs a refresh.

The room was a decent size. The building itself is lovely.

The hotel is tired and needs a refresh, particularly the common areas. The food at the restaurant was basic and the service disappointing even though we were the only ones there. The system for getting towels and using the gym is confusing.

Relaxing staycay ever

The stay was a belated b'day treat for my partner and I'm glad I booked the deluxe double garden room. She loves it and so did I. It was beautiful and I love it that the hotel is quiet. We didn't go out much because of the room. The only thing that we did was swim at the pool and just eat and lazed around in the room. It was the most relaxing staycay ever. I highly recommend to book deluxe double garden room for couples.

Breakfast at a hotel is everything in a vacation right? Too bad its not halal.

There are many better places to stay in SGP

the room layout is good if very tired nowadays - basically only stayed here for the two nights the hotel I normally stay at was fully booked - as soon as my prefered place was free I moved - just sad to see what could be a really nice property so badly managed

Breakfast was a non starter - better eat cardboard - even the coffee machine didnt work the two days I was there - Internet same - had a TEAMS call to do - ended up doing it off my cell phone cause the hotel's wifi was on and off up and down- I have stayed in this place many times before pandemic - just struck me it has not been maintained well

Positive experience

Clean hotel. Comfortable bed and nice and helpful staff

Generally speaking, I am happy with the experience offered by the hotel. Just minor things like the tap water was leaking, and there was no spare toilet paper in the bathroom(but it was available as soon as we requested it by telephone). And we called the restaurant downstairs just to order our dinner at the table, but we have been charged extra for a "room service"

An enjoyable staycation!

The swimming pool is really nice and relaxing. The ensuite toilet is clean and gorgeous. There are many nice areas for guests to lounge, both indoors and outdoors.

We were relaxing at one of the outdoor tables and a few smokers were nearby at the bin smoking (walkway between the Salon restaurant and the Grand Marquee). Being a non-smoker, it affected me. Would have been better if there were demarcated areas specially for smokers, away from where guests are seated. Perhaps it would have been better if they could smoke at the other end of the Salon restaurant, near to the walkway to Fort Canning park. Thanks!

not the hotel you want to stay in when you go to Singapore!

for a 4 star hotel in Singapore, I would have expected more. sorely needs an update, only one restaurant and the food is less than average, and expensive at that, when you pay $8.00 plus tip for a cappuccino…and $110.00 in dinner for one ( one glass of wine) , rack of ribs gave me 3 spareribs and gluey mashed potatoes!

mostly everything! especially for the price and I realize that Singapore is expensive, but it’s ridiculous! also who puts a large sunken bathtub exactly 2 feet from your bed, in the middle of the room, and the toilet just another 2 feet away! good luck not tripping over the edge with large rocks that surround the bath tub when you get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom! doesn’t even make sense from a design perspective!

Nice old renovated colonial retreat in a park, but highly priced

The room is large, contemporary, luxurious and well appointed; tub overlooking the city view. Large bathroom.

The whole hotel is a bit sad and mainly used for weddings; very far by foot or cab from the centers of interest for a tourist in Singapore. Renovated but a little bit tired already. Staff OK but not super warm or especially welcoming. Breakfast room a little drab. Management is very stiff. Overpriced at 280€/ night (not including breakfast), not the best deal in Singapore. Balcony in the room should clean (not accessible).

This hotel is in an ideal location but is sadly requiring some maintenance.

The property is in a very convenient location surrounded by lovely parkland and a short walk to civic district, orchard road, museum and art gallery. The pool was lovely too. The bed was very comfortable.

The room was weird… with the bathroom incorporated in room taking up lots of space. Also balcony (ground floor) was not useable as neighbour also sitting there. Hotel buildings desperate for some maintenance, sadly. To go for a pool swim, need to go through reception and up to level 2 then outside and down to basement 3 for a towel and then back up to pool… bit strange.

Never coming back here again, this hotel is not 5-star at all.

The hotel has a charm to it, but it's not 5 star. It's a charming 3-star at best.

Breakfast is terrible. The selection of food is pathetic, the coffee machine at breakfast AND in the room was broken. Singapore is known for great food, but this hotel is an embarassment to Singapore serving a poor spread like this. 5-star no way. If they day they are 3-star I will accept. Also, the room is not professionally cleaned. 5-star hotels are very clean, this one had mound of dust on the bathroom poles, clear that it hasnt been cleaned or wiped down for at least 3 years. Disgusting!!

frustrating and disappointed.

not a lot to be honest

the room wasn’t ideal - poor lighting, toilet not private, bed uncomfortable-pool towels 10 minutes from pool a maze to find. staff not experienced or good adequate English.

Good place to stay if you like the quaint environment to relax

quaint hotel near Fort Canning Park. comfortable and clean rooms. lobby smelled fresh and had a very nice scent :) staff were helpful, friendly and definitely tried their best to make our stay wonderful and acceded to most of our requests where possible! Dhoby Ghaut mrt and plaza Singapura was a short 10 min walk through the 24 hour linkway.

some facilities, such as the swimming pool and restaurant were pretty old. some of the lights in the room were not working, including flickering lights which were a little annoying. seemed a little short of staff, slightly longer waits for housekeeping. nonetheless, staff were friendly to help out as mentioned in my comment on what was great about the hotel. one thing though - check in process was a little complicated (was charged a portion of the final amount prior to my stay which was a little weird because the amount seemed random. but staff at the front desk promptly reversed it and charged us for the full amount at check in).

Average hotel stay - too expensive

Felt like the room was a concrete box, staff were somewhat cold and un friendly, no staff around to assist with towels for the pool. Breakfast was average and toilet was not covered by screen or proper curtains- just blackout blinds. Dirty room

Fabulous location on Fort Canning Hill. Great spacious room and nice staff.

It's a fabulous location and the room was great. I lost my watch and it was returned a day later.

The layout of the hotel is quite strange. We arrived early and sat by the pool but the bathroom and showers are in the basement in another part of the hotel and they were dingy and dark.
