Fabulous! Staff so attentive. Food was wonderful. so clean and tidy.
Had a slight issue with the air con - the room was a little warm but otherwise excellent

Pros: localisation: a step away from big hotels hustle, private beach place and lounges; italian restaurant (good for italian food, for regional things/seafood go somewhere else); calm place (10-15 rooms, no more), private pool, adjacent to watersports centre. Good for families with kids.
Cons: rooms are a bit sparsely furnitured/decorated and not that cosy, the hotel is not directly at the beach, you need to walk like 150m (I didn't mind), no real self catering options.

Everything was just PERFECT! We traveled with our 2 years old so it was a great advantage to have the whole spacious bungalow for us (and not just some tiny hotel room). The pool is perfect for a family with such a little kiddo as it is divided to two parts - in one there is just a water lower than knees so great for a toddler. Domenico (the owner) is great as a person and also a great chef. He prepares whatever you need for you - for breakfast and also during the rest of the day. The beach is private and yes - you cannot really swim in the ocean in the eastern part of Zanzibar. No big deal for us - the accommodation is close to the beach in the calm area. Anyway, it is nice walk on the beach to see all the locals who try to sell you anything on this planet. :) We also walked to the other resorts, you can swim in theirs pools if you buy something (a drink or food). Also can use other resorts restaurants and services if wanted. If you are a family with a toddler or small kids, this is must have place to stay for you! :) Highly recommended!!
PS: We also went to Kendwa to check the place and we decided to stay here in Kiwengwa. Kendwa is (from my personal view) for younger people who like to party. And it is also super super crowded! No relax vacation vibe or feeling. We believe that it is better to stay in Kiwengwa if you are a family with a little kid.
There is no “minus” at this place!

it was really nice with nice chef, which prepared for us always the best dishes after all I will stay was amazing with nice beach. Nice disco in Pontile bar.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. The resort facilities were good and clean, and the pool a nice laguna for midday. Also, the staff like Nginaeli, Selma and Melanie were sweet and always so helpful. And Domenico took great interest in preparing delicious dishes from the best morning pancakes ever, to amazing seafood spaghetti, and homemade ginger/pumpkin ravioli. We celebrated a special New Year there, with fun Masai ceremonies.
Our room was one of the beach bungalows with a very nice patio and an easy walk to the beach. Room was big and had a nice shower! Thank you for all the care.
Property is well, sunbeds just at the beach were so peaceful.
Swimming on the Kiwengwa beach depends a lot on the tide.

It was better than expected, the place is very calm, far from the crowed standard resorts, you can really feel that you’re in Zanzibar.
The staff is very kind and the food is amazing, very tasty and natural flavours, we had dinner in the Domenico restaurant many times because it’s so delicious!

The restaurant and staff at the resort were fantastic. The food was phenomenal and service was top notch.
We thought the configuration of the rooms was different, and although not a deal breaker, we were expecting something else.

it was small & beautiful, decorated in Zanzibari style, clean & great air conditioning! It’s on the east side of the island, much quieter & secluded than Stone Town. the staff was wonderful & respected our privacy. The food was excellent—- Italian chef cooked great dishes ( I wish he wouldn’t have yelled at his staff so much!)
They were helpful with taxis & excursions. We have no complaints at all & really enjoyed our time there, we also felt very safe!

We liked to stay at this place. The chef is very nice and the food is amazing. We stayed on Zanzibar for 3 weeks (in more than 5 hotels) and here we had the best food. Also the time for getting the food was compared to the rest of Zanzibar high speed:)
The hotel itselfe is not directly at the beach, but has a private beach in 2min walking distance. In general, I would say that this hotel is perfect for families.
For us the only draw back was the price. I personally think it is a little bit overpriced compared to other hotel on Zanzibar, but I guess that is also due to the fact that we, as a couple, stayed in a three bed room. Nevertheless, we would again book some nights here.

Very friendly and always smiling staff. Thank you all for your hospitality and care! Good team work!
Great chief Domenico knows how to please customers. Best tiramisu ever! 10 dinners full of memories and tastes!
Clean and cozy rooms suitable for family.
Good private beach with bathroom and shower for customers. Beach bar with lunch option.
Hotel has own travel agent "Capitan Findus". Good quality and strong recommend to try before beach sharks swallow you!
Bigger beach towels? :-)
Smoking allowed in the restaurant.

Well this place surprised me a lot! We got here let's say by an accident, and boy oh boy, what a pleasant accident it was! We stayed in a bungalow, me for 5 days, my girlfriend for 6 (our flights were canceled/changed, so we left on different days), and I can totally say that the facility really meets the four-star standards. Nice rooms, AC in them, place for storage, nice bathroom, every day cleaning service in the bungalows, pool outside, private beach. and the most important thing in this place: the italian guy, the chef, who keeps running the whole place. I would say without hesitation again, as I said to him when I left: the next time I visit Zanzibar this place will be the first place to look for. So: if you go all over Zanzibar I would say you won't find a place where the kitchen works that fast as here. Every other places we've been we had to wait 10-15 minutes to get a beer, and maybe 45 (!) minutes to get food, despite the fact that most restaurants weren't really busy, but as being Zanzibar, everyting was pole-pole. NOT here! The service went so fast and smooth that I was amazed every time. And the food was delicious., breakfast stuff was made using quality ingredients, and everything was simply astonishing. And yes, you can drink a proper espresso here! Bottom line: if you end up Zanzibar, maybe Kiwengwa region this is the place to be. Without any other comments, a wonderful experience. Mille grazie signore!
I wound't say it's a problem, but like in all other places on the island the wifi on property premises played pranks every once in a while.

Yes, it is awsome place, where you feel like at home. Just heart touching place. Beach is on the door step, colourful breakfast just after you come from the amazing sunrise on the beach. Once you come here, you don´t want to go anywhere else like me :-) This is THE PLACE with love and power!!!

KBB is in a great location, with an awesome pool and simple but good accomodation. The food is brilliant, especially the breakfasts and the lunch and dinners are by far the best in that area of Zanzibar. Our only regret is that we didn't eat every meal there. Staff are friendly and can help setup any activities. All round a great choice.
