What an amazing place. Close enough to be handy but far enough away to be peaceful.
Loved being able to relax and just listen to birdsong.

If you're reading this you have just stumbled across the most unique piece of paradise out there. We have stayed at a few places in Akaroa over the years but never any as good as this. The house is 60sqm & built from macrocapa. It has an outdoor bath, views you can almost not believe and birdsong is the only sound you can hear. It is private, peaceful and the sheets! I could have stayed in bed all weekend. The hosts were amazing, there when we needed them but separate enough to give us the privacy we really wanted on this weekend away.

Very eclectic cottage in a beautiful serene location. Loved waking up to hear the birds. The owners were fantastic hosts and we enjoyed the treats including freshly laid duck eggs 😊
We didn’t need to do any clothes washing but not I’m not sure if there was a washing machine available?

A perfect relaxing weekend spent in gorgeous accommodation in a little piece of paradise. Nicky and Fran were so kind and even provided a homemade birthday cake for my partners birthday weekend. We will definitely be back - thank you so much

There is no doubt that the view is magnificent.
A spacious room and an outdoor area for a couple.
The host is very nice and friendly if you have any enquiries please let them know.
There are milk, eggs, choc cake and some homemade foods, provided by the host.
A full kitchen facility, plenty of dishes, glasses, cups, tea and coffee. Dish washer is very convenient.
I prefer to use a non-stick electric pan as it is a new and clean pan. I can manually clean it by hand.
A comfortable bed that you can lie down n see the sunrise n sunset.
There is a private area that you can walk down to the sea. The accommodation is surrounded by a beautiful garden.
A sign of mumfords at the entrance is quite small and it is hard to read. However the host already knew.
I recommend to close the doors and windows just before dark to avoid night- time insects.
I normally have my own personal pillow. If you like soft pillows, there would be no problem. If you like high n firm pillows, you need to ask for more pillows to support your neck.
I recommend to make new ice blocks before use.
I recommend to clean or rinse some pots, some pans, some glasses or cups and some jars before use.

The view can't be beat. The private little walk to the secluded beach and the private walk into Akaroa was also a hit. As was the chocolate cake and salmon mousse that was hand delivered to us by the hosts, and the exceptionally warm welcome. Would rate this accomadation as one out my favourite places. Highly highly recommend for anyone wanting a little slice of heaven.

Met as soon as we arrived, no keys. Detailed instructions of how to get there and a backup cell number (could clean the sign at the entrance). Nicky provided little bits and pieces through our stay, small flowers, a cake, fresh salmon, walnuts, etc. Left us to ourselves, but was available when we needed. Outdoor large bath (wasn't quite as private as we thought, and hot water ran out as the bath was so big!). Great deck, lots to read, wifi. A lovely get away location whilst being nearby Akaroa and its restaurants.
