Not as advertised. There was no parking.,And on both nights effectively no restaurant.

Enjoyed the wine pairing.
Room was a bit tight but characterful owing to attic location.

location fantastic……room very comfortable…….staff helpful and friendly.
If booking for Sunday evening or all day Monday or Tuesday restaurant is closed to all. With most of the other restaurants also closed your choice for dining is very limited.

Located right in the centre of the village in the market place with a lot of free parking spaces handy and restaurants, bars and cafes within short walking distance. The room (Boheme) was querky, quite small and very well maintained with modern bathroom, comfortable - although the double bed felt small - 3/4 size? - and well equipped with coffee/tea on tap, stocked fridge and sherry on the house.
We chose a continental breakfast: with tea, croissant, toast with home made jam and muesli which was excellent quality and more than enough volume to keep us going through the day.
The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
All in all, a very enjoyable stay in a very comfortable, good value hotel
A bigger bed would have been nice. Although this is as minor quibble.

The location was good.
The size of the room. It was very small.

The hotel is very nice. It is a bit tight to enter as you are in the way of the waiting staff & standing in the restaurant/ bar area. We were on the top floor although very nice with coffee machine fridge mini bar it is a smaller room. For a night it was ok but we would look to book a larger room next time. This was the only available room left.
The size of the bed. It was a bit tight for a good nights sleep in some parts including the bathroom you have to duck down. The TV was at a strange angle over to the right.

Location was brilliant
Breakfast was too expensive for what we had. Added cost, for a very small amount. The Continental breakfast was adequate
The cost of the evening meal was too expensive with no choice

From the moment we entered we felt so welcome. The staff were friendly and so accommodating. The room was small and the ceiling was sloping to my side of the bed -so quirky! The bathroom was cleverly lit and beautiful. I loved the views of the Angel pub over the way and the pretty rooftops.
When we returned from seeing the legendary Steve Harley perform at the local festival it was late but warm and the garden area seemed closed. I was really keen to have a glass of wine out there. No problem. The lights were lit and we sat out there alone. Exquisite!
I enjoyed breakfast so much. Next time I come I would make sure we ate our dinner there too.
There was nothing I didn't like.

The ambience was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was very good. Brunch on Sunday was exceptional
Breakfast was a bit slow but food good

Lovely building and location.
Had a few issues, which were probably related to opening up after lockdown. No hot water in morning but easily resolved by providing adjacent room. Had to make specific arrangements re check-in, as arriving after 6.00 pm. Difficulty closing outside door to building when going out. Had to call for help.

The Great House is a beautiful historic building in a great town marketplace setting. We stayed in the Montmartre bedroom, which had a fantastic medieval vaulted ceiling and great views. Lovely touches in the room such as a decanter of sherry and a fresh fruit bowl. Breakfast was delicious! The staff were very professional and helpful.

Beautiful small hotel, room was small but comfortable.. The rest of staff were really helpful. The village is beautiful and full of history, so great to walk round.
Breakfast was over priced and the waiter was slow and unorganised. The stay was over priced for the room size too.
4.5
Friendly staff, great restaurant and cosy room.
The bed in the ‘Boheme’ room is very small and, if two people are staying, one person needs to crouch under the inward sloping roof to get around the bed. This is all made clear in the listing, but worth pointing out. The room itself is very cosy, nicely decorated and has high ceilings (apart from the slope).
