Location was a little isolated but no problem with a car. Staff were very friendly and obliging.
Food was excellent with plenty of choice. Grounds were surprisingly extensive and well maintained. The pool would have been well used if the temperature had been conducive. Views from the garden were a delight.
No dislikes. Would recommend to others.

We liked the friendly staff and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The food for dinner and breakfast was excellent quality and individually prepared. Their large and attractive gardens was a bonus.

Lovely choice of breakfast menu. Cooked to order.
Nothing maybe the weather could have been better but that’s not the Hotel’s fault!

Made to feel very welcome immediately. The host, Emily, was very approachable and friendly throughout our stay. Food, evening and morning, was excellent, ambience of the whole property was superb. Room great size and value, we are already looking to return during Easter time!
Book your stay and enjoy!

We stayed as my daughter was getting married the next day nearby, we were late arriving but nothing was too much trouble and our evening meal was superb. The team were welcoming and the hotel facilities were excellent

I had a wonderful stay. I had been away all week and was glad to be nearly ready to go home so the warm welcome was appreciated. The hotel and especially the staff continuously exceeded me expectations from the friendly helpful service; the carafe of sherry in my room to the complementary cake and coffee in the lounge. Simply excellent. I would like to thank Emily, Bonny, Carol, Ashley and Juliet (Carol's sister) for taking such good care of me. I will definitely stay again if I am in the area.

What a wonderful stay! As soon as we arrived the hotel was so welcoming, staff, log fire, views etc! The staff could not have done enough for us. I went with family and my parents, who live close to the hotel, joined us for dinner in the hotel's restaurant, we all had a fabulous evening. Shout out to the absolutely lovely staff, who made the dinner and stay memorable for us, but most of all for my elderly parents. We were upgraded to a gorgeous room, with stunning views too! Thank you!!

The overall look of the hotel from the outside and it's location. The cosy feel and the friendliness of all the staff.
Complimentary tea and cakes on arrival was very welcome and a lovely touch as was the complimentary cocktail on the first evening . The extra touches in our room,eg sherry ,a bottle of water.A plentiful tray with tea, coffee and hot chocolate and a tea pot too!
There was only one thing and not a huge issue at all but in room 3 where we stayed you could often smell cabbage /greens cooking! We must have been above the kitchen.

The breakfast was really good, lot of choice and our dog had a sausage each morning. Nothing was too much trouble. We had two evening meals which were both very good.
Our room faced the road although noisy during the daytime once evening came it went quiet and we had no problems sleeping.

This is the best UK hotel we have stayed in. There were little added extras provided at no cost. The staff could not have been more friendly if they tried. Absolutely first class service, lovely people. Nothing was too much trouble
You must have a car to get there. It is very much in the middle of nowhere with a dangerous dark road. Nearest village about half a mile away and no shops.

The hotel was extremely clean. A wide choice of options for breakfast was offered. In addition evening meals were offered which were of an excellent standard if a little pricey. Complimentary tea/coffee with cake given on arrival. The outdoor pool was a very.much appreciated added bonus. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to accommodate any request. We did have an plumbing issue in our bathroom which they dealt with quickly. On the whole a great stay and would recommend.
The only drawback was our room faced out to the main road which could be quite noisy during the day but was quieter in the evening/night. Not the hotel's fault of course but something to be aware of when booking.

Everything! The welcome, the lounge, the room, the gardens, the food. And the numerous little additional touches that made this stay really something very special. Our welcome, with tea and cake in the lounge (no charge), was especially welcome after a stressfull drive over the Quantocks in appalling weather. We didn't get to see the extensive gardens and swimming pool until the next day.
The stairs were a bit tricky, but it is an ancient building.
