Fabulous hotel and lovely staff. Great location. We would definitely stay here again.

My stay was fine, but having checked the receipt I was given on leaving, discovered they have my name correct but a comp

I’ve stayed there many times over the last 25 years, so it’s familiar to me. I travel to Durham to visit family, only stay for a couple of days, so it’s perfect for me.

Depending on what room you’re in, it can be a bit difficult to find your way around!!

Otherwise hotel, location were good. Parking was congested

Location for the open day at Durham uni is very good.

The bedding stank - as if the sheets and pillow cases had been washed in dirty water or left in the machine after washing - I had to spray my perfume on the bed without that we could sleep the sheets were making up sick.

Nice friendly hotel

The staff member on check in was very helpful and friendly (all the staff were friendly). The room was a very nice size and the sofa bed was all made up for us. This was a nice surprise after a very long graduation day. The main bedrooms were nice and clean with a Nesspresso coffee machine, that is always a plus for me. We will definitely stay again.

The bathroom was a little dusty, with a few cobwebs and a dusty mirror. The bathroom in general could do with an update. The coffee from the machine in the breakfast room wasn’t very nice, the fried eggs were greasy and hard and they were a little slow at refilling the food.

Disappointing and would not recommend

Location was good

Breakfast was very expensive and quality and range of food very poor Reception staff were efficient but with no customer service. Ignored upon returning from dinner and when passing by the desk.

Perfect hotel to explore Durham from. We will be back.

The location was perfect - a 5 minute walk to the Cathedral. Food was very good in the restaurant. Good size carpark. We will definitely stay here again.

Pleased we stayed but you go to another venue on next visit

Location - right in the heart of Durham, our room had a lounge area as well as a bedroom - very clean and tidy Everything worked in the room and had no issues at all

£11 additional for parking for the night which does not guarantee you a space. Overpriced but your paying for location I guess Check in at 3:00pm is fixed due to 12:00pm check out You can pay to check in earlier Breakfast was carnage - Not enough room and we ended up taking our to the bar area

Overall very good however the bed/mattress joined made the stay slightly disappointing.

Old school charm with modern comfort

Excellent location within hotel and within Durham. Very nice bathroom and shower cubicle. Comfortable bed. Good cupboard space.. Good lighting.

Poor breakfast - poor quality bacon, ran out of scrambled eggs, poor selection of fruit and pastries - the croissant was soggy & obviously just heated up in a microwave, toaster totally inadequate for the number of guests - VERY slow. Altogether not worth the price.

Warm room, nice large comfortable bed

More expensive than I expected for an ok hotel room, nothing exceptional. Couldn't get any reception on TV to get the local news and had to sign into own account for TV iplayers. Online media advertises a pool but apparently there isn't one now, very misleading.

Great place to stay for my visit with family.

The location is great for town and the ability to park means that I can use the car park when shopping or eating in town. The room is large enough and has a fridge which is really useful.

The bed isn't particularly comfortable. Needs either a better mattress or a really thick mattress topper as it didn't make for a great night's sleep. However I've stayed in other rooms there where the bed was more comfortable.

Served its purpose but breakfast was a complete waste of money

Breakfast was the biggest disappointment with poor selection and almost all hot breakfast items empty on both mornings and staff not very slow (more than 15 minutes) to replenish any of the items

Warm welcoming stay

Staff so friendly-location great- cosy vibe to the hotel-nice breakfast

Rooms dated and hallways. The drinks at the bar were super expensive Yea and coffee facilities were left in a cupboard so we didn’t know they was there till we was about to leave
