The onsens on property were great.
The cost was way too much for this facility. Considering sleeping on the floor and changing your own linens. Uncomfortable stay and the most expensive room for our entire trip of 3 weeks in Japan. We stayed at very nice properties at all other cities for lower cost per night.
4.3
ambience, cleanliness, approachable staff, onsen ofc
Nothing

I really enjoyed my stay at Hakone Tent. The staff were incredibly friendly and I was able to make amazing friends during my stay here! The guesthouse is clean and the location is very convenient

The apartment was absolutely beautiful with magical views. This private apartment was just across the street from the main building with two private onsens, laundry and a wonderful bar/cafe. Really delicious pizza and affordable, too. So good we ate there both nights of our stay! We used both of the onsens and they were great. It was perfect for us since our whole family could enjoy it all together privately. The owner was a joy to meet and chat with as were all the staff. It was a great location for access to the trains, cable car and buses.
Nothing. It was really wonderful.

First time staying at a hostel type of accommodation but at hakone tent, it didn’t make me feel like staying in hostel shared accommodations at all. I booked for a private room and feel a lot of privacy. Staffs was friendly and guests were respecting each other. No concern on noises as reported from other reviews at all.
Room for improvement will be more choice of food at the bar as most of restaurant around gora and hakone closed at 4pm

Great place for a couple of nights stay. Staff were fantastic, place has a handy little bar and restaurant which is reasonably priced. It has 2 onsens, both open 24 hours which are amazing. They own the coffee shop down the road which does great food, 10% off if you are staying at the guesthouse. Great location to reach the Hakone ropeway. Would definitely recommend!!
Nothing, futons could benefit from being thicker for more comfort but were fine for a couple of nights

the property was very clean with a lovely atmosphere. I had a private room with a bed which was hugely appreciated! the staff were lovely especially Yuki. the use of the onsens were a great touch, and very easy to book. the food in the restaurant was also so good, everything in the local area shuts really early so I ate there both nights
nothing

onsen! the owner there was very approachable! even discussed considering to hire me to work for her! Amazing!
the wifi

Yuki is an amazing host. Thank you for your hospitality and help.
For people with sciatica, mind the stairs.

Super-friendly staff, clean, good location right near the station, nice onsen. Delicious pizzas for dinner!
Only 2 x toilets upstairs to share between 10 x bedrooms. Very patchy wifi.
4.3
Staff is very nice and helpful. The Guest house has 2 private onsen and a bar serving food and snacks. It is only 3mn walk from Gora station
4.3
AMAZING STAFF, very cute and pretty, well maintained, great location
this was probably our error, but we thought there were private washrooms so we were surprised that they were shared. there was only 2 toilets on our floor (that was never an issue for us) but during busier season could be a challenge.
4.3
Two excellent private onsen for hotel guests only, really lovely and easy to get a time slot to use. Staff are very kind and friendly, most spoke English well. Food and bar were nice also. Nice location in Gora, easy walk to station, cable car, cafes etc.
Be aware you will be sleeping on a traditional futon on the floor - for me not so comfortable but probably ok if you're used to it!
4.3
location, design, private onsen, free coffee and tea, pizza & drinks are available in the evenings, close to a cool cafe restaurant, great vibe overall.
-sleep: you sleep on a mattress on the floor which is fine generally, but here the mattress was very uncomfortable.
- you don’t get any amenities like in other Japanese hotels.
- there are many stairs and they are steep.
- you can hear noise from outside the rooms (they give free earplugs)
- room is very minimal
4.3
Staff good, great location for the train and ropeway, nice lounge for chilling out in.
It's very basic, which I don't mind, but it's way overpriced for what it is (we paid US$150 for room only). For this you are expected to bring your linen downstairs, there aren't pyjamas or water in the room etc. I wouldn't expect these at a hostel, but I wouldn't expect that price tag either.
4.3
Great location and friendly staff. Clean room.
The pictures don't seem to fit the actual room description. There is no bathroom in the room. Moreover, the hot spring facilities are not available most of the times. We had to queue up and arrange in advance. The previous group was late at one night, so we had to wait for 15 minutes. At the second night, we booked much earlier but our time was changed, so we had to come much later. Then, the hot spring was not hot. Overall, quite a lot of issues with the hot spring facilities disappointed us although the facilities were offered free. I'd suggest that the host comes up with a better solution with the booking system with the hot spring rooms. Otherwise, the additional bonus facilities do not live up to the expectation.

If you are outgoing this might be the right choice for you, because the staff wanted to talk with you every time (even when you can't speak Japanese). The acess and reserving system of the two onsen was easy and one of them was very comfortable when it comes to water temperature and size.
If you want privacy I wouldn't recommend this guest house. Because it's actually a hostel, you will meet people everywhere and everyone wants to interact with you. Sadly all three days we stayed there, the showers weren't working. Also one of the onsen was not really comfortable (small, colder water). After 10 pm it has to be quiet according to the house rules, but before that time it's actually extremely loud because there is a bar located in the first floor.
4.3
Great location, great staff and amenities. Really clean and well maintained place.
4.3
Better than what we expected, staff were very nice, room was spacious and the Onsen was a great experience! Would come again whenever I'll come to hakone
4.3
The property was extremely homey/Cozey. The staff, food, drinks, and onsen were all amazing!
nothing. it was great
4.3
Private onsen that could help save a couple of bucks. Helpful and friendly host. Last order for food and drinks is at 9pm which is good, considering that almost all amenities in Gora town close early. Nice pizza and sake
WiFi for level 2 is lacking, couldn't get connected to internet during most of the stay. Occasional traffic noise but it's ok. Ear plugs are provided.
4.3
Everything was good.
The 2 onsen are available for reservation, they are really nice to relax.
The guesthouse is close to Gora Station.
4.3
very cosy
too bad the bathroom is quite cold after taking a shower
