Lovely, every timd i stay here the staff are always very nice and happy ☺️

The historic building is beautiful. Its quiet and not far from shops. I stay here every time i visit auckland. The spa bath is what tops it off tho ❤️ and the price of the room never changes. Thank you 🙏

Unhygienic and bad service

There was food (candy) from a previous guest under the bed. I saw this as soon as I walked in. The bedside tables were thick with dust. There was also hair in the bathtub from a previous guest. The bed cover also had crusty stains. This hotel should not be considered 4 star. It is so unclean and unhygienic. I showed the receptionist the evidence. She said the dust was there because the window was open before I arrived. That makes no sense. I had to leave a day earlier due to the unclean state of the room. The receptionist promised a refund of one night. I am still yet to receive this. Absolutely terrible stay and worse service.

Gr8 Location, Good for a cpl o f nights for a place to sleep.

The location for visiting Onehunga Dress Smart, Sylvia Park, and surrounding suburbs was great, easy to find, friendly staff, check-in and out easy peasy. Good off-street parking, the Devereux was ideal for a place to use as a base to sleep for myself and my daughter for cpl of nights. For a brief Akld stay, it was all good!

Kitchenette items lacking, only had 2 b'fast bowls, mugs, knife, fork n spoons. No dinner plates or bowls to heat stuff in the microwave. Smoke detector not in the ceiling but found in a kitchen drawer with NO battery and no outside light for going down the stairs when leaving the unit at night.

Comfy bed and clean, Handy location. Room OKish?

Smell of smoking in room. ( A Non smoking hotel???) Electrical multi point plug all exposed for: TV, Heater, Fan and water jug. Wires all loose. Not safe and not al all professional. Needs to be fully prewired to comply

Would do at a pinch.

Staff very friendly and helpful, good off-street parking, family room at the back of the main building was well sized, comfortable enough.

A bit old and in need of attention, not particularly clean, cobwebs and spiders, spilt sugar at the tea/coffee facilities.

I would not stay there again

The location.

We were put in a small back room. No air conditioning or microwave oven ( as there was one stated). Holes in walls, dirty and very old beds.

Excellent value for money, comfortable & accessible.

Great location to be in, not too close to city centre but accessible. A few good eateries on the same road which was convenient. Bed was lovely a comfortable with comfy pillows.

A few little splatters on the bin and wall in the bathroom which wouldn’t have taken much to wipe up. Bath towels - I know I should take my own, but the sizing of them is just off. Would have gone round a child comfortably, but not big enough for an adult.

Add was misleading, run down and subpar.

It was close to the concert venue

The curtains were moldy The Rubbish bin in the bathroom was moldy The bathroom was dirty The linen didn't appear clean The rooms were freezing and the windows barely shut and didn't lock The heater gave off no heat There was no mirror in one of the rooms The stairs were so narrow that they were a falls risk The staff were disinterested The front door didn't lock despite our best efforts They left milk out in the sun that could then not be used for the coffee in the rooms

Not a good experience

The location was handy

The stains on the bedding and lack of cleanliness in the bathroom were very off-putting. No smoke alarms, curtain hanging loose, toilet brush looked like it had been used by many for many years. Disgusting. No tray for cutlery and minimal kitchen utensils. Couldn't go out slider door as rubbish in backyard and trip hazards.. gaps between concrete uneven oavers and side of building

Good quiet location, easy parking, decor a little tired but reasonable value for money.

Smooth and pleasant check in. Plenty of on-site parking

Could smell smoke in the room - coming from adjacent room possibly. Handle on shower not secure and bathroom a bit "tired".

It just felt homely 😘 the spa bath was a bonus, I sure made the most of it👍

The man next door couldn't stop coughing and that woke me a couple of times 😒

Great value and character that compensates for relatively basic facilities

We liked the quiet, vintage atmosphere and the character of the building and surrounding gardens. It's in a convenient location within an inexpensive Uber ride from the airport and with easy access to the Newmarket shopping area. There are shops and cafes within a few hundred yards on Remuera Rd

The vintage character of the hotel is also apparent in the lack of facilities and basic comforts of the the rooms (especially the bathroom, quite cold in mid-July weather). Still, for the price it's great value and we were ok with it.

The room was akin to a boarding hostel student accommodation and on inspection they would not refund me

The room was not worth more than budget backpackers payment

This is a lovely old converted mansion and we are repeat guests.

Beautiful antique room, warm and in the middle of Remuera with off street parking and excellent value. Staff are friendly and the room is spotlessly clean.

As long as you do not have expectations of modernity this place is great, but the bathroom is small and the bed is a bit soft.

Very quiet and tidy.

Room was awesome and quiet but found the bed just a bit stiff. Shower was adequate but just a bit tight for a more robust size person. The welcome was friendly and informative.

A quirky, but comfortable, place to stay in a very safe area.

The room was very large, which was appreciated. Although we were near the front door, we were not disturbed by any noise. The hotel was within walking distance of cafes, restaurants and interesting shops.

Good location with parking onsite. Easy walk to a couple of locations for eating and drinking as cannot heat or prepare anything onsite. Only coffee and tea in the room

Tired and confused decor, lack of repairs and maintenance, No iron or ironing board, very little room for clothing. Exceptionally noisy via very think walls. Not a restful night
