Breakfast was tasty
Alan and Gustavo in the reception were nice
Choosing the bunk bed closed in with the walls made it more intimate and nice. And was good that next to the bed there was extra space to put my stuff.
Lack of: electricity (my phone died and plans changed because I couldn't charge at night and morning, the fan didn't work and the room was hot, lack of hot water in one shower, lock of the main door didn't work well. Didn't feel secure enough.
The lockers were a bit small
In the mornings it was a bit noisy by the workers and that used to wake me up...
I moved to another hostel in my last night in san pancho
Bottom line: if there was electricity I would stay more. If they would take care of all the rest (privacy+noise), main door lock, to make sure there hot water in the shower, and that the water in the sink of the restroom dont flood to my legs but straight to the plants near it, it'd be much better.

The staff is great (Alan was very warm and welcoming, like your good friend in San Pancho) and the common areas are nice.
Private rooms are comfortable
The dorms are very basic (Some are more in a hallway than in their own rooms).

Shower was Hot
Aircon was cold
Window went out to the hallway and the window didn't lock (poor security)
Bed Was hard and not comfortable (pretty standard in mexico though)
Social Vibe was weird
Damp smell in the room
Room was very dark
Location was bad, far walk away from the beach - there are better hostels in the area

great staff, great location
room is pretty basic, no soap/shampoo

The short hair lady at reception was really great, lovely person and very helpful. We got the private room with balcony, the size was huge and deco was beautiful.
my girlfriend literally couldn't sleep for days. You really need earplugs, the noise comes from everywhere, roosters, dogs, weird screams... It's not really the hostel fault, but it's somehow the noisiest place we've stayed - which you wouldn't expect considering it's in a fairly quiet area.
Everyday of our stay the breakfast was the same : fruits and a piece of banana bread

Liked the breakfast and especially the super nice, friendly and helpful staff. Good hostel, clean and comfortable.
A little far from the beach

Very minimal...I guess you get what you pay for
The man at the desk was attentive and helpful

The hostel was very clean, spacious and the breakfast was healthy as we got fruits with banana bread. I loved the coffee! The staff is super nice and helpful and i loved the hot showers and that we could refill our water, that saves so much plastic!
We were in the dorm, unfortunately people run by to use the toilets, which makes it a bit uncomfortabel. also the common area has a bit of a cold vibe - didn´t really feel like spending there too much time, even though it is pretty

The staff are super friendly and helpful! The breakfast and common space is inviting and comfortable, it's nice to sit and have breakfast together and meet fellow travelers.
Our suite room was close to the neighbours lot which houses a few roosters. You need to wear earplugs at night.
No wifi in our room. Some rooms had connection though.

The breakfast was really nice.
the dorms didn’t have real walls between them nor between the reception, so it was really loud & bright e. g. when a person of another room woke up in the morning. The big dorm room was more of a hallway to the bathrooms & to the other rooms, than it was a room. Moreover, some of the fans didn’t work.

it was a nice location in town, about a 10 min walk from the beach
pillows could be a bit more comfortable

Clean private room with bathroom
Nice place, kitchen lacking basics like salt, oil - you need to bring the cooking spices!!

I loved the location and the main area. We had to move to a private room for our last night as our shared room had ants. The private room was amazing and had great AC with a clean private bathroom.
The closed rooms had ants, was not lit and was very humid. The open bunks were very exposed as it was facing the only bathroom. The bathrooms and showers were very dirty. The beds in the bunks were the worst part.

Breakfast was nice and fine for the price. People in the kitchen were quite friendly and the common area is quite nice aswell.
People at the reception (one exception excluded) were not friendly and we did not feel welcome at all.
There was mold in the room and it did not smell very well. In general the room did not look like in the pics and the bed was not comfortable. I would not book again.

Staff is pretty rude. Trying to set me up in a room with no working AC. Stayed for three nights and almost two of them were with no propane to cook or hot shower. Asked for drinking water usually provided and said they had no money to get it. Asked to communicate with the owner but it was denied to me. Not recommended at all.

The room was excelent, hot water and towels, nice and friendly staff working there, diego and matias really nice and helpfull
Theres no wifi at the rooms at all, only at the lobby, and theres no breakfest at all most of the nights i stayed there.
2.5 / 5.0
room size
neighbourhood is loud, the rooms are either facing a wall (yes the windows are facing a wall), or a court full of roosters singing the whole day

The welcome at reception is poor - they just give you your key and don't explain anything. Nothing about breakfast, Wifi, no one who shows the place. When you ask staff a question they don't seem to care nor seem very knowledgable. We paid USD130 for two nights in a private room and it was not at all worth this kind of money. The room is extremely bare, we had a cockroach and a huge spider inside the room. But most of all we didn't get any sleep for two nights as you can literally hear every word of conversations in the common area. Hotel doesn't have or doesn't respect quiet hours. The travelers that it attracts don't respect others and are very loud. Extremely bad experience.

The breakfast was nice and simple. I stayed in a private room which was clean and simple. I felt safe staying here as a solo female.
I’m glad I didn’t stay in the dorms as they had no curtains or lockers.

Nothing
Everything. It was horrible. We went to Hostal San Pancho 5 years ago and we had a big crush on this place, it was very clean and the staff were very kind but this time it was verrrrry different. The room was very dirty, it smelled horribly bad (strong humidity smell), the room was very humid, the sheet smelled bad, the shower wasn’t clean at all and to top it all off they had really big problems with electricity to the point that our AC wasn’t working right in our room and I’m pretty sure everybody in the hotel was having problems. We also asked the 2 employees at the front desk 1 more pillow and they seemed very bothered to just stand up of the couch and get us one. Cherry on top, they brought us a dirty pillow with someone’s old dry spit on it !!!!!!
We ended up leaving 3 days earlier because we couldn’t stand the room anymore. We told the girl at the front desk all of that and no one offered any kind of refund.
I sadly don’t recommend this place for anyone to stay.

The upstairs kitchen area and seating area.
I was staying downstairs in the hostel area. The bunk bed mattress was really uncomfortable and positioned in a corridor area leading out to the back garden so semi open to the outside. I felt a bit like I was camping and the 7 cockerels in the next door garden burst into song each morning from 5 am. bring earplugs! It wouldn’t take much to improve the privacy around the bunk beds.

It is in San Pancho
The kitchen and cooker were pleasant to use
Pretty dead. Absolutely no atmosphere
If you stay in a dorm you are essentially sleeping in a corridor, outside, so it is extremely noisy, there's no privacy and pretty cold during the night.
You have to pay extra for breakfast

The location was not bad. It wasn't very loud at night. The common area was nice!
I have spent countless nights in hostels and this one by far had the worst beds. It felt like you were sleeping straight on the metal springs.
1.5 / 5.0
there is a nice common area
it’s basically impossible to sleep with the lack of walls and roosters next door
