Great hotel - would stay again

What a great hotel ! , We just needed a one night cheap stop over and was pleasantly surprised at Blancos. Rooms were clean and huge . Bathroom was also huge . Breakfast was included in the price and although was a little poor with selection ie no pastries just English fry up and a bowl of fruit salad with yoghurt , it was delicious . We ate at the restaurant on the evening and the food was lovely and well priced. The hotel was very busy with many guests , so obviously well known in the area and used a lot. Its in a great location .

We arrived very late after an evening with friends , we basically were locked out of the hotel at 2.30am and it took a long time for the night staff to unlock the door and let us in. We were told the reception is manned 24 hrs and our late arrival would not be a problem yet we stood in the rain , banging the door , ringing the doorbell and phoning the number given on the door sign , getting slightly concerned we would not get in . We did see the funny side of it and it did not cause any issues with the rest of our stay.

Very good

Room was lovely, bed was very comfortable and definitely larger than a double. Room was nice, clean. Staff were great.

Wasn't very keen on the look of breakfast but I'm a fussy eater, partner did try it said and said it was okay. We arrived late because of work so missed the restaurant hours but would definitely come back and try evening meals.

A comfy Premier Inn-style hotel, but with much better facilities.

This is a locally-run alternative to a Premier Inn in terms of room size and layout. The big plus is that it has a large on-site restaurant with a well-stocked bar. The meal quality was very good, as was the service.

My room door rattled at night when the nearby corridor door was opened causing a rush of air down the corridor. Mind you, it didn't keep me awake!

It's always a good place to stay, never any issues and a really good breakfast.

Have stayed here a few times, but won’t be going back.

Location and facilities were good, although some fittings are looking a little tired.

Breakfast menu was awful. Just basics and no concessions to medical dietary requirements.

Very clean, friendly staff and great value

No WiFi, we could see about five WiFi points but there no internet to the points. Tried to raise the issue with reception but they couldn’t understand the problem

Very good

Nice clean room, staff were friendly. There was a wedding party going on whilst my mother stayed there, so there was a nice lovely atmosphere. Looking forward to staying again soon. Everything was fabulous, only slight issue was the shower (see below).

The shower was over the bath. The bathroom could've done with an extra rail to get in and out of the bath. Plus it could've done with a bath-shower mat. My elderly mother didn't use the shower there, as she was too nervous to use it in case she fell.

Business traveller

I have used the Blanco's for a number of years and I have never had any problems. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is good and plentiful. Free in room wifi, with comfortable bed. Free on site parking and breakfast from 07.00am.

Nothing really. If I was picky, then although the breakfast is good, it is buffet style and does not do fried eggs.

The room and hotel generally needs updating still suck in the 70's. Also food wasn't the best I've had.

Lovely clean hotel as always Spacious rooms and a massive bed is a bonus

Lift was out of order , I'm normally lazy , but I suppose it made me walk them haha.

Not good

Not good soft eggs came hard requested fried egg yolks solid no took back not fresh egg done again but recoiled one taken back asked tomato sauce she forgot breakfast cold waiting for it to be put right. Toilet roll only half of one.always come here change hotel next time.Room not ready when arrived 3.30pm.Orders 4pm meal !!!! No time to refresh after journey.

Go back to as you were clean rooms trained staff.Could not get drinks staff to busy talking.Tonic came in my vodka to the brim of my glass not how you serve this drink.So sorry to complain we always stay at your hotel always clean and good service, not this time.

Once we moved rooms it was ok

Nothing about our first room. But our second was better. Breakfast wS a good choice.

First room marks on walls and ceiling. Lamp didn't work, cobwebs on pelmet Drinking glasses in bathroom were dirty. Grout in bathroom was dirty. Second room needed new batteries gor TV remote and a plug for bath.

Very very good value. Even had air con in the bedroom!

Every where spacious and very well maintained. Very large comfortable lounge tastefully turned out. Likewise the bar and restaurant. Lots of parking. Great breakfast, even had warmed plates. Large very clean bedroom.

Pleasant and friendly

Staff were very friendly and the location was good

No armchair in the Superior room. Breakfast was lack lustre, finished by 9am abruptly and all cleared away even though we were still sitting there - and the toaster took ages!
