Beautiful property, I always chose to come here when I come to bournemouth, The staff are always very friendly and helpful.
The room we were given was nicer than what we booked and it was stunning, Sea view balcony, king bed and floor to ceiling windows, overlooking the garden and the sea and the room was very spacious.
It’s always a joy staying here and as a bonus, it’s a 5 minute walk away from everything you could need including the beach.
(The TV could do with looking at in room 60)
No complaints otherwise.

Size of hotel was impressive and lounge near bar had very comfortable sofas
I booked 2 rooms and asked for them to be close together as 1 room was for my father who's had a stroke and is unable to talk but also gets confused easy, the other room was for myself and my mum who has alziehmers , I told hotel of the situation but they put us in 2 rooms that where quite far from Each other, corridors, steps and quite a few doors away. My father never found our room once, and continously got lost ,he was always inside hotel luckily . Just thought 2 rooms next to each other should have been so easy to allocate.

Undergoing gradual refurbishment this former Grand Hotel offered us very spacious accommodation in an updated room with a fabulous sea view. Bar and restaurant offered average food at a very good price. Undercover parking was available, which was important to us. Lovely location.
Plenty of bedding, nice bathroom.
Reception and restaurant staff very pleasant.
Lift was out of order, and we were offered help with luggage which did not come. Had to lug cases up to the second floor.
No bath mat provided.

All as expected nice location and room.
We were there for 4 days and no new toilet paper or clean towels put in the room. Tea and coffee in the rooms could also have been added or at least been sufficient for the time we were there.

The hotel is beautiful, although a more classical hotel it still felt fresh and all the paintwork looks new.
The health club is very relaxing, we sat and read the papers looking out over the sea. Our adult children joined us in the afternoon to use the pool, sauna and jacuzzi, very pleasant.
We went for a lovely walk around the garden before enjoying a relaxing drink in the beautiful longe.
We enjoyed everything.

Nice old building, good location right at the seafront, swimming pool, lovely garden, lounge.
Dated furniture, staff friendly but unexperienced. Lift out of order during our stay. Overpriced parking.

Nice hotel close to the beach and town
Could not get a cup of coffee in the morning without buying a breakfast . Just wanted a cup of coffee in the garden before I left my stay .

Trivelig betjening, fint uteområde bak hotellet
Wifi var ikke gratis. Hotellet trenger litt opp pussing. Det knirket veldig i gulvene i gangene

Nothing absolutely disgusting
Everything TV never worked, paint pealing off the walls pubic hair in the bath, staff were like prison officers.

I loved the spa facilities, the bed was comfortable, the room was a nice size, great lounge area where you could work in peace. Lovely big garden. Staff friendly and accommodating and welcoming, especially Belle on reception team.
Kettle was dirty, buffet breakfast very limited selection. Wifi in the rooms not being free and costing £7 was stupid.

The hotel was good not to far from the sea front. The staff wear very helpful.
I didn't like the food. Breakfast was cold where it's cooked and put up on hot plates. Nothing is fresh. Veg from freezer. And there were people smoking weed on are floor 5floor. Wasn't very plesent.

Lovely location and hotel facilities. Food & drink prices were very good
The hotel is less pet friendly now and that could have a big impact on many people who have stayed there. Room was very hot with no air con & windows were very difficult to open
9.0
Location, size and character of hotel.
The room was lovely but very hot. Windows only opened a fraction and no air con. We had to have the fan on even though it was a rainy, cool Bank Holiday. The room would be unbearably hot in the summer.

It’s position - very central. Easy to get to facilities in central Bournemouth and the seafront. We also like the historic nature of the hotel. We had a sea view room as we were only there one night. It had been renovated and it was very comfortable and clean.
It was fine for the one night. So nothing that we didn’t like. We’ve stayed here before though - it would be a different review for the previous visit!

Location
There was an extra charge for the swimming pool and internet in your room.
The shower in the room was not working correctly the switch was broken on the bath making it hard to turn on and off

Nothing. All great

We loved how close it was to the beach and city centre, as well as the location and look of the lovely hotel.
We were woken up due to people chasing a ‘robber’ on the scaffolding. Though it was a little strange we shook it off and enjoyed the rest of our stay.

Great value for money, Loved the fact it was pet friendly! Rooms were spotless and bed very comfortable.
Had to check out at 10am, Thought this was extremely early!

I was upgraded unexpectedly to a much nicer room with doors to garden and the receptionist who checked me in was exceptional.
The location is fantastic
Clean public toilets
Friendly staff
The decorations and surroundings
Cracking, walking noise from above rooms kept me up at night
Continental Breakfast selection was poor with choices
1.0
The location, its right next to the beach and it easy to get to town.
The car park is closed, so you can either use one next to the hotel (£20 for 24hrs) or one further away, that you need to walk back from.
The Hotel needs a clean, carpets throughout are grubby and looks like they are only hoovered in the middle and definitely not on the stairs. The first room was so far away up in twisty windy stairs (618) and badly signposted. It was so strongly smelling of cigarette smoke and overpowering bleach smell in the bathroom we asked to move room, the staff changed the room but made no comment to us at all, not even a smile.
Windows in the room didn't open properly so it was stuffy and hot, any noise carries from room to room and also from staff or other guests in the corridor.
No iron in the room, and the wardrobe door was damaged. No one answers the phone, so you have to trek back to the front desk to speak to someone.

It was shocking. Had rats running around outside our window. Crack pipes on the roof along with sex toys.
Everything. The room was not what we booked no free WiFi. Had to pay 24 quid for parking and complete state out our window. No air conditioning
10.0
The property is very antique which makes it unique. The creeks on the floor was somehow very satisfying as it represents the history of the building.
4.0
Location as close to beach
Rooms were dated. No phones in room. No fridge in room. No room service. No housekeeping. Scaffold erected at front.
4.0
the only thing that was positive for me was the location.
much could be mentioned. corridors very bad marked, not sure where to go. The room needs refurbishment more the whole hotel. It was dirty lots of dust in the bathroom hair next to the cupboard old socks ughhh

Great location, with views over the sea and not far from the centre, rooms are a good size
Room decor and hotel in general feels tired and would benefit from updating in parts, this said the rooms are a good size, the beds are comfy and the shower/bathrooms are always tidy. The pool we thought was part of the deal but found out at the hotel it was an extra payment which felt expensive for the size of the pool.

I liked the double room was very big.The bed was very big and extremely comfortable and the pillows too ,there were the best .It felt like home the balcony and the view ,it was fantastic . Viewed fireworks on Friday ,ahhh amazing. Breakfast was very tasty ,so many meals cooked so well. I loved it..I will come again next time.
The issue of not offering room service to clean the room and toilets. In room 59 the toilet was holding less water in the cistern therefore it wold take time to be able to flush the toilet. It needs to be repaired
6.0
Close to the beach
Needed a good clean, painting and decorating, aggressive staff, uncaring staff, filthy dining room, food trays rarely replenished at meal time, etc.

Doesn't look like in the pictures, it's more old then you think
