Noting
Room a smelly and don’t think it’s basement rooms are safe
4.1
The bathroom had good water pressure and was relatively modern. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The pool and gym facilities were great and best of all was the staff that went above and beyond especially in the bar area.
The room décor was outdated and had an unpleasant smell went entering the room.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Meyrick and would certainly use again if we are going to visit Bournemouth again in the future. The room was very clean and tidy and the location was lovely. All staff we dealt with were polite and very helpful.

Lovely staff and great room

Room was clean and spacious. Swimming pool and spa were good.
It would have been good to have a mini fridge in the room.

Location - surrounded by trees, yet only a 10 minute walk into town centre (NB some of it steep). Staff - very pleasant, and did their best to address the fact that the room we were originally allocated (15) was NOT as described by booking.com. They let us use Room 4 for the 1 night that it was available, which DID have a desk, seating area and view, and WAS bright, and then Room 12 for the remaining 2 nights, which was a good size and did have a desk and seating area, but was quite dark, with no view. The beds were comfortable.
We were originally allocated twin room 15 - which was NOT as per the description on our booking: NOT "bright and elegant" but dark and poky (in the basement of the property, accessed by a long flight of outdoor steps); NO desk or seating area. NONE of the rooms we saw/used had the tea/coffee machine (only a kettle) or wardrobe (just a hanging space), or iron (you had to ask for one at reception, which was a 3 minute outdoor walk away, as was the restaurant, so we would have got soaked if it had rained), claimed by booking.com. All suffered from road noise even if the windows were shut (I had to buy earplugs to sleep through it), and none had air-con, so you had to open the windows to bring down the temperature in rooms facing the sun (Room 4 was too hot even though it was only 21C outside). In cold weather, I doubt if the small electric heater (on a timer) and heated towel rail would provide enough warmth. No room service or phone to the distant reception desk, and food quality/value and service from some of the junior staff (insufficient training?) were very variable. There were only a few parking spaces outside the lodge, so most guests had to try to find a space in the general club car park, which was a 5 minute walk away, and very busy.

Rooms were clean and well maintained. Free onsight parking. All of the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly.
Location isn't really as central as described and it wouldn't be possible for anyone either slightly infirm or disabled to get to the centre of the town without transport.

Very friendly staff.

Sauna/ steam room were closed for maintenance at the weekend for both days which was dissapointing and also only 3x day beds available.

The room had low beams in three places which wasn’t mentioned in the description. We are both tall and found this very restrictive. Especially as one of the height restrictions was above the bath so we could not stand up!

Staff at reception and breakfast were pleasant
Parking was crammed. I stayed on the top floor and room felt cramped in the eaves and the bathroom only had a bath tub with sloping roof above it so you had to sit down to shower. Breakfast was pretty plan vanilla to poor - bacon was not nice.

Great room, very clean. Good shower. Room was serviced daily as requested. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Was very convenient to walk into Bournemouth from the back of the Lodge, literally only 15 mins. Good options for breakfast served with a smile.
We weren’t told about the step down into Room 1 nor were there warning signs outside the room and unfortunately my husband did miss said step and jar his back as we entered the room for the first time. Luckily he wasn’t too seriously hurt. I did report this to the Manager on leaving as I do feel guests need to be aware, she thanked me for telling her and then said that ‘she knows the step is there and forgets about it every time’
Not sure if anything will be done but I’m sure that to comply with health and safety regs there should be a warning outside the room.
Just a little niggle for me was that there were no bath sheets, only bath and hand towels.

A mini fridge would have been great but evan so it was very good been provided with kettle and tea and coffee.

Room was good and the breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The staff at the reception and the bar were very helpful, friendly and polite. The golf course was good but a lot of dogs frequented the course.
The amount of dogs and general public on the golf course who did not seem to worry about the golfers on the course.

All of the staff were efficient, friendly and charming. The room was very comfortable and the bed was excellent with good support .

Great leisure hotel with very helpful staff. Great value for money. Friendly locals. Excellent location - short walk to the city and beach. Will be recommending to friends and family who want a sporty break by the sea.
Nothing. All good.
