Obidos is magical - the shop owner's are so tourist friendly without attitude - a little difficult for my sister to get to 2nd floor for bathroom use so people with mobility issues may have problem with stairs. Host was amazing - had a bit of confusion finding apartment but once in - truly a delight staying inside the walls of this charming Gothic city
the hoards of tourists that don't watch where they are going

House is OK. Clean and close to the main attractions.
We were a group of three adults and a baby, traveling in Portugal for more than 10 days and staying in various properties. Prior to arriving at this particular property, we had already checked into four other accommodations. In all those places, the hosts simply requested passport information for the adults, and upon providing it, we received the check-in details without any issues.
However, our experience at this property was vastly different. The host asked for our passports, and I promptly sent photocopies of the passports belonging to the three adults. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the property late in the evening (around 10 PM), the host refused to provide us with the check-in information, claiming that she needed to see the baby's passport as well, which I didn't have readily available. I explained our situation, emphasizing the cold weather, our exhaustion, and the fact that the passports were stored in our suitcase. Despite this, the host remained adamant and unsympathetic, insisting that I retrieve the baby passport. As a result, I had to hastily search through our suitcase on the street, locate the baby passport, take a photo, and send it to her. This entire ordeal lasted approximately 15 minutes, during which we were incredibly tired, cold, and burdened with a baby.
While I understand the necessity of complying with the law, it is worth noting that none of the other properties we booked prior to this one requested the baby's passport, despite the fact that all our reservations explicitly included the need for a crib. Furthermore, the host's communication throughout the process was exceptionally rude. It felt as though she had no regard for our well-being or the challenges we were facing with a baby. In her view, it was solely our problem for not having sent the baby's passport earlier.
Regrettably, this host's behavior had a detrimental impact on our overall experience in Obidos.

living inside this little village, the castle right there, is about as good as it gets. It’s quiet, real, all the comforts of home. Do you want to live here? Pretend. Note: and the hostess was kind in referring Bruno, the best local guide and historian. Surely ask!
it would be fun to come back here during a festival.

Perfect location in the middle of the town.
Everything was great.

Very cute house, so quiet at night. Has everything you need for a stay in Obidos.
Nothing.

Very cute typical house with all is needed for hosting 4 people. We loved every bit of it.
There was nothing in it that we didn't liked the house was well equipped, clean and very well located. Just a fair warning to people with difficulty walking: in Óbidos the streets are all tiny and paved with old cobblestones, the access to the house might be difficult for some because of the nature of the village.

Excellent communication with owner. Location is very central within Obidos walls, so easy to go in and out of apartment throughout the day. Apartment good sized. Washer for clothes. Kitchen has dishwasher, microwave and oven. Nespresso machine with a few pods included for your first morning (thank you!)
Because the apartment is within the city walls, you cannot drive to the apartment; you must walk uphill from a parking lot with your luggage, i.e. carry all your luggage with you to the apartment. This should not be underestimated - if you have lots of luggage (or heavy luggage), this is extremely stressful and difficult to do. You cannot book a taxi or anything - vehicles are forbidden to go inside the walls. This is not the fault of the apartment, but it is worth mentioning because in hindsight, I would not have booked this accommodation if I had known how difficult it would be. All accommodations within the wall will have this issue. So if this is an issue for you, consider booking an accommodation JUST outside the walls so you can park up to the accommodation and still be within easy reach of the accommodation.

Gabriela was great! The location convenient, and the place was clean

The location is fabulous. Inside the castle walls. The house was unbelievably clean. The host was very easy to contact. Good kitchen. Many fabulous restaurants nearby. The lady next door is a tile artist and does great work. This was a great place for a home base to explore the area.
A little more hand soap, dish soap and tp would have been nice. Just FYI, Obidos is not built for old people! Very hilly and uneven ancient cobblestones. We loved the village, but wished we were about 20 years younger! That's on us, not the fault of the village.

This house has everything you need for a short stay, with plenty of room, three beds, a kitchen and a laundry room. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and coffee maker!
Everything was great

loved the host. loved that the property felt new and fresh and well appointed. Host provided recommendations on great places to eat, as well as shower gel, laundry detergent, and tea/coffee.
Only that the neighbors light shines directly into the bedrooms. Needed to close the shutters but left them open for cool air flow. Nothing that the host could do anything about. She and the apartment are wonderful and highly recommended.
