Location was just perfect! Was the perfect size for our family and everyone just really enjoyed having their own space as well as the community areas. We will definitely be staying again.

We get together annually so we have stayed in many many VRBO locations over the years. This was not as great as most we've been to. The coffee maker died the day we arrived, and the owner brought one by the next morning. That attention was well appreciated. The cabin is very pretty and has room for 4 adults, although it is not as roomy as the photos seem to indicate. The location was good, however, my fault for not reading and noticing that this is not in fact ON Lake Lure but rather on a small lake in a neighborhood.
The ceiling fan in the loft sleeping area made such a horrific clunk but I switched some of the screws that were still there around and used it that way. I did notify them after we left, and they thanked me so assume that has been fixed. I would say the kitchen isn't well stocked but we travel with a seasoned cook so we may be harsh for that reason.
All in all, this house is fine and serves the purpose if you want to be in the area. The drive the Asheville is delightful and you can avoid most of the highway.

We had a great time! Beautiful view and enjoyed the lake and waterfall just down the way. My legs may be sore from all the steep steps but we loved it. Lol There are so many other things to see and do around the area we felt like we really made the most out of our vacation. Our only criticism would be no exhaust fans in bathrooms, you can hear everything on main level (which really didn’t bother us too much) and lots of spider webs out on the deck and on windows. Not a deal breaker for us though. No need to worry about hot water. There is plenty and while we would come in and
take shower after shower we never ran out and was still very hot. Thumbs up on that! Plenty of dishes, pots, pans, etc. Just a friendly note, (there are 2 can openers that didn’t work so we had to buy one.) I should have just left it there. Beds and pillows were comfy. We would definitely stay here again! And P.S. I’m a travel agent! You know I really wanted to stay here not to get a discount or commission since it’s VRBO. It didn’t disappoint.

Very relaxing location. Beautiful lake with great location without the crowds. Cabin was very clean. I would have loved to have 2 canoes. We did not use the one that was there because we wanted to canoe in pairs and not alone. I would stay there again. We were very close to the lake with sand beach area and nature trail.

The location was perfect! Across from the pavilion and atop a hill with perfect views of the lake. Peace and quiet reign ed suoreme. The house was perfect to suit our needs and the deck overlooking the lake was our constant hangout!! Kitchen was well equipped and the pool table was used a lot. The stone surrounds in the showers was striking. But the roads were were excellent...narrow in places but well taken care of. All in all...a memorable vacation in a lovely peaceful setting.

We had a great stay in the area was beautiful. I did think from the description that the beach was adjacent to the property or right down the steps in the backyard. Well that's a not exactly true but it is close and we had a lovely time

We rented this cabin out for my mother-in-law’s birthday weekend. She wanted to relax and stay in somewhere that had a great view and great scenery nearby and this place nailed it! The cabin was super cozy and clean upon arrival and when we had questions about anything Liz was quick to respond and help with any issues. Overall 5 star stay!

Beautiful location with nearby amenities. Only concern was the road to the cabin. Very sketchy, especially when it's raining or dark out.

I tried several times to get early check in. Had people coming from different states. Never received an answer. The house needs some updating. The house is advertised as four bedroom. It is a two bedroom, so it lacked privacy we were looking for. Had an ant problem.
The view from the mountains and lake was beautiful.

We really loved staying at this mountain cabin. The views were amazing and the waterfall and river right in the backyard was wonderful. Not too far from chimney rock and local restaurants. Would highly recommend.

Cozy cabin in a secure, gated community that was perfect for a family weekend! The cabin is tri-level so there is plenty of space for everyone. The basement game room is a nice addition that has a sitting area outside with a big swing. The upstairs porch overlooks the lake and the mountains and is a perfect spot for morning coffee. It’s a short, but steep, walk to the lake which is worth it if you have kids that need to burn off some energy. There is plenty of room to run, a small beach and ducks and fish to feed! This is a great rental and the owner was super easy to work with. We will definitely stay here again!

Cabin is beautiful, well laid out and decorated. However, on arrival we did not have needed towels, and sheets were damp. Spider webs in corners of windows in the home. One kayak paddle to use for a two person canoe (not usable. Have to ask owner for location and life jackets). The fire pit is not a fire pit but rather an old smoker (not a ring to sit around). Only two stools available for breakfast bar (rather than 4 pictured).

Loved everything
We loved this property and the entire area. We had so much fun as a family. Between the creek and the lake at the bottom of the steps and the incredible things to do and see within driving distance, it is well worth the visit. The cabin looks exactly like it does in the pictures. We were comfortable and felt completely relaxed and at home. We ate all our meals in the cabin and had everything available to us in the kitchen that we needed to be able to do that.

Amazing location with better views
The views at this location were absolutely amazing! Super quiet area, steps away from the lake and beach, doesn't get much better. Communication with property owners was super easy and responded right away. Absolutely plan on coming back to this location!

Great
Our Lake Lure stay was amazing. The cabin was cozy and clean. The home is walking distance from the beach and a short drive to downtown chimney rock. We so enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to come back. We especially loved eating dinner on the deck looking at the lake!

Log cabin trip
This was our first trip to the mountains and staying in a log cabin. It did not disappoint! It was exactly what we were hoping for. A true log cabin in the mountains experience. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to stay in and prepare meals and the view was why we never wanted to eat out, it was stunning. There were 8 of us and we were all comfortable and enjoyed the trip. Highly recommend

Secluded location, lake nearby, quiet area
To be 100% honest the place was not clean, yet you are charged $150 cleaning fee. The floors were very dirty. That’s the one main issue I had. Communication ways great. The lake is nearby, go down the steps, cross a street and you are there…steep steps! The house is spacious, comfortable. Kitchen is small yet comfortable, there is plenty of space for a family. Beds are okay. Bathroom was dark, water was awesomely hot. I have mixed feelings about the place, and I think the problem started with the dirty floors. Favorite part was the spacious deck.

My family enjoyed the spacious, cozy, relaxing cabin at Lake Lure.
It was easy check in and owner gave excellent check in and check our instructions. We recommend this to any family or friends who are looking for a relaxing getaway in a safe, enjoyable setting with lake and mountain views right on the decks!!

Great cabin but watch the fine print $$
Beautiful location, beautiful views, nice cabin. Clean, equipped
Downside: didn't see the cleaning fee not listed as part of nightly or total lodging fee. This was buried in owner's rules. Especially frustrating given need to strip beds, wash dishes, etc in addition to fee. Left us with frustrated experience.

Great location
We loved the cabin and it’s proximity to the lake and things to do in the surrounding area. The cabin could use a deep cleaning but was very comfortable. It had everything we needed and views were excellent. I would suggest that before visiting the Lake Lure Chimney Rock area do research and make plans. Restaurants, etc keep unconventional hours and close on odd days.

Great views - Terrible Hospitality and Cleanliness
My family and I spent a weekend at this property with amazing views and we had a great time but definitely not thanks to our host. We tried communicating with her prior to our arrival (as listed on the email sent to us with the arrival details) but never got an answer back. It was 9 of us split in 3 cars for obvious reasons, we disliked the unfriendly way she asked the 2nd car that got to the community gate “how many more cars are supposed to come?”, and she also said to the 3rd car “They really gonna keep calling” when we had a maximum of 5 cars that could be in this property. Cleanliness of the house was poor, there was spiderwebs and dust everywhere, the bathtub on the main floor was stained and sticky (I had to scrub and clean it before it was used) . We were charged 175 dollars after our check out for “housekeeping” when we had to take all the bedding and used towels to the laundry room and pretty much leave the house neat and in order, which we did not mind at all, but felt a little wrong to be charged after we pretty much did most of the work (since dusting is clearly not in their job description). Overall it’s an amazing house and we had a good time but I will not recommend it and will not come back due to the lack of hospitality of the host Liz and Kyle Fister.

Beautiful view of the lake and the mountains! We will definitely back!
Location of the cabin is breath taking! Riverbend and Lake Lure are very charming! The cabin was neat and tidy, but lacking a few of the creature comforts in the kitchen. We will definitely be back to visit…would love to visit in the fall!

Excellent
Quiet, relaxing and cozy in the mountains with crazy views. A great central location to many activities i9n the area. We were surprised at how much there was to see and do in and around Lake Lure. The cabin was very clean including all areas of the kitchen which is a pet peeve. Very happy with our stay and would definately reccomend this beautiful cabin and area.

Great location - Poor cleanliness
The location of the cabin was great! The access to the water was just down some stairs and across the road. Would be prefect for summer! The cabin had plenty of towels and well stocked kitchen. Our family had a great time and the house was a great size. Only complaint was the cleanliness of the house. Counters had food still stuck on it; pots/pans/dishes were not clean; under the furniture was filthy - like dust, trash, miscellaneous items. Found our own lost and found under one of the beds (1 shoe; hat; underwear - none was ours). Also, basement trash had a dirty diaper and “poop” soiled wipes left for us to take out! For the amount of money we had to pay for housekeeping, I expected much better. Also the number of beds claimed in listing is not accurate, but that did not effect our stay. Overall, happy with our visit - just would recommend getting a new housekeeper.
