We were in town for a wedding in Mill Spring and rented this cabin for our stay. The cabin exceed our expectation. Beautiful, peaceful, clean, and very comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the front or back porch and I went for a long walk in the morning that was refreshing.

The location was very peaceful but yet close enough to town if you wanted something to do outside of the cabin. Everything was well stocked and clean in the cabin. Melissa and Bryan were great hosts! Absolutely no issues with the cabin and would recommend staying!

Loved the house and loved the area. House was clean and stocked, and the pool table and hot tub were used daily.
Ingles grocery was within a few miles, along with lots of things to do. Chimney Rock Park/ Village and exploring the Lake area are musts.
Melissa was easily and quickly reachable for info. Would love to come back for more than a few days.

We had a wonderful time exploring Lake Lure and Chimney Rock for the first time. We enjoyed the downstairs game room, and short hikes to the lake. Communicating with the owners was easy and they responded very quickly. I loved drinking coffee on the porch in the mornings!

For the 2nd year in a row, this was the perfect cabin for our annual apple picking trip! We had two families in the cabin with 6 kids ranging in age from 7-15 years old. The kids loved the basement with a huge variety of toys and activities for all ages. We enjoyed the hot tub, roasting marshmallows on the fire pit, and exploring the nearby river, which included a rope swing into the water. The house is clean, spacious, and provided everything we needed for our stay. My giant SUV could easily manage the road and driveway. The addition of a WiFi extender & booster would be much appreciated, as we had very little connectivity when the kids tried to complete schoolwork. We can't wait to book for a 3rd time!

We enjoyed staying at this cabin for our family mountain trip. Cabin is close to apple orchards and Chimney rock. Kitchen is fully Stocked and the table had sufficient seating for 8.

The pros
We liked the size of the rooms. The hot tub. The pool table. The location was wonderful. The conveniences available were amazing. The kitchen had so many things available to use. The fridge was large. The porch swing and several chairs around the deck. We appreciated having the large covered porch to store our bikes. My husband rode 5 days on nearby trails.
We also enjoyed Riverside stables.
The cons: The fire pit wasn’t used for 2 reasons. The rain which made the area muddy.
We enjoyed our time.

Great location and neighborhood. We enjoyed the private lake and didn’t end up going to Lake Lure beach as we had planned. We enjoyed the kayak that we brought and would have loved to use the double kayak at the house but it was too heavy to carry to the lake and it wouldn’t fit into our SUV. There are boat racks at the beach but apparently they are being painted, so nothing could be stored. My kids and their friends loved the game room, especially the pool table. Lots of space for 6 people and plenty of private spaces to read and relax. Wi-Fi isn’t the best but it was nice to disconnect. At night, we enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. The direct TV was not working when we arrived, but Melissa was very responsive. Unfortunately we only had TV during the last 2 nights of our stay. Not a huge deal but we do like to unwind with a movie or TV show at the end of the night. We did take advantage of this time to enjoy some of the board games at the cabin. The font porch is a great place to relax and listen to all of the sounds of nature. All in all this was a great place for a family vacation.

We had a fantastic stay. Riverbend community is perfectly located for easy access to Lake Lure activities boating, tubing, zip lining and more. Having access to private Mirror Lake a major bonus on hot days. House was absolutely perfect for our group. Our hosts were so accommodating. Thanks

Property is just as described plenty of space the game room was fantastic with lots of activities! The hot tub was clean, and although the backyard was muddy due to the new seating, we did enjoy the fire pit. The neighborhood is great very walkable. We enjoyed the trails the waterfalls in the close local beach. Our group loved it so much they all want to come back.

We had an amazing time ! The area is beautiful, we loved having access to the swimming lake and the swimming hole. The kids had a blast, my 2 year old loved having all the toys in the playroom !
The adults had so much fun with the pool table/dart board. The only thing worth mentioning is we could not seem to get the basement TV to work and there seems to be a slow leak from the base of the downstairs toilet. Otherwise it was a beautiful cabin and the perfect getaway !

First the very good pluses about this cabin. There is plenty to do on the property. The host and hostess had toys that our 2 year-old grandson and 6 year-old granddaughter very much enjoyed. The hot tub was enjoyed by our adult kids and their spouses, as well as, my husband and me. Having an ice maker was helpful for our “larger” group, and having a long table where we could basically squeeze the nine of us was fun. There are plenty of hooks for towels and swimsuits in the bathrooms. There was room for our 2 married kids + spouses, 2 grandkids, and single adult son to spread out and have space. The walk-around porch along with the picnic table, porch swing, rocking chairs, and grill were enjoyed by many of us!
The negatives for our group was that there wasn’t any storage space for the cooking supplies that we each brought. (This might not be an issue for a couple or family that plans to primarily dine out.) The stairs leading both upstairs and downstairs are a bit steep which was scary for having a not-quite 3 year old wanting to try on his own. They were also an issue for me (older, legally handicapped) to negotiate when wanting to do laundry in the basement. The mattresses on some of the beds could use an update. The king-sized mattress on the main floor was very “soggy” and dipped from the many who have slept on the bed in the past. The downstairs king-sized mattress seemed to be more firm and possibly newer, according to my adult daughter and son-in-law.

There is stairway access from the back of cabin, down the side of the mountain to the beautiful community lake/beach, river, and waterfall (+/-1,000’ walk). Everything in the cabin works properly aside from the slightly sporadic connection of the living room TV. Some of the provided features of the cabin could use an upgrade; namely the beds, pillows, kitchen pans, and charcoal grill. Shower & bath products, condiments, and coffee are not provided (Ingles 7 minute drive from cabin). Be advised the road to the cabin is one lane, dirt, and steep.

Just a fantastic stay at a beautiful property! The communication with Melissa was great. Check-in process was simple and having the private gate to the neighborhood really made everyone feel safe!! I couldn’t imagine having more amenities then were offered. Ever night the families would shoot pool and darts. We even converted the pool table to a ping pong table and had a few ‘competitive’ games! The game room was full of toys for all ages and board games galore. Such a beautifully maintained property including a fire pit and hot tub. Just can’t say enough and we hope to get back soon. Thanks again, Melissa!

This home is amazing!! My family of 8, all adults, enjoyed our stay immensely. It is very roomy and we never felt cramped at all. The downstairs game room was a fantastic place to enjoy the TV, pool table, ping pong and dart board. There’s even a small drink fridge and barstools. Nice laundry room with utility sink if you’re there in the summer and need to wash out all the sand in your swimsuits. The hot tub and fire pit along with chairs on the decks gave us even more areas to enjoy the outdoors.
The owners are FANTASTIC! Very responsive and helpful if anything comes up during your stay.
Very nice gated community away from major traffic. The driveway is U-shaped and kind of steep in and out but was very manageable. We had no issues even on a Honda Accord, GMC Terrain and Ford Expedition, none of which are 4-wheel drive.
We would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone and will definitely stay again when in the area.

This was a very clean and comfortable home! Our group of girlfriends enjoyed our stay very much! The location was convenient to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock and wasn't too far from our day trip to Hendersonville. Next time we will stay longer to enjoy the hot tub and an outdoor fire but we will bring extra chairs to surround the fire, 3 isn't enough. Driveway only holds 3 cars but that was no problem for us. The bathroom space was fabulous! We will definitely be back to enjoy this home!

This cabin was perfect for our annual apple picking trip with friends!
There was plenty of space for 4 adults and 6 kids (6-14 yrs). The cabin was beautiful and very clean with spacious bedrooms. The kids loved the pool table, dart board, and toys in the basement. A small couch in the basement would be a great addition. Melissa was very easy to communicate with and fixed a problem with the hot tub when we asked.
We were worried about the driveway/road after reading previous reviews, but it wasn't difficult at all, even with 2 large SUVs. We loved exploring around the property and enjoyed visiting the nearby waterfall.
The only suggestion we have to improve this amazing cabin would be to update the mattresses in the main floor master and upstairs queen bedrooms, as they were quite squeaky and could have been more comfortable.
We look forward to staying again!

Melissa was wonderful to deal with, and even helped me when I misread the directions to get in the gate the first time. Bless her! The cabin was well equipped with what we needed to cook meals, well stocked with towels/linens, and was in a superb location. My son (age 8) loved the downstairs area with the pool table and games as well as the bowl sinks! Haha We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Canon's Cabin and will definitely be back!

We loved the location of this home it was in the prefect spot for our plans. The house was spacious with an excellent layout for our party of 10. There were so many extras that were a big plus. We enjoyed the cabin but the driveway was not friendly to larger vehicles.
The businesses were hardly ever open so you never knew where you were going to get to eat dinner. A nice and tranquil place but definitely not a lot to do.

The house was very clean upon our arrival. Great communication with owners. The community with private lakes and trails that accessed the river and waterfall area was amazing. We spent every day either on the beach, in the kayak, fishing off the dock or playing and exploring in the river. There was also a swimming hole at the front of the community, we never made it there but it also looked like a great spot to cool off! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, they house is well stocked with kitchen items, games, toys for younger children, linnens, pillows, firewood. It was excellent! Would stay again in a heartbeat!
