Service
I didn’t really like the stairs but that is just me because I have bad legs

We were greeted by friendly staff. There was ample parking. The hotel was clean and tidy. Within walking distance of the village shops.

It was a brelient place to stay
There's nothing it better than that place around Northamptonshire.

Very polite and kind, hard working staff, went out of their way to help every guest, even carrying bags, and talking about the town, the right meaning of hospitality.
Very large room at the back, not too much noise, very clean everywhere internally.. Much better then the photos. Which is usually the opposite, most hotels have fake old photos, but this hotel was very clean indeed. Thank you to the staff.
The red carpets i don't like, red is an angry colour that causes stress to some people, but not everyone.
I didn't like the town, not a lot going on, even though it has a big history, but it's middle of no where. Very few shops but better than many little towns for that, i just really didn't like the town, and that's just my opinion. You might really like it.
But this really is a good place to stay, one of the better places, I've found around the UK and especially the Kettering & Northampton area.

The size if the room really big ( 5) the room was very clean. The staff very pleasant.
The single bed in big room was a bit hard but that's personal choice.

The staff were excellent
Just the noise round the area but can’t be helped and how warm it was

only good point was the loction was suitable for where i needed to work
Firstly bed was very uncomfortable and loud traffic outside. No double glazing
I was lying in bed and felt something bite my leg. I realized there was blood on the duvet. After further investigation i noticed bed bugs. I collected one in a mug and took it to reception. He promptly changed my room and apologized but id imagine if there is an infestation in one room then they are likely to be elsewhere in the hotel. I slept very poorly because of this and i had a very important meeting the following .day. To add to things the bed in the new room was very wobbly and i felt like it was going to collapse and it was freezing cold in the room. After returning home i have had to put all my clothes in the garden bagged up and disinfect all my suitcase and wash bags as bed bugs can hitch a ride on clothing and suitcases. I have had to wash everything on a 60c wash to try and eliminate them and have ruined some clothes in the process that are not suitable for such a high temperature. I have periodically moved items of clothing to the freezer at great expense as i had to remove all food to make room. I feel i have done everything i can to avoid bringing them home with me but live in fear that a rogue bed bug may have come home with me and i will now have an infestation of my own on my hands. Overall this situation has cost me in ruined clothing, wasted food and terrible anxiety. Not to mention the loss of blood and bites to my leg.

Dirty. Last people's stuff in the room. Tiny. Tv didn't work. Old and decrepid

It has a bar.
Rooms poorly kept, Lights at the front of the building were left on all night and shined directly into our room. Road noisy.

It is centrally located.

I had a lovely stay here. Room was nice and cosy. Staff at the reception and the Bar were friendly and welcoming. Price was good for the hotel.

It was close to where my sister lives.
The decor was very dated. Two different materials for curtains in the one room, which clashed with the wallpaper, which clashed with the 'canopy' of the four poster bed - which in itself was ridiculous.
We had two bedrooms and we had to set up the channels on both the TVs to get them to work.
This hotels biggest problem is the mould. The bathroom ceiling was covered and all around the bathroom windows. There was new panelling in the bathroom, which was good, but mould needs to be got rid of, not covered up.
It's a shame - this hotel has quirky shaped rooms and lots of potential but needs a lot of TLC.

Nothing, I suppose the bed wasnt too bad.
Arrive to be told there had been a gas leak in the kitchen and that there was no dinner or breakfast (this may actually have turned out to be a good thing!). No attempt to contact us before arrival.
The room (no. 26) was tiny, the bathroom was even smaller, and the doorway was part blocked by the bed, and you couldn’t close the bathroom door more than about three quarters.
The Carpet was stained and filthy, the curtains were too short. There were no hangers, no bedside light or bedside switch for the main light.
The corridors smelt of cigarette smoke, probably from the staff smoking outside the bar back door, the bar that looked like a Works Club bar, Formica and lino.
NEVER stay here. Two colleagues rooms were equally as bad.
Awful, NEVER stay here.

For one night stay for the Grand Prix it served its purpose. Be prepared for sleeping in a cupboard sized room but a lot better than a gran a night for a tent closer to the circuit!!
Good location in town as right on the High Street next to pubs, shops & restaurants
Fair price in today's market
Breakfast paid for but not supplied and very unlikely explanation given. Was promised automatic refund from booking.com who, it turned out, knew nothing about it. Eventually got the refund albeit I had to sort it out myself which took several calls to the hotel to do.
The hotel claims to have a restaurant but it seems the menu is entirely Indian food and rather similar to the Indian restaurant immediately opposite who I suspect supply the food. Tey the Thai restaurant up the road - one of the best I've ever been to outside of Thailand.

Friendly member of staff
Outdated hotel, old furnirure,, dirty carpets, small room, no breakfast facilities.

I had low expectations based on other reviews, so I was very pleasantly surprised with the greeting, facilities, and room. As long as your expectations match what is being promised, then you will be glad you chose this hotel. It was clean, my en-suite was recently refurbished, and the bed was very comfortable. We were at an event in the Red Lion in Rothwell, which was across the road, so location was perfect for my needs. Best part of my experience was the staff, who were on hand to help with everything and were very accommodating to our requests.
Nothing. Its a 2-star hotel that more than matches other 2-star hotels that i've stayed in. I'd stay there again without hesitation.

Only room booking no breakfast available.
Room very dated and run down. Would benefit from a redecoration. No Decaf Teabags available on tea tray in room. Bed adequate, sleep reasonable.
