Quirky! Great location. Large room and jacuzzi bath
Fabulous breakfast - a great choice and lovely sausages!
The room was great but there was what looked like a doorstop in the middle of the floor at the side of the bed. This was a trip hazard and I had to cover it over to stop me treading on it - I’m not really sure what purpose it served..
The staff at breakfast were very noisy rearranging tables and relaying them around us.
4.0
Food good and staff very pleasant. Room was nice and bed comfortable. Parking a bonus and public bus stops outside hotel which means you can get into dock area without worry of parking.
TV in room didn’t work so we were moved from superior to a smaller room and were told there would be refund but nothing happened and no one to ask at check out.
Also a lot of stairs to get to rooms plus breakfast room in basement so difficult for people with mobility issues.

Very little hot water for the shower. A bit rough round the edge

Room was ok , The staff we very nice and breakfast good
There was no one at reception when we arrived, after 2 hours calling and waiting another guest discovered the keys behind the reception desk so we check ourselves in to the room allocated on the reception computer screen. We received a call an hour later to say the reception staff had arrived. There had apparently been a rostering mix up and the receptionist was very apologetic. We had wasted 2 hours of our day.
3.0
The bed was itself very comfortable, the room and hotel were generally clean, and the room was beautifully decorated, especially the tiling in the bathroom.
The receptionist was lovely and very helpful, carrying my bags, bringing us iced water and showing us how the spa bath worked, and the breakfast staff were polite and helpful.
Parking is an issue with only 5 spaces on site but we were given a parking permit which was just perfect, given the local parking restrictions.
I booked this hotel last minute due to a family emergency, needing somewhere close to my family home.
Our room was on the ground floor, with the bed rammed into an alcove with just enough space on one side only for a bedside table and nothing on the other. The radiator valve was missing the rubber cover, leaving a dangerous metal spike sticking up right next to the bed which I narrowly missed impaling my leg on.
The window is actually behind the bed and you have to climb onto the bed to open it, which for someone with arthritis was a real pain. I also noticed that the covered smoking shelter is right outside our bedroom window- thankfully the smokers sat by the front door or it could have been very unpleasant.
The lack of space in the room is caused by the bathroom being extended to allow for a ridiculously sized spa bath which doesn't have any instructions and takes so long to fill that I gave up. Trying to work out which button did what, I managed to spray water right across the room which was quite stressful and had ask the poor receptionist for help.
There is very poor soundproofing and we were woken by the TV in the room above at 8am, which wasn't great, and also being able to hear every word on the TV next door.
From what we saw, the hotel seems to focus more on style rather than substance, with sparkly carpets and silver chargers on the breakfast table but offering cheap pre-packaged croissants, cheap condiments and low-value cola. That said, the cooked breakfast was good and plentiful.
I wouldn't normally be so irritated about these things but the room rate for one night, last minute, was listed as around £200! With the Booking.com discount, it still cost us £173 for a squashed room!!
Too be fair, the photos on the website show more spacious rooms and cheaper prices, bur our experience was very disappointing and was in no way good value for money..

Not very much.
Given dreadful room in attic....after much "discussion" they changed it but nothing like a boutique hotel...cramped...very ordinary and we regretted making our booking

Had the top room, I'm getting too old for those stairs. Next time ground floor!
