Place was as described with no surprises. Gray location as with pretty much anywhere on the island. Would definitely stay again and plan on it.

Can't say enough good about this place. My family of 4, with two teens thoroughly enjoyed this costal cabin. The location to the bay, and beach is about 3 minute walk to each. The deck has amazing views, and is great for sunrise, and sunset. We enjoyed using the binoculars to check out all the wildlife. Interior could use some minor updates, but overall clean, and functional. The coffee maker takes about 30-40 minutes to brew a pot, so that may need attention. The master bedroom is a loft, and there's only 1 TV in house so that's something to be aware of. Also bring a fire stick/Roku if you want to watch anything, there's only very basic cable. There's no way to block out morning light in loft, didn't bother us since we like to watch sunrise. Kitchen was well equipped, and we cooked many meals. Overall one of our favorite places we've stayed in over 10 years of coming to forgotten coast area. Would recommend, and stay again.

We had a great trip to St George Island. Home was comfortable and cozy. Sunsets from the living room were fabulous. We loved the short walk to beach and lots of local seafood.

Great location!
5 minute walk to the beach and 5 minute walk to the bay where there is a small beach.
We had some pretty strong winds 3 out of 7 days and the bay was perfect to set up for the day. It was perfect for our grandkids to play on.
The house is older, but in very good condition.
The large deck was great for birdwatching, sunsets and a play area for the grandkids.

We loved our stay at Heron Now! Our twin boys had so much fun watching for birds and wildlife on the back porch and exploring the bay. It was perfect for our family of four and very well stocked. A king bed and some minor superficial updates would be nice, but for the price, location & memories it was all worth it! We look forward to staying again!

The view was out of this world. We sat on the deck in the rocking chairs every evening and enjoyed the sunsets. The house was clean and had all the kitchen accessories that we needed. Could use a few more lights on the front porch and stairs as I took a tumble in the dark. Owner was very quick with a response. Would love to stay there again.

Heron Now was a dream location for our weeklong vacation. There is a public beach access directly across from the house, 1.5 blocks, and it was super easy to navigate anywhere you needed to be on the island. The house is well appointed and had everything we needed during our stay. Our group enjoyed the bay views from the comfort of the living room, and we were amazed at the amount of natural light we got each day. Bonus, we watched the meteor shower from the spacious deck! We definitely want to stay here again.

Everything we needed was provided. Beds were very comfortable which is very important for our old backs! View of the bay was great!
The trip to put our kayaks in however was more of an effort than we anticipated. The stairs were hard on my knees so next time i will have to look ground level. Hate it cause we really enjoyed our stay.

The property is beautiful and the house is very clean. The kitchen was fully-equipped to meet our cooking and food needs. The beach is a short walk or bike ride just across the street. The view of the bay from the back deck is a great way to enjoy our morning coffee.
The property owners are friendly and responsive. The owners also provide a lot of information about local sites and places to go. My son loved looking at the bird and critter books and then spotting those creatures on the island. We had such a great time and made a ton of memories.

This was a beautiful place hidden between the beach and the bay. Very clean and spacious. We rented a golf cart which I would recommend. It made getting sound so much easier. The beach is a short walk from the house and that end of the beach was not that busy. There was plenty of stuff for the kids to do and watch when we came back to the house. Would recommend this place.

This is a peaceful property located on the edge of a nature reserve. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. The deck was amazing looking out to the woods and marsh with all the birds that would flit about the trees. The location was only a few minutes away from beautiful St. George Island State Park, local restaurants gulf and bay beaches and more. I would highly recommend this property and hope to return again myself in the future.

The house was perfect for us. So many interesting nature books! Located a hop, skip and a jump from the ocean and even closer to the entrance to the estuary. We had everything we needed to cook…..and it was very clean as promised upon arrival. This is an older property in GREAT shape. It truly felt like home.
P.S. a five minute drive gets you to the entrance of the State Park which is magic!

We were not sure about staying Bayside. However, "Heron Now" convinced us otherwise. The beach was quite accessible. And, we enjoyed the peaceful estuary on the bay. The house suited us well, was well equipped and suited for our needs.

My husband and I loved Heron Now! The view of the bay and surrounding foliage was great. There was a lot of rain while we were down, but it didn't subtract much enjoyment from our stay as we were able to watch the rainfall from all the sliding glass doors and windows. The binoculars were a huge plus! Every amitiny and kitchen item we needed was there, which was great bc we enjoy cooking fresh seafood while down. Everything was neat and clean. We took the loft so we could see the moonlight pour in when the clouds broke. We also liked the larger space. Overall, the house was great, and we would definitely love to stay there again.
We were also very near to the Apalachicola Reserve, which ended up being another great activity during the rain. The indoor education center was so neat. We also lucked up by getting to the island late. Every kitchen on the island was closed, but when we went out for drinks at Paddy's, the staff told us about El Jalisco's late night breakfast. The food was good, and the staff was great. Another great trip to St. George in the books! Thank you for letting us stay at Heron Now.

This is the place!
If you've already decided on St George Island, then this is the place to make your home base. This is an older home, set away from the beach on the sound side, on a lot surrounded by trees. The house is very well maintained and was super clean when we checked in. Not a speck of sand, or a single crumb (or dead bug). We had plenty of rain during our stay and not a single leak. The access to the truly beautiful beach was an easy 3 minute leisure walk. You have to cross the main road, but there was very little traffic. Access to the sound side beach is up a path to the side of the property. My kids loved the sound side beach area. This property is super convenient to the main roadways to get anywhere on the island, but it's also super secluded and very quiet. There are no houses set super closely. We enjoyed peaceful sunrises and sunsets every day.

This is the second time we have stayed at Heron Now. We love that it is close to the bay with beautiful sunsets as well as right across the street from beach access.

Two vacations in one!
This was our first time to SGI and I can't stop congratulating myself for picking Huron Now for our stay. I look for a best value situation when traveling. When we do the beach, we spend so little time inside the rental that I look for no-frill, clean accommodations. Huron Now had that and then some.
It really was like 2-vacations in one. We spent the mornings and evenings on the back deck bird watching and catching a dolphin or two in the bay. Days were spent surf fishing and reading on the beach or biking up and down the dedicated pathway, stopping in for cocktails (rum runners) at the Blue Parrot most afternoons. We enjoyed everything about our stay and will be back to SGI and definitely Huron Now.
One note for others, the only thing I was surprised by was that the master bedroom is a lofted area that is open to the main floor and great room below. Not a big deal for us but it wasn't evident in the pics so just wasn't aware ahead of time.

The perfect getaway
The house has both privacy and convenience. It is just around the corner from the bay where we loved exploring. We saw stingray a couple times while we were wading. We also watches dolphins in the bay. It was a great vacation and we look forward to doing it again.

Possibly the best bay setting on SGI. Large, fairly private “backyard” with a bayou and great bay view.

very relaxing
The property was very nice. We enjoyed the deck and the use of the binoculars. We had several birds entertain us and the tree frogs on the windows at night. We also enjoyed the closet of games on rainy non beach days. Thank you!!

Nature At its Best
Heron Now sits in the perfect place on St. George Island. One block to the bay and it’s glorious birds. 1 1/2 blocks to the beach for shell-seeking and sunsets. Perfection! The house is very comfortable, surrounded by decks in the trees, with a bay view, to further enjoy the beauty. We loved it!

Do not hesitate in booking this wonderful getaway vacation home. This home truly has everything you need, just bring your food, wine, beach chairs, beach novels, and alert eyes to catch the bald eagles that live a few blocks away! We left later than we wanted due to the fact we could NOT stop reveling in the beauty of those magnificent birds! We normally rent a place on the beach but when I read the reviews for HeronNow, I felt so attracted to the quiet setting nestled amongst the trees, we decided to go for it. The two block walk back and forth to the beach did our bodies good! We did not miss an ocean front home at all, nor the price of an ocean front home!Did I mention the fact that it was sooooo quiet and peaceful?! Just what my husband and I needed to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary:)We will be back!Thank you, Edward:)

Relaxing and just what we needed
First, wow, the view. It’s pristine. I could live on the deck with dining table and rocking chairs. It’s so peaceful. But if you prefer the AC (or heat, as we went during a cool snap in November), you can sit inside and still enjoy the view due to the large glass doors. The home had everything we needed to cook and eat several meals in. And we also enjoyed the local restaurants. The 11th Street public beach access is close enough to walk. We also drove down to the state park and the beaches there are amazing. I would definitely stay here again.

Nature Lover's Paradise
The quiet and pristine beauty of this part of St George Island is truly balm to the soul. Relaxing on the deck with the view of the sound through the pine trees is perfect - bird watching is wonderful. We rented kayaks, beach chairs and umbrella from Jolly Rogers - excellent service and quality. Kayaked everyday on the sound - wish we had wheels for the kayaks, but we made it work - it's a short walk down. Short walk to the gulf side if you like wind and louder surf - we enjoyed it but preferred the sound. Piggly-Wiggly express is so convenient for great coffee in the morning, crab cakes and grouper, and the produce was excellent - very well stocked for a small store, and friendly, hard-working staff. A day trip to Wakulla Springs is WELL WORTH it - incredible beauty and wildlife. Also the Nature Preserve just over the bridge. The best thing at Heron Now is the quiet and solitude - the sound was almost always empty. Water temperature was perfect. The house itself is fine - comfortable beds, plenty of space, and adequately equipped - and priced accordingly. It's the location and setting that make this a 5-star place that we would visit again!!

We Loved this place!! It was very private and everything we could want! Close to the beach, we rented a golf cart for the week. We also loved the bay area. We golf carted to the bay every night to watch the sunset. We had so much fun! and would highly recommend this rental.
