Shark Bait - This four bedroom, 2 bath house is a fabulous place for a family and/or friends getaway. Large deck with perfect seating for enjoying the ocean view on one side and a dining table for outside eating on the other side. A great family room where you can watch television, read, or play games. There is a private outdoor shower with hot and cold running water. Four bedrooms-3 queen beds and a twin over twin bunk bed. There is also a fish cleaning station and an outdoor charcoal grill.

We really enjoyed our stay! The area is great and the short walk to the beach was nice and easy. The house was a great size.

Loved the outdoor shower! Comfy beds, the deck is huge, short walking distance to the beach. We enjoyed playing Galaga & Pac Man. Heather was right on our notice that we were put of Cascade. We loved every minute of our stay. 5 minute drive to the state park

Shark Bait was a good fit for our group. There was just enough room for everyone to have some privacy, and the living room/kitchen area was pleasant. We ate meals at the table on the porch and at the kitchen counter. Our beds were comfortable and the bathrooms worked well. It was an easy walk to the beach and a quick drive to the shops on St. George Island.

The property was so clean, everything listed as described and the deck was our favorite place to hang out with our family. I will definitely book this charming little bit of paradise again.

We stayed the week at Shark Bait. It was a lot smaller than I thought, but was plenty of space for us. Everyone had the private space they wanted and we had a nice common area to hang out. The deck is beautiful and you can see the Gulf between the houses. It's only a block from the beach. The outdoor shower was great for rinsing off, then we'd hang out on the deck and dry off before heading inside. Our dogs were very welcome on the island, including the two restaurants we went to. We felt very safe at the house. We did have an issue with seeing some palmetto bugs in the house, but when I told the owner she had someone come out the next day and sprayed. Palmetto bugs are a thing and they do get in houses. I appreciated the timely responses from the owners if I had any questions. It was a great experience.

I took my children and their family to St George Island for our annual summer vacation. This is 2nd time that we have stayed in this rental and always fully enjoy our stay. Enough room for everyone to have a little privacy. Just a short walk to the beach. My son would load his truck with all our beach accessories and meet us at the walkway, just to keep us from having to carry so much since we take everything except the kitchen sink. My grandson is 16 and he would take the short drive each day to go down to the old bridge to fish from it. We felt very safe in this area.

This was a great spot for our family to spend some time on SGI. Perfect location with easy access to the Gulf and Bay sides of the island. House has an amazing outdoor deck area to enjoy the weather when not on the beach. Very well kept and clean house.
This was not a surprise and a benefit (imo), but it is a drive or decent bike ride to all the amenities of SGI.
Would 100% recommend.

Good overall. Already communicated other issues personally with the owner. One other issue though. We got in well after dark and had a terrible time finding the house. If local code allows, maybe some higher visibility numbers out by the street would be helpful.

We had a great stay at shark bait. The house was older but everything worked as it should. It was clean. This house has a nice deck and outside shower. Great location and adequate distance from the neighbors. I would recommend to upgrade the lock to an electric keypad as the key is a little inconvenient since the back door only locks from the inside. We would definitely stay here again.

Rustic and quaint. Wife's first impression: Wow, if the plumbing and appliances work, we'll stay here again! They did and we will. Also loved the back deck with ocean view for lounging. Enjoyed a three day stay with no problems. Very short walk to the beach.

The house was exactly as advertised. A short walk to the beach. Good location. We beached a boat in the leeward sound to the north and walked to the boat (when the tide was in). Very convenient location. We have everything we needed.
If I were forced to be critical, I would want an exhaust over the range/oven but we really enjoyed our stay.

There were several great things about Shark Bait. First off is the location on the less crowded East End of the island, and though you are not on the beach, you can get a nice ocean view from the house. The walk to the beach is just down the multi-use trail and around the corner. We also found the beds to be comfortable. The outdoor shower with hot water was really nice when coming in from the beach. We didn't use the fish cleaning station, but if you fish, that would be a big plus. There is enough room under the house to park two cars. The outdoor furniture was in good condition and we enjoyed the porch. There are lots of games, books, and an arcade console for the family to enjoy.
There are also some shortcomings to the house. There are no vent fans in the kitchen or the bathrooms. If you boil shrimp you really want to be able to vent that outside! The couch springs are worn so that you sink way down in them when you sit down. We had some problems with the lock, but Heather was responsive in trying to address the problem. We found someone else's clothing under one of the beds, which tells me the cleaning crew isn't thorough. The kitchen was adequately equipped, but could have had more dishes. For example, in a house that can sleep 8 people there were 4 soup spoons and 4 teaspoons. There were 8 drinking glasses. In most rental houses there are extras so you don't need to wash everything before the next meal. Overall, I think the house was good for the price, but the owners could make some improvements.

Excellent stay!
My husband and I traveled to SGI for the fourth time and needed to bring our pups. This pet-friendly property was clean, well-appointed and great location. Heather (host) was extremely responsive and very accommodating. We had a a couple of small issues in the bathroom but Heather had it resolved that same morning. Highly recommend!

A Great Find. We already booked our next trip back!
We came to St George to fish and were not disappointed in the variety and quantity of fish we caught. Considering the excellent access to the beach, we found this to be reasonably priced. A short walk to the beach pulling our cart, then on to the walkway that only had 3 steps to navigate at the end to be on the beach. Fish caught: lots of whiting (17 inches largest one), small pompano, bonnet head shark and sharp nose shark which are delicious, lemon shark, bluefish, stingray but no catfish! The cleaning station was a wonderful accommodation for fisherman like us. Besides being so close to beach access, the house was just very comfortable as well. It had everything we needed. Heather (the owner) was very quick to respond to all our questions and very considerate to our requests. Going back soon!
