The amenities were awesome, clean and accessible. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL! The restaurant was INCREDIBLE!
The pools close at night so you can’t do any night swimming. Other than that, I have zero complaints!

Ananda hotel is a beautiful hotel located right in the heart of Cartagena! From there you can literally walk anywhere without problems or order a taxi if you wish. My husband and I stayed there 3 nights and except for our first night where the AC shut off (possibly due to the weather), we had very comfortable nights there. They were quick to listen to our request for room change and not to mention the staff was amazing! Very hospitable and friendly! Also, the massages here were so good! The breakfast was also great, better than the other hotels we stayed at. Would love to come back here if we go back to visit Cartagena!
Nothing!

Breakfast was good.

It’s on a little unassuming side street which means you won’t have to worry about the noise and business from the center. Although that can seem sketchy, it really is the best way to be in old town without being in the center of the noise.
This hotel has an addictive wonderful smell throughout the entire hotel and in the rooms. As soon as you walk up to the doors you smell the amazing aroma of essential oils. And the property, though small, is beautiful. My guests loved the aesthetics, pool, and rooms! Although I would suggest that if you want a more luxurious look to your room, I would pick at least the category above the lowest one. All the rooms were fine through, just my personal observation and preference.
I also had a great experience at check-in where the staff person was very nice and patient.
Staff are hit or miss here. I had a great checkin person but the checkout person was not very pleasant and argumentative. There was never any type of smile on his face and he seemed overall irritated and like it was beneath him to be assisting us.
The staffs’s English is also hit or miss, as it is anywhere you go in Cartagena.
The breakfast was also an issue for my guests because the staff there didn’t speak English and therefore there was no one to really explain the breakfast process and since my guests thought that breakfast was included for them, they thought they could eat sides, like bacon and such but those items were not included and the menu was confusing to them. They thought that the extra feea did not apply since the reservation said breakfast was included and the staff at checkout were not very kind about this misunderstanding. They felt that we were just trying to get out of paying and did not want to understand how there could be misunderstandings when the staff does not explain anything to the guests and they just bring bottled water without saying there is a cost, the staff just brought over bottled waters without telling them that it costs extra and it was not on the menu that there was an additional cost.

The property itself is gorgeous, a little haven located in the heart of the old town. The rooftop terrace is exceptional with great views. The staff are amazing, very attentive and always friendly.

The location is fantastic! And the property is lovely. A very friendly and helpful staff. Jairo is phenomenal! He made our holiday even better.
The pool and roofdeck were ideal for what we were looking for. The breakfast and coffee were a perfect addition.
We had the worst toilet I've ever had in a hotel. Would not flush properly. We asked to have it fixed and nothing was really done other than to tell us to just hold it down longer. Super frustrating. My travel companion requested that the sheets get changed on her bed because they were sort of worn and pilled, very scratchy. While they said they would, they did not.
And the bathroom set up is bizarre. We could hear others showering in the tiered, open wall set up. Very unnerving at times! That would have been nice to know ahead of time.

Good location, comfortable beds
The hotel is quite dated and dark in the rooms. The breakfast is a bit limited and not as good as many others in Colombia

The only good thing was the location. Value to Price horrible , much better boutique hotels near by , for same rate or lower . The breakfast was okay but limited .
Absolutely horrible experience dealing with the front desk staff Jorge. The rudest hotel employee I’ve ever encountered in my life. Jorge was extremely rude to my son , my wife , and my sons gf. Unhelpful, rude, and disrespectful .
He ignored our requests to speak to his general manager Diego while he was on the phone with him.
We ended up leaving the hotel after one night because he was so rude and unhelpful.
My sons room and my room did not have hot water in the shower. My sons bathtub was leaking from the bottom.
Google reviews also mention Jorge as being rude to other guests .
We hope the GM and hotel owners look into this matter .

I liked the location of the hotel
The hotel did not have an iron, the blow dryer did not work, the pool was very dirty and looked unclean and unsafe. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel and it did not feel like 4 stars

Beautiful building for a hotel and nice use of the colonial architecture. Staff were very friendly and attentive. One of us got sick and the staff were very kind and checked in regular and everything. The room was very spacious and the bed comfortable.
The communal areas are well attended to and look the part. The room itself (on the ground floor) could use a bit of work in upkeep. For instance: Paint is coming off the walls here and there and the bathroom deserves some attention too with towel hooks loose.
Overall we had a lovely stay. It is perhaps not on the same level as other hotels in this price range in the area. Thus it feels a bit overpriced, but nonetheless pleasant.

Very well located in the historical town
My credit card got stolen in the hotel room. The front desk staff I mentioned it to first was absolutely not understanding of the situation and insinuated I was lying. The day after I met with the property manager who took it more seriously, followed procedure by asking the police to come to the hotel. But that was it. No caring for the fact that we felt unsafe in the very room we’re overpaying for (it’s not as well maintained as the pictures suggest). No kind of commercial gesture to compensate for the fact that my credit card was stolen inside the hotel room. While I wasn’t expecting anything major, a free drink or meal on the house would have been a cheap way to change my mind.

very cute hotel and good breakfast
if staying on a Saturday they have a hotel next door that has parties with load music which disturbed our sleep.

Loved the shuttered doors and ceiling fans, with the option to turn off the AC in the room and still have air moving. The pools and lounge areas made the hotel feel like an urban oasis. All staff were very warm and welcoming.

We loved the location, beautiful pool, comfortable bed and attentive service.
There were just two minor things in the room that we didn’t love. The overhead shower didn’t get very hot so we used the handheld and one of the bathroom lights was flickering constantly which was a little annoying. You can hear the outside noises very well but we didn’t have issues sleeping.

Location was key, and the hotel is very pretty. Two pools are beautiful and we never had trouble finding a lounge chair (we visited in August). Our room was huge although I must admit the space downstairs felt a bit waisted. The bathrooms could use a bit of a refresh (some cracking at the edges), but it was great to have two bathrooms! Bed linens and bed was great. My only qualm was the AC unit had a bright blue light that shown very strong in the dark, so if you have trouble sleeping, bring an eye mask!
Bathrooms need a refresh--not dirty, just needs to re-grout.
