The booking did not include breakfast but the hosts left some bread and honey in the hut along with some lovely biscuits and a small bottle of prosecco - lovely touch!!!!
I don't know what I would improve on to be honest. Maybe the British weather ( a little less rain would have made the field less muddy so thankful we had our wellies!)

The location is beautiful with lots to do in Dorchester and surrounding areas. Staff were extremely welcoming. Lovely pub with good food and drink selection. Quirky accomodation.
Very minor gripe - the window in the door could do with a little privacy curtain. Also, some people using our private bathroom so maybe a key could help with this.

location was stunning, so peaceful, facilities were better than expected, staff were very friendly and helpful, loads to do as a family, pub lovely.

Our second stay in Birdie, one of the shepherd's huts and just as good as the last. Very well equipped with towels and bedding provided. Good music on Saturday which we enjoyed listening to sat by the fire-pit.
Nothing at all.

A little slice of heaven in the countryside. Perfect mix of peace and quiet, wildlife and beautiful surroundings. Lovely pub and plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Fire pits to sit round in the evening are lovely and really made the stay perfect.
No bad points

Beautiful Shepard's Hut in smashing location.

We have been staying for a while now over the last few years. The facilities were lovely and some new additions since we stayed last. We just love the location, the staff and the shepherds hut.

Wonderful stay, far exceeded expectations. I can't wait to visit again. The little touches like firewood and Marsh mellows to roast were a huge hit. Kids had a fabulous time with loads to do but all in a safe family friendly environment

clean and friendly campsite and very welcoming pub. a great place to spend a few days or longer
Nothing, no issues at all

Lovely set up for a couple and a place to relax. Really peaceful. The dog loved the open space and the hog roast was fantastic.

The Gaggle is the perfect little hideaway for a relaxing break. The shepherds hut is comfortable and cosy and a great base for enjoying the beautiful countryside.
Nothing to not like, great accommodation, lovely hosts
4.7
Nice spacious bell tent. Plenty to keep children entertained and safe spaces for them to play. Goats were great to feed and mini crazy golf and ping pong was an added bonus. Very welcoming and friendly staff.
Lovely pack of surprise marshmallows for the camp fires in the evening. Great atmosphere in the evening.
Not enough shower or toilet facilities at busy times. Electric power pack provided in the tent was not sufficient to boil kettle so have to use mains power supply which is communal and people use these to charge electrical devices and phones constantly.
Beds were also very hard to sleep on but others may prefer this.
Children's play bus needs a little attention as it appears very run down.

The shepherd's hut 'Bumble' was beautifully clean with added touches on arrival like fresh milk .2 pieced of chocolate torte & a jar of local honey ! All fully equipped with tea coffee and orange juice ! PLEASE NOTE . don't be put off by not having en suite washing facilties
Showers & toilets are ou 20 steps away from the hut and were kept very clean . The location of the site is really tranquil and ideal for families with children as all very safe & friendly . The host greeted on arrival which very welcoming and told us we could buy e tra logs if we need them ( 1 nights logs are stored under the hut along with firelighters.)
Goats to feed .play bus to run amock in .
A band played on our Saturday evening which made it extra fun .
Can't think of anything !

A great little Campsite (bus with softplay, goats, and some football goals for kids). Toilets cleaned regularly and never ran out of paper.
I thought I had booked a shepherd's hut but arrived to find I had booked a bell tent. The emails I received did not make that clear. I will book direct in future as I think the booking.com process was confusing.

Beautiful surroundings, and wonderful pub on site. Friendly staff. I loved the fact dogs were allowed also. The cute goats were very well kept. There was also a little gift on arrival with some granola and honey.
The details on booking advised Wi-Fi, on arrival this did not extend to the shepherds huts, which meant this site was not good for us specifically.
Part of the reason for staying was astrophotography, and to check out viability. Had we arrived when bell tents were up they were really close to the hut and would have impacted. Google maps on checking before did not suggest anything close to the hut.
Fresh milk for tea would be a nice addition to welcome gift.

Very quite and lovely place to stay.
Away to get away from the hassle of work life

We loved the setting of the Gaggle of Geese, it is a charming little place! Lovely and peaceful. The double decker bus indoor play (I don't have children) was just a lovely addition! As was the horsebox and shepherds hut showers and toilets. The lack of signal and WiFi was good because you are living in the moment. Cute little shepherds hut! I'd love to stay again!
Nothing negative, but if possible, a curtain separating the rooms to give privacy would be a great addition as I took my Grandad which made it awkward to get changed infront of each other, we both used the toilets available instead

Brilliant atmosphere and very friendly. Our shepherd's hut was really cool and the whole place is very dog and family friendly!
