The breakfast is very good. The location is little bit far from town but it's OK. The service is excellent !

We spent a night here on business and i must say everything was excellent. The location of the rokan is not too far away from the hakone station and we had such a nice morning walk in the area. As for the room, it is very clean and very comfortable. The ryokan has a small onsen that can be used for an hour(private). Also, the dinner and breakfast was amazing. The owner makes pretty much everything from scratch! We will definitely revisit yupopo ! 10/10 !

The owner is the friendliest person ever. We have never felt so welcomed before in any accommodation. Our room felt authentic with attention to detail and was really cozy, and we loved warming up in the Onsen after a long day out in the cold and rainy weather. There isn't much nearby and it's a 15 minutes walk to the next restaurants, but the next bus station is only 7 minutes away. But this makes it fairly quiet, so if you are looking for a place to relax, the location is perfect.
Breakfast was delicious, we got 2 homemade buns with orange jam and butter,, fried egg, sausages, salad, vegetable soup and kiwifruit. Also, Tea and Coffee.
Unfortunately we couldn't book the delicious breakfast for the first morning.

Cozy ryokan with very friendly host. Feel like stay home. The Onsen is private and allows family to enjoy bath together.
The Onsen water can be slightly hotter.

Rien.

Fantastic hosting by Dai and his family. They put so much attention to details to make sure you have a great experience.
The ryokan is ideally located close to a bus stop where 2 different routes meet up, which is great to explore the lake Ashi and the museum in Gora.
We loved the full Japanese experience of Ryokan Yuppopo, from the yukatas (including some for the kids) to the relaxing onsen, and traditional Japanese beds - very comfy and warm.
But of course the best part was the food! Dai and his wife prepared traditional home made food for both dinner & breakfast, incl. delicious home made bread. We had informed them in advance that we don’t eat beef for religious reasons and they were able to accommodate perfectly. The chicken stew was truly amazing and all the other dishes were very tasty. The kids were served smaller portion of the same meal in beautiful bento boxes. The loved it!
On the second day, Dai heard us sing happy birthday for someone in the group and his wife prepared as a surprise for all of us some delicious cakes and a special plate for the birthday boy.
Can’t recommend enough!
Nothing. We had a great stay.

Niente, tutto perfetto. Grazie mille!

My two friends, my boyfriend and I had an absolutely amazing experience at Hakone Yuppopo. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owner who welcomed us in as if we were his own family. The hospitality was unparalleled, and the meals (around 7 courses for both breakfast and dinner) were all culinary masterpieces. The owners baked fresh bread every morning and served it with jam, homemade broth, eggs and coffee/tea. The private onsen was the epitome of relaxation. I can’t recommend this ryokan enough for anyone seeking an authentic and unforgettable Japanese getaway. We spent the rest of our trip in Tokyo and Kyoto and this was easily the highlight. Thank you Dai, I hope we can visit again soon!

We had a superb stay at Yupoppo Hakone. It's a beautiful place surrounded by nature, and especially great for those travelling with small kids. The owners are so friendly and welcoming, they made our stay there a truly wonderful experience. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the home-made bread and yuzu and plum wine excellent. Onsen was hot and there was even a small kids bath tub for our 1-year-old to bathe in. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. We would definitely go again!

Staff member Dai greeted us warmly and enthusiastically. Many highlights for our stay - including the staff and his very cute kid who would occasionally peak at us while we are eating, the nicely prepared dinner and breakfast, the private onsen was clean, and just the overall hospitality of Dai. He helped to provide suggestions for attractions, transportation, and a reasonable timeline for it all. Dai and his wife even prepared us a little honeymoon dessert! Would definitely recommend!!
Unfortunately, we were only able to stay one night.

It was a great experience to stay here. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The onsen is located in the house and offers excellent relaxation. The house is in a quiet area on the edge of the forest, but is easily accessible by bus.
We had a very warm and friendly welcoming. The entire family was very kind and helpful.
We had planned to stay here for two days but our flight was changed so we could only stay for one night, they were very flexible with this as well, as we were able to change our booking immediately.
If you are looking for a quiet, family accommodation we can definitely recommend it. For us it was an excellent choice.

The food is amazing! We ate dinner and breakfast there. Dai is the friendly and welcoming owner and host of the onsen. Dai cooks all the food and his wife bakes all the cakes and breads. We loved the whole experience with traditional japanese lodging, food, and the onsen. It is only a 5 minute walk from the bus stop and it is a quiet location. Would definitely recommend staying at here!

The location is lovely, tucked away in the woods next to a small shrine. The facilities exude a showa era charm. The host is extremely friendly and courteous. We received a welcome cake when we arrived.
The futon was a bit thin.

We had a wonderful stay - the breakfast and dinners were delicious, peaceful Onsen in the house, and bus down the road for easy access to station / lake and we walked to the trail for Mount Kintoki. The host was excellent and we felt very relaxed after three nights at Onsen Yado Teishaba.

The reception man offered us a "welcome cake". It was banana bread and I appreciate his generosity. The tatami room was a comfortable size and the price was fair. You could reserve the time for the onsen so that was really nice.
The onsen was just above warm. Would be nicer if it was hotter and outside. The futon beds were hard though. I was expecting a mountain view, but my room was surrounded by trees.

Quiet environment, private onsen and homemade breakfast was very good.
The insects in the room and direction signage from bus stop to the place.

The place is very nice. It is in the middle of the forest, very quite and calm.
The landlord is very nice, he treat you very well and give any kind of help that you might need.
He can prepare breakfast for 1000Y and dinner for 1500Y.
The rooms are big and comfortable, with the traditional japanese layout.
All the facilities are well maintained, although they are a old.
The onsen is great, a bath of 60cm depth, 2m by 1m aprox, completely private with thermal water and very comfortable.
It is a great japanese onsen experience for low price.
The place is a bit far apart. Even if you can reach it by bus, it oa better to rent a car.

This is potentially the best hospitality experience I have ever received. The owners of the ryokan are really lovely. The attention to detail is one I have never witnessed before.
- Dinner was delicious and affordable and you get to dine like the locals on tatami matts :) we got served a welcome cake and a dish customary when it’s the new year.
- When we were ready to go out we found our shoes already prepared for us and the owner holds on the bag for you whilst you get ready, and bids you farewell
- My partner had a swollen ankle, when they noticed they got her an ice pack and some support bandaids
- The bathroom has cleanser, toner and moisturizer.
- You can reserve a spot in the lovely onsen just for yourself. Which was a big plus for us.
I cannot but thank the owners for this lovely experience. Hakone is amazing but this made it truly a great memory!
