This is a little gem on the lake. There is a path down to a boathouse and dock. We enjoyed sitting by the water. This part of the lake is very quiet. The accommodations were decent. The host was very kind.

We had a nice stay at Gary's place. The weather wasn't warm the weekend we were there (mid 60s), but that didn't stop us from spending an afternoon swimming. The water was wonderful! The photos in the listing are exactly what you get. It's a nice, big space; very clean and comfortable. The views are spectacular! All the basics are provided. Gary was nice and greeted us upon our arrival, and after that left us to ourselves. Some things that were not mentioned in the listing that you may care to know about: - This is Gary's basement, which was a big surprise. And Gary was home. I found it inhibiting at first, but got used to it by the second day. - If you have mobility issues, this may not be the right place for you. You must navigate stairs (half flight) to get in. - The dock is *below* the house, accessed by a trail that is maintained, but uneven with roots and it's quite steep. I was only able to get there the day we arrived and then once again the afternoon we went swimming. I used my hiking poles the second time, which made it easier, but I almost didn't back down because of my mobility issues. My husband had no trouble with it, though. - Gary has a small dog (poodle mix?) that barked at us and did not let us near, but it mostly stayed upstairs with Gary. The reason we chose this listing was the water, which was lovely and totally worth the effort. It's a nice dock with loungers, table and chairs, etc. It's quiet and pretty, and we had a glorious time in the water.

Was so beautiful. Felt like a studio & Futon hard for extra bed. Very peaceful.

I had eagerly anticipated a peaceful July 4th weekend at a private vacation spot, but my expectations were completely dashed. Upon arrival, I discovered that the basement rental (info not included in the post), which was supposed to be our private retreat, was in fact part of a bustling family gathering hosted by the owner upstairs. They were using every part of the property — the dock, the house, even the laundry room — leaving us unable to enjoy the peaceful getaway we had planned. I immediately contacted both the host and Vrbo for assistance, but despite my messages, I received no response from the host regarding whether his family intended to stay for the entire weekend. Frustrated and unable to relax in an occupied space, we left the property and returned later that evening, only to find out then that the family intended to stay the entire weekend. This situation left me incredibly disappointed, as I had specifically booked the spot for a private vacation. Had I known in advance about the family gathering, I would have made other arrangements. Unfortunately, it was July 4th weekend, and all nearby hotels were fully booked. We managed to find a room the next day, but the inconvenience was significant. Despite my request for a full refund, the host only offered a partial refund, which added to my frustration with the entire experience. Gary said he had told me he'd have people over making noise, which is not true. I shared all my proof with Vrbo.

We rode over 200 miles on a motorcycle to arrive to a property and no one was there, attempted multiple times to contact the host with no success. A very uneasy feeling. Expedia customer service was excellent. They helped us find a motel and are working on a refund. Not sure what happened. The host contacted me the next day but we had already made different arrangements and were out more money. Unfortunate as the place from the outside seemed very nice.
