The beginning of our stay at this property started off bad and didn't get much better. I messaged Dan that we were heading to the property at 3:30pm the day of our arrival and still had not received the codes or instructions for how to get into the property. I had to contact VRBO to see if they could provide instructions how to access the property, which they did not have. Our entire 7 person party was panicked by this time that we would not have a place to stay after paying a lot of money to rent this property. After countless tries by the VRBO rep. with no response from the property manager we started to look for other options. Finally 2 hours later we received codes to enter the property. The pictures show the property to be a lot nicer and updated than it actually is. The third floor apartment has black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and the guest that stayed in that apartment is allergic to it. By the end of the trip he was experiencing a scratchy throat, stuffy nose and headache. The refrigerator in the basement had moldy fruit in it. The couches in the property are uncomfortable and looked dingy. The property manager has clear instructions that state the guest must leave no later than 11:00am on day of departure (we checked out at 5am) or a $5.00 charge will be imposed for every 5 minutes past that time. However, given that we were not able to enter until 5:30pm on the day of arrival all we received was a "sorry :(" instead of offering money back.

We rented this place for my brother’s bachelor party and it was perfect. The house was great, everyone had a bed, the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, and the location could not have been better.
Thank you, will definitely recommend this to my friends!

Myself and another educator took 18 students on a Chicago trip and stayed in all 3 apartments including the basement. Will start with the positives. The home is is in a great area that is ideal if you want to explore the city. Very safe. Beds were comfy, and there were kitchen supplies provided. As for the not so great things. Plumbing is an issue. Myself and the educator stayed in the top floor anpartment and the water completely stopped working anytime anyone used showers downstairs. Like no water at all. We told the property on Monday of our Saturday to Saturday stay and nobody came out to deal with it. As a result we had to use the other apts to use the shower toilet, sink etc. We did get a slight refund which I really didn’t think was enough considering we couldn’t really even use our apt except for the beds. The other issue is the basement smells like sewage during rainstorms and there is a rat problem down there that we also informed the property manager about. All the students chips and bread in the kitchen down there was eaten by said rats. Hopefully the property manager dealt with all these problems.

We had a group stay here for the St. Patrick’s Day parade and Dan was a great host! Just a great location - only a 20-25 min walk from downtown! Dan was very responsive and the place was very clean! Highly recommend!

We spent a weekend in Chicago for my daughter’s birthday! She and her friends stayed on the second floor, my other children stayed together on the third - and we took the ground floor! This was a perfect location!

The location of this property was fantastic for me and 9 of my friends who met up in Chicago to celebrate my birthday. We loved being able to walk to Lake Michigan and to the Miracle Mile shops. There are plenty of great restaurants in walking distance. We loved brunch at Somerset in the Viceroy hotel so much that we went twice! There was plenty of space for each of us to have our own beds and having bathrooms and kitchens on each floor really came in handy. The only downsides to the property were the size of the bathrooms and the parking. It is an older home that has not been updated as much of the homes on the street appear to have been. There is no street parking permit provided for this location. I did not realize this at first and a friend almost got a ticket. I reached out to the property manager regarding a permit based on what the meter maid advised and was coldly told that the parking details were clearly provided in the check-in documents. I did not notice this in the documents when I reviewed them but also did not need to be scolded in that way. There is a paid parking lot down the block from the home. I would suggest carefully reading the check in documents provided to avoid having to communicate with the property manager during your stay. All in all, this home worked great for the purpose of my trip.

We enjoyed our stay. The set up was perfect for our group -- enough space for everyone to be comfortable, and nice large living area for all of us to gather and hang out as well. Location can be beat; just a short walk to tons of restaurants and bars.

Prime location
This building was in the most ideal area of Chicago! We didn’t have to Uber much since there was so much around it - beach, red line, restaurants, Old Town bars, and more. The only downside is that parking is expensive around it (we used SpotHero) but it was perfect other than that.
