I didn't like anything.
I didn't like the room. It smelled like urine. There was a lot of noise from the bar on the first floor and I couldn't sleep. The entrance was also smelling and dirty. There was a person sleeping at the main entrance.

Close to everything
Not expecting so many stairs

Quite suitable place when it comes to the location (nearest the Philadelphia Convention Center where I have the meeting). The other direction from the place is close to China town which was comfortable for me to look for dinner.
The 1st floor is quite noisy towards the night time. I hate the disco and the noise from neighbors' rooms. I stayed on the 2nd floor. The passcodes were extremely nightmare. At least 3 passcodes required, one for building entrance, one for 2nd floor, one for my room. Even the last 2 passcode were incorrect and need urgent help, but nobody to contact, even phone contact. I emailed the host via booking.com to get the instructions, finally, issues have been fixed.

I was told I can check in early at 11:15am, and was only given instructions at 3:00pm, an hour before the official check-in time. When I got to the reservation, I was not able to get in the second floor, and had to be let in by someone else. Upon reaching my room door, the code I was given did not work at all. I contacted the owner through email to let them know the code didn’t work. To which they promptly replied to try it again. I had been waiting outside my room for about an hour, retrying the code, sending emails and continuously calling the contact number only to be left with no response. I was forced to book another reservation where I was promptly given correct check-in details and was able to get in with ease. The owner of the place only got back to me hours later asking if I was able to get in. It is very disrespectful the fact that I was not able to get in contact with the owner when I needed them the most.

Close to convention centre
Difficult communication with property managers (only through booking.com), the codes given to us did not work and through tedious communication we finally got the right ones, little to no sound isolations so we heard the club’s music from midnight to 4am, room had no windows, stairway to the second floor is gross, armchair in the room was full of mold

Good location and good price.
At night the music coming from the club was outrageously loud. It was basically impossible to sleep.

The size of the room .
No air conditioner, room was hot . No windows to open , no fridge , no microwave and stairway was dirty and smelly . It needs an upgrade BIG time .

The room was okay. The location is close to the city center. Rather easy to get around.
Too much noise at night (bar or nightclub below, noise until 2am)
Incense smell too strong in the room.
Personal experience: an argument broke out between a couple one night, no owner intervened (it lasted more than an hour - bad insulation of the rooms and the corridor)

It was a wonderful experience - location was very convenient for me with the bus line and subway and was easy to get to my room despite a delayed flight that made me arrive in the early hours of the morning. Couldn't be better!
There were sounds at night from nearby businesses. It was st. Patrick's day which could explain it, and it wasn't massively loud but something to note if noise is a concern!

clean, good communication with owner, location, comfortable. price, available kitchen
the noise from below, some street noise, no wash cloth, limited flexibility in any time extension even though there wasn’t much to clean, no antenna on tv to watch live tv from local Philadelphia stations-that’s an easy fix.

Great value for inner city stay and secure location! The room was clean and a nice size. The shared kitchen area was updated and nice as well. Good for a brief stay and place to crash.
Steep and dingy stairwell. Carpeting is pretty gross in both stairwell and hallway.

Location to major tourist sights in Philadelphia City.
Cockroaches crawling in the room + bathroom sinks + kitchenette. Even after reporting to management no satisfactory action taken.
Bathrooms’ trash and kitchenette garbage not cleared even after 24 hours.
Low pressure water in bathrooms.
Digital room key stopped working suddenly, without warning.

I like the full kitchen and the location
Cleaning staff knocked on my door at 10:15am. I was resting from a morning race. Since I could not get at least 1 hr for late check out I rushed back and change my running race to accommodate the EXTREMLY early check out, which is no later than 11am. Also the TV did not work. The remote did not sync with the tv, batteries were dead. I may not stay here again due to the 11 am check out that doesn't sync well with Philadelphia races. at least 1 hr -30mins , late check out helps us runners in the long run. Overall its a good place to stay for price, location and the full kitchen available.

People need to know there is no elevator and you will have to carry your baggage up stairs
Carry baggage up 21 stairs and the loud music

Not being able to sleep is not cool. Having a rave party next door is less cool. Having constant 70 becibels of noise at 4am is horrible. The owners taking zero responsibility for it is unacceptable. Booking washing its hands and not doing anything to resolve the situation, process a refund or unlist this property shows how little they care about quality, and how much about profit. Shameful.

Having sustained 70 decibels of noise at almost 4 in the morning is simply unacceptable. This property is sitting next to a night club and, while I'm used to youth hostals and other similar "casual" places, never in my life have i experienced such blunt situation. The owners being totally unwilling to provide compensation for having a place unable to fulfill its primary purpose (that of providing accommodation and letting its guests sleep) is simply ridiculous. But it's Booking.com that in my view should be ashamed. It's unfortunate to list scoundrels in your system, but it can happen. Completely dismissing the situation and refusing to acknowledge, or act on it just shows that, with Booking.com, anything goes. After more than 10 years using their services, and with many other situations that were resolved successfully, this one to me proves that Booking.com will not help when you need them. I'll never use Booking.com again and, if I don't have an alternative and am forced to do it again, I promise to be the peskiest client they can hope for.

This is my second time staying here, I somehow managed to get the same room as last time. All doors are electronic with numeric codes, so you do not have to deal with any human interaction - very nice! Comfortable bed, reliable internet, private bathroom/shower, large flat-screen television with available HDMI ports.
No windows or any indication of that day/time it is. Some sort of outdoor light (or simulated outdoor light) would have been nice -- waking up and having no idea what time it is was disturbing. The doors opening and closing at all hours were quite loud this visit, I don't know what they could do to muffle those sounds. The enormous flight of stairs is daunting for someone who can't walk/climb stairs very well.
