Good location with some characters about.
Too many demanding women about, close the spa .

The member's club is absolutely superb. We were offered a room upgrade upon arrival and the pictures on booking do not do the place justice. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and beautifully decorated in a very British style, most rooms retaining some of the old furniture and fixtures. The location is close to Selfridges and Marylebone High street.

The room was superb, very comfortable and everything catered for.

Wonderful location- Attentive service - Opulent Decor & Splendour.

The hotel entrance was under renovation. It forced us to walk outside and the back service areas, and then through a maze of hotel sections. When we asked the manager for a rate adjustment, he smiled and ignored the question

Nothing
NO service at all. Terrible experience from beginning to the end
We were offended from the very beginning.
1. There is no signs or whatever outside 20 Home House Portman Square so when I opened the door, I asked the hotel lady was that the entrance. the lady replied bluntly what entrance and I said the hotel entrance. She said yes and walked back inside the hotel without offering any help on luggages. As we have quite a lot of luggages, I went in the hotel and asked for help. Another hotel staff then came to help us.
2. One night I couldn’t get a taxi with my son and we went back in the hotel and asked if they could help us to get a taxi. The reception man was reluctant and even asked if we were staying in the hotel. Another staff stepped in and told him that we were a hotel guest but that staff did not apologise to us.
3. The next day I asked the reception to print a document for me but the attitude of a young man staff was so poor and he kept saying they didn’t receive my documents after he confirmed from my mobile that the email address was correct. He just kept saying the document was not sent even after 5 minutes and finally, another staff showed to him at the same time when he repeated said that he didn’t receive my documents. At the same time, someone left a gift to that man staff to a hotel guest and he said thank you and had a good day when that lady who was not even a hotel guest left. For us, he said nothing when we left.
4. We ordered 2 room services for breakfast and everyday got something wrong. A sausage was missing on the first day, orange juice came when I didn’t order, the delivery time was 15 minutes late, gave 2 coffee instead of 1, no milk was given when we ordered on the first day!
5. When my son and I walked in and out of the hotel that 3 days, we were like invisible. No staff greeted or open the door for us when they actually saw us but just kept chatting themselves.

The location was great.
Excellent services available.
Toiletries were from Penaholigan.
Difficult to find the entrance. No sign outside to indicate entrance.
Wooden floors. Could hear even the smallest movement outside.

Home House is an amazing hotel. The rooms are beautiful and very authentic. With real antiques and proper traditional luxury beds and furniture (ie: not the usual made for hotel furnishings).
It is also a private members' club, and therefore there is a unique Club feel to the bars and restaurants. The standards are very high and the food and drink menu are excellent.
Although not cheap, I know, from experience, our suite, given its size and standard, would have been 3 or 4 times the price in one of the other 5-star London establishments. So , very good value for money, in my opinion.

Breakfast so good and beds comfortable, lounges gorgeous
The bath and shower was hard to operate being so old
Also our room was down stairs through the kitchen and there were loads of flies and dirt in the way each time, it was very unpleasant
4.4
The staff were so attentive and helpful. The room was a good size.
The bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied and the bathroom tap was dripping. For a property in this price bracket I would have expected no faults at all.
4.4
Breakfast amazing coffee and omelette
Our room was like servants quarters down filthy stairs with loads of flies and kitchen

Great location for the event I was presenting at. Welcoming staff at check in and through out my stay. I was upgraded to the Lady Islington room , which was fantastic.
Nothing. Ticked every box.

Almost everything! Absolutely amazing building and staff!
Only negatives:
- shower wasn't the best with hard to control temperatures.
- room was a bit too warm and couldn't turn the AC down any mor further than 19C.

The suite we stayed in was something special. Will never see anything like it elsewhere

A classic and fancy place in a quiet and elegant area with all the main streets within a 10-15 minutes walk, and really nice parks even closer. The building is stunning (as their impressive stairs). I had plans with friends so I couldn't have a dinner in the restaurant, but if it is as good (food, style and service) as where they served the breakfast... Top notch.
Def worth the Visit. I wish I'll be back at the end of the year 😊
Nothing. 👌

Excellent central location in London, charming house, fun atmosphere, excellent Christmas decorations, offers the charm of a club rather than a standard hotel
Service a bit slow and uneven in the bar / lounge area, bedrooms on top floor were bit of a hike to get to, corridors badly overheated, bedrooms large and comfortable but could do with some updating
4.4
staff are great and the property is beautiful. super convenient location.
the bathrooms are in need of updates, could use some maps to figure out how to get around!
4.4
fantastic history and great spacious rooms and areas to hang out.
staff seemed untrained and unhelpful for the most part.

The hotel had beautiful exterior set on Portman Square located centrally with many bars, restaurants and shopping all close by. The interior was quirky, eclectic and transported you back in time, our room was also decorated in the same theme as the rest of the hotel. The service from the staff was above and beyond, and nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel is a bit of a maze, but this just adds to the charm.
4.4
noise from the club until 1.30am
not welcomed in the restaurant

great location and stunning to look at. the staff are very friendly too.
only downside is our room wasn’t as clean as it should be. empty bottles left in the room from previous guests, some questionable mark on the wall next to the toilet, ridiculous amount of dirt under the plug in the bath. also the plumbing in the room we were in was ridiculous, pressure of the taps meant the bath took ages to be ready and was only lukewarm. we were here for an important medical appointment so didn’t raise with the staff there and then as by the time we got to the room and realised we just wanted to go to bed, and we were only for one night so not the end of the world.
4.4
Lovely staff, who are genuinely helpful. We were given an upgrade to a suite as our planned room was not ready, which was fab
It's an amazing building, beautifully restored
