Exceeded all expectations!

It was just superb. We were allocated a lovely log cabin which exceeded our expectations. The location and views were stunning including the Northern Lights one night. Friendly host and lovely breakfast.

There was nothing we didn't like! We hope to stay here again.

I wish I could live here

The bedroom felt like a home away from home. Amazing view of the surrounding mountains and ocean. The complimentary breakfast (toast, eggs, cheese, deli meat, bell pepper, cucumber, Icelandic feta, tomato, granola/seeds, Icelandic yogurt, cereal, coffee, tea, orange juice) was delicious and served in a stunning light-rich room. Location is perfect, close to a town with many restaurant options and charming scenery.

Perfect stay and opening for a Iceland trip at welcoming and cozy cottage

Very remote location, the next village is a few kilometres away. we had our own little cottage making this a wonderful experience. Marteinn was very nice and helpful borrowing us some butter when we forgot it at our shopping tour. Breakfast is very good and the view you’ll have while enjoying it is breathtaking. very hard to find anything with a better value for money.

Nice Guesthouse in an incredible position, with Great view of the fjord and the Kirkjufell Mount. You need a car to reach the Guesthouse, 5 minutes far from Grundarfjordur. The room was a bit small but nice and clean. We really enjoyed the breakfast. Great stay.

Stayed in the apartment/chalet with sea view ans it was better than expected. Bigger and warmer than expected and very cosy. Location is perfect. It's a place I would love to spend a week at. Travelled the whole island and this was probably the best value for money.

best stay in Iceland. wish we could stay longer.

amazing stay in the cottage. view was amazing- ocean view & kirkufell. cork floor in cottage modern kitchen & bath. perfect quiet location close to town. best restaurant in Iceland just down road; Bjargarsteinn Mathús. loved our stay in this gorgeous spot. the klakstjorn hike right x the street is a good 4 mile hike to see the gorgeous landscape is a must do! hostess Marguerite was friendly & helpful! saw the northern lights from here!!!

Great view and even better stay.

The location is excellent. On a clear day or even rainy day you can look across the ocean to see the beautiful Kirkjufell peak. It’s located only 10 minutes out of town (Grundarfjordur) and right by a scenic golf course. We stayed in the duplex cottage which was clean, cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful as well. I would love to spend more time here but our travel plans are taking us elsewhere.

Sudur Bar looks just like the photos

We stayed in the apartment with sea view and were so impressed with the view. Although it was a modest cabin there was everything you needed minus a hairdryer

clean. nice staff but needs to be upgraded with some basic amenities. nicer towels. toiletries.

it’s basic. thin towels. no soap or shampoo. our room was very small and was very basic. 2 shared bathrooms for all 5 rooms.

lovely location and v quiet.

very quiet location - not too far from town. had the detached cottage so able to do own dinner (important as not much open in town on a Tuesday). comfortable. good Wi-Fi. Views back over the bay were great.

bathroom v small and no sitting area (only at the small kitchen table) which is hard after a while. curtains could be improved. no TV (but knew this going in)

* We reserved a room with private bathroom and which was located in a nice wooden house next to the main building with a very nice view * We could have breakfast at 7:30h (instead of 8:00h) because we needed to leave early in order to catch our ferry

Wonderful quiet location with a great view and just a few minutes into town. The kitchen had all the dishes and cooking gear we needed. A seperate bedroom and lots of storage was an added bonus.

Best place to stay in the area

Location is awesome. We were lucky to be able to stay in one of the two separate cabins and we were extremely lucky with the weather so that we could enjoy memorable sunsets just right in front of the Kirkjufell . In my opinion the place is way much better from what you see in the photos. So if spending a couple of days in the Snaefellness peninsula consider Sudur as your best option.
