Comfy and quiet

The b&b itself is a nice looking building with lovely decoration and character.
The breakfast was nice and cooked fresh to order.
The double room was much smaller than expected, at breakfast I did notice my tea cup saucer was dirty, and my friends tea cup had a hair in it.
The road noise is pretty loud and consistent.

Excellent hospitality for the night before my wedding. Rooms were comfortable and clean! Staff even got up early to make us an extra early breakfast before my big day. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

excellent breakfast - with fried bread and not frozen hash browns.
Friendly owners/staff.
room a bit small but adequate for 1 night

A great welcome and engagement with the host throughout our stay when needed. We loved the hosted B&B.
A cleverly designed and very clean room in excellent condition.
Breakfasts were delicious and we also enjoyed a simple and tasty lunch in the tea rooms.
We enjoyed dinner at two local pubs (very different) which were within walking distance.
It’s on a busy road, but that was only an issue when we arrived.
Our room was well away from the road.

Breakfast was wonderful! Pre selected the evening before.
Room was lovely - we had the apartment which made all the difference. Staff really helpful and friendly.
Such a nice area. Highly recommended!
Nothing all good.

Breakfast was very good. Bed was very comfy. Room was clean and tidy.
There were no breakfast cereals. The nearby A-road was noisy at times during the night.

Couldn't see the TV from bed 😂
Everthing elese was great - I had the apartment with the kitchen.

We travelled for a family party and the accommodation was near the venue. Lovely welcome, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, would recommend.
As with other places in the Forest there was no phone signal but one could use wifi. Our bedroom was small but the bathroom was commodious.

Great Host, very friendly, Lots of TV channels to watch including Talk TV and GBNews unlike other Hotel chains, Peaceful location, Apartment well equipped, access easy from Car (like a Motel) nice accommodation, No Bath tub to soak and relax in after long tiring day, Nice Breakfast included, Unlimited Tea
Small things but ...Soundproofing was not really good enough for us - we could hear TV from other room/s. late at night. There was also no door on the Bedroom and an unusual designed hole in the wall to the lounge, which meant insufficient privacy and at night, it was too light as light was coming from the Lounge and especially from the Kitchen owing to translucent window blinds and bright Oven Display light.

Exactly what we were looking for after a long day at a wedding. Rooms are on the smaller size however have all the facilities required: bed, wardrobe, en-suite, parking and breakfast on site.
Bed was comfortable and room was warm.
With breakfast included, no concerns about needing to find anything the next day. I am coeliac and they were able to reassure me and accommodate to this. Very impressed.
Owners were friendly and chatty, showing a real interest in our lives and our stay.
Due to the wedding we needed an earlier check in time, after some emails, this was accommodated.

quiet location. lovely breakfast area
our room was very small
5.0
The room was clean and appointed appropriately for the cost of the accommodation. Breakfast was included in the price and was a hearty breakfast. Pod coffee machine was a nice touch, instructions on how to use it would have been even better. Additional portable heater in the room was a god send.
On arrival, we could not find anyone to check us in, despite the tea room door being unlocked! with no phone service in the area, we could not even ring for assistance, luckily, another regular guest arrived a while later and knew where to find the owners! The Room and bathroom are very small, no information on how to operate any of the appliances, the shower was very difficult to operate, as there was a rusty oddments tray right against the controls, the sink is only any good for rinsing your hands, impossible to wet shave, it's so small that when you turn on the tap. water cascades down the cabinet and this has started to delaminate due to water damage. The doors did not shut as they caught on the floor, which seemed to be lifting in places. The heating kept going off, with no instruction on the heating control on the wall, it was difficult to maintain an even temperature. When someone else drew off hot water, the water system in the cupboard, vibrated and made a terrific noise, luckily this only wen on for a few minutes.

Breakfast was lovely.
Our room, while modern, was very very small..suitcase ..no room to open, nowhere for clothes or even put toiletries. Way to small and we're not huge.
Lovely people though.

Nothing. It was my home in the 1950s. The improvements were fantastic.

The breakfast was really good with freshly prepared ingredients
The room was small with a small wardrobe space and just about enough room for the large and medium suitcase in the room

Nothing! All good.

The host and staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room, although small was tidy, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts hearty.
Our refreshments were not refilled on day 2. Upon asking the host though, he was very happy to supply.

the location was perfect for our Forest of Dean Steam Train and a trip to Chepstow castle
