The property was beautiful. The hosts were friendly. Everything was clean. The beds were comfortable and we all had a great vacation. I would recommend this to anyone.

We came up to relax & explore the Black Hills, Jewel Cave & Mt Rushmore without camping. This modern home feels like leaps up from clamping without the crowds of town and hotels. It was perfect! After a day exploring, we could come back and play games, make s’mores, cook our own meals (food allergies here) & sleep with fresh air coming in the windows in cozy beds.
Debbie & Doug were perfect hosts. She replied so fast to questions I had when preparing, helped with some suggestions (like making sure to have a reservation at Jewel Cave & spending enough time in Custer state park). It truly was exactly what we were looking for on this summer breakaway!
Plan to tuck suitcases away or lay flat & open under the bed as there aren’t closets but the space was perfect for our family of 3.
Be sure to make time to try The Custer Wolf if you also have food allergies (or even if not). The service & food were 5* too!
Thank you for such a wonderful place!

Argyle Acres was the perfect home base for exploring all of the National & State parks nearby. It was immaculately clean, comfortable, & had everything you might need. I even met the host when we were both outside taking photos of the beautiful sunset one evening. We definitely recommend this adorable cottage!

Our stay at Argyle Acres was amazing! We are a family of 4 (the two of us and our two kiddos ages 5, and 9), and the space was great! From the beginning, Debbie and Doug were amazing to work with! They are very kind and responsive hosts, who truly care about your stay and comfort. Everything was so clean and inviting from the moment we pulled in and stepped inside! The welcome card was very thoughtful, as well as the S'mores Station supplies. Everything was very organized and easy to use/find. When we did need help, both Debbie and Doug were very prompt and accommodating. Our son LOVED the soft rug, and our daughter loved the serenity and peace of being in nature. The beds and pillows were all very comfortable, and the towels were SO FLUFFY! Our kids loved the extra throw blankets, and the campfire blankets provided, as well. We had everything we needed to make simple meals during our stay, and were thankful for all the fresh supplies (the new dish sponge, paper towels, etc) to help keep things clean. We all enjoyed bonding over the board games that were available, during the small windows of downtime we had between our adventures. I will never get over how beautiful the sunset and sunrise are over the landscape, there. It was truly an unforgettable stay, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for serenity while being in a perfect location to get to many of the amazing sites to see in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Argyle Acres. The house was the perfect size for our family of four. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, cookie sheets, and cooking utensils. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. It was a great location - driving distance to all of the sights, and then come home away from the hustle and bustle for dinner and relaxing in the evening. We had fun cooking s'mores in the fire pit area. It was a great stay; one of the nicest VRBOs we've stayed in!

This house was perfect for our week in South Dakota! The house was clean and exactly as listed. The yard was great for our girls to play volleyball and soccer in the evenings.
Location was great too! Would definitely come back!

The cabin was the perfect location to all the sites we wanted to see, Black Hills, Custer State Park, National Parks, and Mt Rushmore. Check-in was very easy and the cabin was extremely clean. We had a question about the gas grill while we were there and the hosts were super responsive.
We loved our stay!

The property was very clean, nicely decorated, and well stocked with amenities for our family of four. We enjoyed sitting around the fire a few nights in the chilly evenings. The property is not too far off the main road and the views are spectacular. The owners thoughtfully put together a book with the closest places to go for groceries, gas, restaurants, etc. There are so many things to do in the area, some taking 30 minutes to get to while others may take an hour or two, but again the drive to get to places and the views are just spectacular. We enjoyed our time here and would absolutely recommend this property to someone traveling to the area.

The location was quiet and peaceful.
We loved seeing the baby bunnies living under the front porch.
Having the gas grill available was great to be able to cook at home.
The unit was clean and had all the amenities we needed.
The only think we we ask for is an ottoman to put feet up while relaxing in the living room.
We would definitely stay there again

If I could give 10 stars I would! From the moment we booked to the end of our vacation the host was friendly and informative. The property was very clean, decorated super cute, and the extra attention to detail made our stay that much more enjoyable. The property is in a quiet beautiful location but also close (within an hour or less) to most of the tourist attractions making this a perfect place to stay. Thank you Debbie and Doug for a fantastic vacation!

This is our second time staying at this cabin because we enjoy the location so much. Close enough to everything but far enough away from the business of town. Highly recommend staying here!

Our family had a great stay in the cottage!! This cottage is located out in the country side away from the hussle and bussle of town. The yard is big enough for the kids to run a bit and stretch their legs from all the sightseeing. It features a grill and table/chairs on the porch to sit back and relax. The cottage its self is very nice and Very clean (which is a huge deciding factor for us). It also has a nice sized fridge and full size stove to cook on. Plenty of utensils to cook with. The owners are very attentive to detail and your needs, very quick to respond. I give this place a 5 🌟 rating.

Enjoyed the clean stay in between Custer and wind cave. Seemed to be about 20 minutes from each.

The cabin was the perfect spot for our trip. We needed to decompress from the stress of extremely busy jobs but wanted to still enjoy the sites. The cabin was so peaceful and relaxing while still a good base to see the beautiful sites of area. The hosts were perfect in letting us know to contact them if we needed anything and encouraging me to walk around the property after seeing me walking along the drive. Lots of little things in the cabin showing it was very well planned out! Definitely a 5 star stay for us!

This is the perfect base camp to explore the Black Hills. We loved the location - within easy reach of all the things you want to do and see in the Black Hills, but away from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed the peace and quiet each evening after doing "touristy" things all day. The cabin is bright and cozy, and the mattresses are very comfortable.
Debbie and Doug were great hosts - they even put together a nice snack basket for us! We will definitely recommend the cabin to friends and family who are planning to visit South Dakota next year.

This place was exactly as described. We loved staying here, was great for our truck and trailer, lots of room to park/pull around. If you are looking for an area to off road, this is the place to stay. Trails all around and right in the middle of all of the quaint little mountain towns as well. Hosts were amazing.

We were looking to experience being in the prairie. The location was perfect for that. It is just about in the middle of nowhere. There are neighbors but at a long distance. Our hosts live next door but we rarely saw them. They came by our 2nd night when we were sitting out on the front porch to say hello and chatted a little bit but that was it. Sitting outside was a delight - Adirondack chairs beside the house, a picnic table on the other side of the house, and a small table and two chairs right on the porch. Perfect! Beautiful skies to view - sunsets to the west, sunrises to the east, gorgeous clouds, and LOTS of stars at night. Inside the house, it was also just about perfect. Comfortable furniture (although I missed having a coffee table or ottoman to put my feet up in the living room area), everything we needed in the kitchen, comfy beds, and everything perfectly clean. We took trips to Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse, and spent the rest of the time at Custer State Park which we LOVED. Beautiful drives to and from everything. Gorgeous area. Shopping in Custer worked our great.

Wonderful place to stay in South Dakota - clean, quiet, secluded - but close enough to area attractions such as Custer State Park, Devil's Tower and the Badlands - really enjoyed our visit here and would stay again if in the area!

This place was so clean and cute. The little touches like the note and snacks made us feel welcome. Owners were available if we needed anything and gave us privacy. Location was great, in the middle of everything we wanted to see! The sunsets and little bunnies were so nice each night to see after a long day sight seeing. Would recommend to anyone!
