Last Mango in Hatteras has undergone an impressive full home remodel! Elegant, stylish, and beachy this is a seaside dream. It sits on the oceanfront with a picturesque view of the water and direct beach access.
The top floor has chic new windows and a large modern arch mirror to maximize light in the dining room, kitchen, and living room. The kitchen has been upgraded to have stainless steel appliances with a stylish geometric backsplash. The large granite countertops offer supplementary modern barstool seating in addition to the dining room table directly behind. Underneath the eclectic hanging light fixture is the six-seat dining table. The surrounding décor and exposed beams elevate the coastal cottage appeal. Relax on cozy deep blue sofas or sip on your morning coffee on the outside deck overlooking the ocean.
This top level has two bedrooms. The king-size main bedroom on the top level has one of the best views in the house. Wake up to a panoramic view of the ocean, with the windows and sliding doors in this room all facing towards the sea. There is also a queen-size main bedroom on this floor that has its own perk; direct access to the hot tub deck!
One level down, on the mid-level, are three more bedrooms. All bedrooms are main bedrooms and their adjoining bathrooms all have tub/shower combos. The newly renovated bathrooms feature gorgeous new patterned flooring to liven up the space. The splashes of color continue on to the bedrooms. One room features dual single-size beds with deep blue bed frames to match the dresser. Meanwhile, the harmonious violet wall décor plays tribute to the property's name. The queen-size main on this floor offers a more classic take on coastal relaxation with its grand wooden bedframe and playful pops of orange. This room is perfect for whoever is seeking to do a bit of work or school while on vacation (A.K.A a 'flexcation') with its connected stylish den/office space. The final additional bedroom features a pyramid bunk and double-sized bed for maximized sleeping space. All bedrooms come with their own personal TV, and all TVs in the house are equipped with Hulu Live, ESPN+, and Disney+.
One of the most recently renovated spaces at Last Mango in Hatteras is the completion of the lower-level game room, with a kitchen, and bonus double bunk sleeping space. There is a shuffleboard and foosball table situated in front of a large TV and small seating room for the best vacation hangout area all only steps away from the outside pool! We received a decent amount of rain during our stay. The rain washed all the dirt from the pool deck right into the pool. The midweek pool cleaning was Wednesday. Come 5:30pm, no one had shown up so I called. Vacasa insisted someone was on their way. No one came. I called early Thursday. They told me someone should’ve come yesterday, duh. No one came Thursday either. The hot tub was also disgusting and caused our kids to break out. There were rusty nails all over the deck, a lot of them sticking up. Several cockroach sightings throughout the week. A poor patch job in one of the bedrooms caused part of the ceiling to fall in halfway through or stay. The outdoor shower does not latch from the inside so you need to take a shower with the door open. Not much privacy. The deck where the hot tub is does not have direct access to the pool area without going back into the house and down two flights of stairs. No ideal for kids wanting to have fun going from the pool to the hot tub. Overall, I would not recommend this house unless they put some care into it.

Not clean. Not private. The Bch access is right next to the house. Everyone in the neighborhood uses it and passes by the pool. The House next door deck and this one are too close. The hot tub is old and jets don’t work and doesn’t stay hot. The hot tub cover is rotten and particles from it are floating in the tub. The master bed was comfy. But when I went to strip the sheets there was a huge pee or sweat stain on the mattress ( no mattress cover) had I known I wouldn’t have slept there.
The furniture in the pictures is different. The couch that is there is cheap fake plastic. Very uncomfortable to hang out on. Overall dissatisfied and would not stay there again. The pictures are very good but totally misleading!!

LOVED the home. Well equipped, right on the beach, updated throughout. It is located in a great spot in Avon. Vacasa as a company - not so much. Two MAJOR issues with them. 1. They were doing beach replenishment right in front of the house. We were blocked out of getting to or using the beach access for several days, plus they were doing the work deep into the night (beeping/back up alarms on the backhoes, construction lights etc.). I picked and paid extra for this house specifically to be right on the beach. NO ONE warned us about the scheduled beach replenishment project. If they had, I would have picked another house or another week. 2. We had one of the AC units go out. It took Vacasa over two days to get someone out to look at it. Little to zero updates or communication from them despite repeated calls into their maintenance group. All in all, really put a damper on the whole family vacation. Sooooo, Vacasa and owner, am I getting a refund for paying extra to be right on the beach and not being warned I could not actually use or even get to the beach while I was in the house?

The home was laid out well and there was plenty of sleeping accommodations for everyone to be comfortable. The basement is a really nice space! The online description makes it seem like you can walk out from the basement to the pool, but there is no pool entrance - you have to walk around the outside of the house. Not a huge deal, but we were surprised by it. The house was not very clean upon arrival. We sent photos of the issues and they did send a second cleaning crew out, but all they did was make the beds.

We liked the house. Really enjoyed pool but as an oceanfront, really couldn’t see much of ocean. The walk to beach was longer than expected. They need to extend the wood walkway further. Hard climb through deep sand. ( back problems & this kills you) & sand gets extremely hot early!

Beds were the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on! Seriously, they were amazing. Lovely ocean sounds could be heard all day and night. Elevated hot tub made for soaking with a lovely view. Stop searching, stay here… it’s perfect.

Great house- lots of nice bedrooms, each w/en suite bath. Game room and movie room were excellent. Wonderful, large, very clean pool. Very nice, clean hot tub. Perfect location- beautiful sound side views but just a short 10 minute walk to beach. HUGE kitchen, which was great for our party of 10,which included 5 skilled cooks- we never bumped in to each other! Had a fabulous week in this spacious and spotless home.
