Large room and bathroom make me confortable.

The front desk staff were not friendly and helpful. Maybe it was because we spoke English. Overall, the hotel is nice and big, especially the bathroom, which is very comfortable for bathing. The breakfast was tasty as well.

Decent hotel located close to the central area. I was impressed with receptionist that willing to inform about the hotel. However, front staff was lack of willing to help an un reliable. I have been told by their staff via expedia chat that I can park for free until 13.00 of check out date, but when I arrived suddenly charged 1500 yen and have to pay extra after 12.00pm with irresponsible to the previous info.

It was a great place to stay, and ideally located within walking distance to many shopping areas.
The rooms were clean and nicely decorated ; the staff were very efficient, friendly, helpful, and accommodating; and we had a nice view from our room.

The room was clean and comfortable, and I appreciated that the amenities were already provided in the room rather than having to pick them up from the front desk. The staff were very kind and pleasant.

Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is a bit older but we still liked it. The shower was spacious. Everything was walking distance. Super convenient! We will definitely stay here again!

We stayed in different hotels of Nikko through out Japan, thus so far this was the oldest/dated facility we came across. We had 2 rooms for 2 nights. Beds were super uncomfortable and it was a pain to spend 2 nights at this hotel. We wanted to cancel our last night of stay, but hotel would not accept it. Walking to busy area was easy. More on the quiet area of town but nearby the shopping district. Many newly built hotels in Kyoto, we would definitely pick another hotel when we revisit and not be coming back to this hotel.

The Nikko Princess Hotel was an excellent stay for us. Its location met our agenda very nicely. Kyoto is a city that is best appreciated by walking or public transit, and the hotel is located in walking distance of central Kyoto. There are many places to eat and shop nearby as well as access to tourist spots.
Our only complaint is that Expedia mess up our reservation so that we ended up in a Smoking Room, not the Non-Smoking we had requested. However, the Princess Hotel did everything they could to make surewe were comfortable.

Very nice Hotel in the center of Kyoto, next to metro.
Wide rooms, excellent service.

It is a nice hotel and not in a busy area, so it's quiet for a bigger hotel, but odd it is in a rather quaint neighborhood. Easily walkable to a subway station and to the main shopping boulevard. Many small streets with shops and restaurants nearby and worth exploring. Convenience store and post office a short walk away.

I got a creepy feeling the first time I entered the room. Old architecture, old futniture, old drapes. Catered towards 60+ people. Spacious. However, I do not recommend and I personally will never come back.

There are two restaurants to choose from: regular dining and Japanese restaurant. I was very satisfied with the meal. The hotel staff was also nice and friendly.

Easy access to subway station. Staff really helpful in getting our luggage arranged for transfer to next hotel. Room really spacious but little old. I would definitely stay @ this property again.

Warm and sincere hospitality especially from Concierge team Concierge Chef and Irene. I stayed at Prince Hotel in Shinagawa years ago, it was beautiful during the Cherry Blossom season, the service standard at Nikko Princess is excellent. It’s within walking distance to numerous places. If you are a first timer, it’s ok to visit Nishiki Market just once. Check in advance for key festivals during your visit, to optimise your experience in Kyoto. Pace is leisurely here.

Very good location, very large rooms and bathrooms by Kyoto standards and everything was clean. However, the staff wasn’t as nice as the one we experienced at Hyatt Regency in Kyoto (we had split our five nights between these two hotels) nor were the amenities as good. The hotel is dated (late 60s / early 70s) but everything works and is clean. So, great value for money if you’re looking for something in the central Kyoto area.

We were delighted to find a spacious room and encounter courteous staff during our stay. Despite we don’t speak Japanese language, we were able to seek assistance from helpful staff members who patiently assisted us in planning our travel itinerary.
