Great hotel - especially good for attending football as it’s near the stadium

Staff was amazing

I would not recommend this hotel. The rooms were way too small for 2 people, even by European standards. If you are a single person, it would be fine. It was smaller than a dorm room with no bureau or surface to put your clothes. Our luggage and clothes had to stay under the bed. It is similar to a hostel, not an average comfortable hotel room. It would probalby be ok for a studen. The online photos of the lobby and rooms are very deceiving. The lobby has a variety of broken down couches which were not clean or comfortable. Pros: the sheets were very clean. There are many hotels in Reykjavik, so I would stay elsewhere next time.

Nice and helpful staff. Breakfast option also great to have. Rooms simple yet comfy.

Nice job w breakfast starting at 3am ! And at a good price (for Iceland)
Outside balcony lights should be dimmer to help viewing of the northern lights.
It would have been good to allow for early checking- esp considering that overseas flights can arrive early in the day.
Staff was v good.

Ordered 2 roms with breakfast, and paid to hotels.com. still we needed to pay extra for breakfast.
Stay away from this hotell.

The hotel was excellent. Staff was super friendly. Rooms are in excellent conditions. Maybe a bit small but when you only need a good bed to sleep, it was perfect for us. Bathroom super neat. Maybe the only downside was the quantitu of parking spaces are small. At night we needed to park in fron of the hotel, but the area is quite safe so, was not a big deal. Overall, I will book this one again.

We were happily able to check in earlier than the usual 3pm time. The room was small but adequate and the two twin beds pushed together were very comfortable. We liked that each bed had its own separate blanket. Nice location, walkable to the city center. Overall a great experience for our one night stay. Thank you.

Nice clean unit and property. Nothing special but exactly what we wanted.

Came back here again out of convenience. Easy to get to, easy to park, and easy to check in and out (24 hr desk). The room without windows was a little odd, but it's a good place to stay either upon arrival or before leaving the country.

The hotel is on the seafront (Sæbraut) and is a stone's throw from a bus stop (bus N12 will take you to the city centre in approximately fifteen minutes).
Rooms are cozy and clean and so is the bathroom (the shower is big enough). I've been there 11 nights.
Definitely worth the shot - also it's a lot more comfortable than a hostel.

Every thing was terrible

Room was very small. Cleaning stuff just walked in to let us know the check out time plus got a call when we were leaving at check out time. Poor service

Basic and affordable

Large hotel, but not hard to find space in the parking lot. It's a bit of a walk to the main areas of the city, but doable. Considering rooms include bathrooms, it was a good deal.

Okay quality for price but lacked power connections apart from the one in the loo.

Shower was very small as well as the room.

Amazing location, clean, walkable to the ocean and the center. Highly ecommend!

Great location. Supermarkets, cafes and restaurants close by. Very small rooms, no space to open a suitcase. Thin walls, can easily hear guests next door and in hallway. Great lobby and bar area. Good for 2 night.

Customer service

I guess the hotel overall is ok and fairly new but there was not a single shelf or drawer in the room and it had by far the smallest bathroom I had ever seen. I would say an RV’s bathroom is larger. I could not turn around in the shower (I am skinny), and the sink was again the tiniest I have ever seen. No hair dryer either. On the bright side, the front desk is open 24/7, the room was clean, they offer early breakfast and the staff was knowledgeable about the surroundings. Mainly due to the bathroom size, I would not stay there again.

Small room with no lamp and seemed like a jail cell

The room we got (for 2 people) was very small. We did not have enough space to put our things. I know there are other options at different prices, but still very small for two people. The beds were very comfortable. There were some noisy people.

I would not reccomend to use this place a base, the room can barely fit the small bed and you can access it from one side only, there are vans with larger bathroom.
The breakfast wasn't bad.
5.0
Nice location but it is about 1.8 miles from downtown. There is a great walk path to downtown along the waterfront. There are plenty of electric scooters for rent. The staff is great and will help you any time

The staff at Hotel Cabin were friendly and helpful, the bed was very comfortable, and the location of the hotel was great for getting around the city.
4.0
Easy walk into town, good location to walking path along the bay. Nice views, convenient to local shops and groceries. The dinner buffet was really good, we ate every night, nice options. This was a good value to price point option of hotel.

The breakfast is great. We need to leave for airport around 6am. Light breakfast is provided from 3am.
2.5
Friendly and helpful front desk. Room and bathroom are clean. It’s comfortable, just right for a night resting before the cruise. Hotel location is a walking distance from downtown, convenient store and the shore.
5.0
Great hotel and staff. Rooms are clean and basic. I booked a superior room and felt it was worth the extra money. Most tours pickup at this hotel, and there is a covered bus stop across the street to get you downtown. Breakfast is from 7-10 each morning, and is above average for the price. A smaller version of breakfast starts at 5am with limited items. Mini market is across the street, but a Kronan supermarket is one block, and has everything at a reasonable price. The nicest largest public geothermal pool is 6 blocks away. Breakfast includes; boiled eggs, porrage, cereal, breads, pastries, ham, salami, cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, jams, peanut butter, oranges, yogurt, tea, juices, and coffee. Hotel had an evening bar, ample common area seating, and simple dinner buffet from 6-8. Front desk rep Lenny is awesome, and every other staff member so nice, too. Recommend

We were referred to sister property call Hotel Kettur which had good facilities that currently are under renovation and will only be better with time.

The staff at Hotel Cabin are amazingly responsive. Maria Jose, Jón and Carolina responded very efficiently and with great courtesy and politeness to numerous emails that I sent when my plans changed. Great staff!

What you would get with a basic hotel, one step up from a hostel. Found the hotel has a lot of school tours come to stay, so can get a bit busy and noisy. Room is small, fine for a bed for the night. Its fine for one person but a squeeze for a couple and suitcases. Hotel is 28min from the city centre and some good places to eat along the route. You also have a bus outside to get into town, if not keen on the walk. Just make sure you have the correct cash to hand. One down side would be the breakfast. As there is just the absolute basic. Nothing hot like a cooked breakfast. Reception was good though in helping when needed. If you just need a cheap room for a night or two, stay here.
