Lovely family room, warm and cosy. Attentive staff, nice breakfast and great views.

Excellent hotel, lovely staff and good food. Just let down by the condition of the pool, needs a very good clean and lick of paint

Great room, nice breakfast, friendly staff, amazing views.

The staff make this hotel. We had 3 great nights. Breakfast and dinner excellent

Only stayed overnight as part of a Lake District break, but really enjoyed this hotel. Had a fantastic evening meal (sharing steak came with mash, roast spuds, yorkshire pudding, mixed veg and pigs in blankets!) and breakfast next morning was excellent too.
Very friendly & helpful staff. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Cumbia and the Lake District.

On arrival went to our room after nice greeting from staff at desk.checked around room,utensils/pots unclean, obviously not checked properly ? Apartment bit tired looking, could be doing with some touch up in painting etc, balcony area similar,table/chairs needed clean up,cushions/throw would be nice touch ? Pool area was also needing general touch up to better standards as we experienced on stay few years earlier.Would hope owner would take my suggestions positively and I'm sure would benefit him moving forward.

Really great room for families with 2 beds on a mezzanine level and a separate lounge. Great food and service. Warm swimming pool. Would not describe hotel as a “spa” hotel as such but the hot tub is a nice addition to the pool. Fantastic views of the fells and walks from the door.

Beautiful stay and service

Friendly staff, excellent food and very nice apartment.

Fantastic stay. Staff were friendly and all very helpful. I'd stay here again just for the staff service.
Food was excellent. We had an evening meal which was delicious and breakfast which was top quality. Special shout for the homemade jam! Welcome drink and cake on checking in which was a lovely surprise.
Drinks were quite expensive but no different from the surrounding area. Room could have been cleaner but it was clean enough not to be an issue.
Swimming pool and Hot tub were nice extras. The views are incredible so if you're lucky to have nice weather the outside seating is great.

One of the best Hotels we have stayed at - very helpful and Friendly staff - good sized comfortable room - and a swimming pool and gym ! Excellent - will return

The breakfast and dinner were good. The location is also good convenient drive to Keswick and Cockermouth.
However on the downside the hotel has staffing issues and so the service at breakfast and dinner were very slow. In addition, our two rooms booked were not cleaned on day 2. In addition, the swimming pool is restricted to rwo hours in the morning per day and so not good. Overall a poor to average hotel.

Lovely hotel in a prime position to explore the Lakes.

Everyone was nice and friendly, check in and check out was smooth, the food at the restaurant is excellent, we really enjoyed our breakfast and dinner. Sadly our bed was so soft and uncomfortable, that ruined our good night sleep. Pool area looks dirty, it really needs some TLC. Hot tub was outside under a gazeboo but looked abadonded. I was expecting more of a spa environment, I would avoid it if this is the reason of your stay.

Arrived to check in which I thought went smoothly to then find out that the apartment we booked did not have an infant bed as requested and was previously acknowledged on the booking. The apartment had a cotbed which our toddler would not fit in. Another cotbed was brought up until staff were told yet again that an infant bed was required. This was frustrating as it unsettled our toddlers bedtime routine. Once asleep the noise from upstairs with the banging footsteps on the floorboards was continuous until after midnight. Breakfast was the a disaster in the morning as the majority of the order was incorect with no orange juice, no granola and porridge wrong which was seeved with wrong toppings and whole milk which I was not informed when it was presented even though staff were clearly told 5 mins prior regarding a dairy allergy. This was then returned to then wait for it to be corrected with no apology.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment, incredible views, there was a generous amount of space for us all. Everything was maintained to a high standard. On arriving we received a warm and friendly welcome and throughout our stay the staff were more than happy to help us with anything we needed and really couldn’t do enough for us. The accommodation was lovely and excellent standards were clear throughout the hotel, access to the pool was def a added bonus but none of this would have meant much if wasn’t for the outstanding effort from all the staff and we especially found Mags to be truly wonderful and sincere. Will definitely be returning xx

Modern seeming inspite of age of original building, bedrooms attractive, swimming pool a wonderful bonus

3 day stay at Embleton Spa at end of August 23. Stayed in Skiddaw apartment - 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom self catering unit. Breakfast included.
Good - great kitchen, tasty breakfast and dinners (we ate 2 dinners at the hotel)
Spa - pool good, but tried to book treatments, and spa therapist never responded to calls.
Room - spacious. Indoors nice, cleanliness acceptable.
Outdoor - Large outdoor area, but this was quite filthy - did not seem to have been cleaned in past few weeks.
Parking - ample parking at hotel at no additional charges.

The property is in good condition and in a great area.

Lovely weekend stay with my mum. She really appreciated the break and it was a lovely place to stay. We didn’t make use of the pool in the end but we had a lovely stay.
The restaurant food was fantastic and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Brilliant location, we did two fabulous walks straight from the hotel. You have to be patient when crossing the busy A66.
The staff were lovely, especially Ali. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. And the restaurant food and service was great.
There was a sense that this hotel was a part of the local community.
We had a swim in the pool, which was a bonus. Yet this area and the outside hot tub area needed a bit of TLC.
Our room was a little double room, it was very clean and fresh, and had fabulous views. Overall good value for money, and i wish we could have stayed longer.

Lovely views, cosy rooms and great food! All the staff were great. Both the evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Dog treats in room, which was a lovley extra. Beds comfy enough but the room was incredibly hot even with the small fan that was in the room, on full. Couldnt open the window as the door rattled like mad. 'Spa' area definitely needs some TLC felt a little grubby. No Guest towels by the pool or robes in the room, which was a little disappointing. Probably could haave asked for extra if we had known.Pool times for guests are quite restricted. That being said its free to use for guest, which is probably one of the last hotels that does this in the lakes! I would stay again.

Lovely hotel with big spacious rooms, helpful staff and nice pool to chill out in. Will definitely go back.
4.6
The staff were lovely and helpful, the breakfast was a great start to the day.
Amazing views from hotel.
Good location to explore area.
The swimming pool area that isn't owned or managed by hotel operator was disappointing it wasn't very clean and very dated - feel sorry for Ali as this area has unfortunately resulted in poor reviews that don't reflect the overall experience of what Ali is achieving.

Lovely rooms with beautiful views of the mountains

Lovely apartment (separate lounge / kitchen, bedroom and bathroom) in traditional style. Friendly staff and nice location - although a little way from other pubs, etc. Nice swimming pool and good restaurant

Stayed for one night, staff were very friendly and helpful, room was very clean and food was very good.

We had a very large 2 bedroom suite that was amazing. All staff were really friendly and welcoming & food was great. Highly recommend!
4.6
Swimming pool only open for limited time for hotel guests. Hotel and room could do with an update.

Great little hotel in the lakes, nice rooms, good food and not too expensive.
Staff were very pleasant and attentive.
Had a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning.
Would definitely stay again.

This stay was amazing. A family break for my wife’s birthday. The location and accommodation is amazing and the all the staff and service was simply wonderful. A special shout out to Mags on reception, a very warm and friendly welcome. Thoroughly recommended. Also worth noting that you can take your dogs if you have want to! I don’t have any, just thought it was worth the mention. Absolutely amazing cooked breakfast, we will be returning. Thank you so much. Well done to all the staff. We loved it
