Our stay was fine. Breakfast was good. Front desk clerk was marvelous. On the downside, our room was absolutely freezing when we got there - probably in the upper 50s - and the thermostat was no help. We turned it to 80 and it was passable for awhile, but then got horribly cold again. We had to use the extra blanket intended for the sleeper sofa on our bed to stay warm. The other complaint - we are coffee drinkers. It never occurred to us to make sure the amenities included a coffeemaker in the room. We stay in a lot of hotels and have not stayed in any hotels in years that did not include a coffeemaker in the room. The room temp and the lack of a coffeemaker will keep us from coming back to this hotel.

The room was dirty!!! The floors were not fully swept or mopped. It seemed like all the things dropped on the floor by previous guests were swept into the closet. I saw a roach in the bathroom in the middle of the night. Considered to be one of my worst stays in all of the hotels I ever stayed at

When we arrived at our hotel we noticed that our room wasn’t very clean, but we went ahead and unpacked. Late that night when we got back we realized our sheets were not changed. They were very nasty. We went down and told the lady working the night shift and she had said “she can’t believe guests can leave rooms like that.” I asked for new sheets and we made our own beds. We realized in the morning our towels were dirty as well. The lady working the morning shift was very upset about it which I appreciated. The pool was nice and they had a decent breakfast.

One of the beds is only about 6 inches from the heating/ac unit. The thermostat is across the room. This resulted in the bed being extremely cold and frigid. There is plenty of space in the room to move the bed farther away from the unit. The placement of the bed so close to the unit made it very difficult to get into and out of the bed on that side.

The property was clean and in a convenient part of town to get to everything we needed. The black out roller shades and well insulated building blocked most noise from nearby highway. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was fine. The shower was a bit tricky but we figured it out. The pool area was inside but full of swarms of mosquitoes, which was an alarming surprise. It was overall pretty good but we wished we could swim while we were there after the Gathering Place.

I don’t usually rate harshly on maintance issues (things happen, damage goes unnoticed, it’s often cosmetic) but I do when it’s pointed out, the staff is told about it, and they fail to take corrective action. The blackout shade in our room was broken and would not go down. I called the front desk, she came up, looked at it. Said she couldn’t fix it as she “was the only one there” and said she wouldn’t move us despite having 3 other rooms at that price and configuration available. Tried to claim the u-store-it the window looked over would be dark. It was NOT. We ended up having to use a blanket to block the light. At the $89 a night price point, this would be fine, but they were too expensive to not resolve issues. Choose someplace else—they understaff and, despite the updated decor, aren’t properly moniotoring and maintaining the facility.

Staff was non existent when we arrived. We buzzed and called multiple times. Still no answer or staff member able to be seen. So we had to beat on glass door. Finally a staff member emerged. Their excuse for not being at the front is because they didn’t have anymore check ins for the night since check in was at 3pm. If they actually went and looked at the list of people checking in they would’ve seen I paid ahead and was coming from 5 hrs away. WILL NOT be staying again in the future.
