Love the convenience and proximity to the trail.

We stayed for 2 nights in an ensuite double. The bed was very comfortable but we had no hot water for 2 days and no one would come and check it. We had to shower in the communal showers and the floor mat in there was so mouldy and it stank. The wifi wouldn’t work in our room so we’d have to go and sit on the stairs in the hall to use it. The restaurant is fine and always busy. Food and service were average. The location to the start of the walks is excellent though and an easy walk along the Main Street to other restaurants and bars. The bar attached is excellent though and their happy hour prices were super cheap.

Great hostel and restaurant at a reasonable price!

Definitely seems like a restaurant that happens to have accommodation upstairs. Very noisy. But is probably the best available in El Chalten.

The property is conveniently located to the great hikes in the area. The staff was very helpful with recommendations for renting gear. And the restaurant had so many good options with super availability.
On the negative side, the room window covers were not very dark (there was a bright light outside my window) and the door did little to quiet those walking noisily by in the hallway. Positives outweighed the negatives, though.

Fabulous restaurant! Very friendly staff.

Great private twin share. Good toiletries provided. The included breakfast had great options incuding bacon amd eggs!

Convenient location close to trailheads and restaurants!

THERE IS A COMMUNAL KITCHEN, SHARED REFRIGERATOR. ROOM *1 WITH A VIEW OF THE RESTAURANT THAT IS OPEN 24 HOURS AND ALL THE TIME SOMEONE IS SITTING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR WINDOW.

The staff are very accommodating and friendly. Always clean and a two good cooking areas makes it great for budget travels. El Chalten is small so I wouldn’t be worried about location although it’s closer to the Fitzroy trail than most. Free storage whilst I was camping takes it over the top.

Restaurant staff was very rude

so close to the trails and restaurants, although everything in town is! but it was very convenient.

The hostei is extremely noisy at night. We were put in room 1 with a window beside the bar and the hallway entrance beside us was at the entrance to the dining area. The first night there was horrendous noise with inebriated people singing loudly all night, including in the hallway.
We requested to be moved and/or upgraded. We were refused.
The second night was noisy all night long, but the pitch was lower.
For a comfortable night's sleep DON'T GO HERE.

24hr restaurant offers cheap, large sized meals. Majority of staff are friendly, however, on more than one occassion found myself waiting a lot longer than I should have to order, without acknowledgement of staff. Check-in was very simply & quick. Hostel kitchen could be updated. Not a lot of the stoves worked & not many bowls. Seem to be trying to push people to order at the restaurant. Very close to all hikes & wifi seems to be best in town.

The first impression is a bit strange - the lobby is a 24h restaurant, the reception is in the restaurant. The sound insulation is good however and I had good sleep.
I stayed in a 4-bed dorm. The room was good, somewhat too small with all the backpacks. We are in the trekking country after all. Too few electricity plugs. There is a reading light for each person; would be nice to have also electricity for charging mobile devices.
The hostel showers were good; wc however crys for replacent.
The hostel is located some 16 min from the bus station. There are good restaurants nearby, and the Fitz Roy trek starts some 100m north of the hostel.

Tends to be very busy most of the time. Staff are great though their English (with a couple of exceptions) is almost as bad as our Spanish... Which i WILL learn next year! Hostel layout means alot of noise in the corridor... Basically, youre up with the last person in at night and awake again with the 1st personin the morning. Not too unusual in a hostel i know, but acoustics could be improved. Also, our bathroom door was half eaten away with damp. The food is so so, but the service is good. Wifi generally good too. We probably wouldnt stay again. It was cheap and not bad for the price but we'd stay smaller and more intimate... This place gets busloads of non residents in for lunch etc.. Not for us.

Great place to stay super clean and nice staff, really helpful with hiking based on weather conditions. There was some hot water plumbing noise problem heard well from our room. Otherwise a delight to stay.

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel, with everything you need (especially in winter when half of the town is closed). Warm, friendly and inviting, with a good flow of people coming and going for you to meet. Ari treated me like a long lost relative and gave me great tips for local activities. I would come back to this hostel any time.

This hostel is one of the best hostels in Argentina. Really good location. Close to the starts of all the trails. The staff are really helpful and friendly. The restaurant has the best food I've had at any hostel in the world.

Great value with a lot of convenience including having an on site restaurant, close proximity to Fitz Roy & trekking trails and a good price. The gentleman who checked us in was very nice and helpful and had so much useful information about the town and trekking. They also were very helpful when we wanted to upgrade to a private room. Would definitely stay here again.

Its a long walk from the bus station! And its a big busy hostel but the staff keep it reasonably clean. It got a little noisy and very hot inside but overall it was a good spot for a few days in El Chalten.

We booked the hostel, and were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to one of the other nicer properties next door, owned by the same company, at no extra cost. It was amazing and our stay couldn’t have been better!

Great hostel near the major trail heads. Very friendly staff with great knowledge of the trails. Super small town with everything walking distance.

I am not a huge fan of hostels as I am a bit of a hotel snob, but I must admit that the location and price can’t be beat. We were just steps away from the trailhead, with plenty of restaurants nearby. And the bus station was only a 15-minute walk. The kitchen is open 24/7, which is great if you want an early breakfast before a long hike (bonus: they also take credit cards). Plus, the dining area is a great place to hang out, have a beer, and meet other hikers. The staff was super friendly. We had a private room with 4 beds, and a shared bathroom. The rooms and bathrooms were nothing special but they weren’t the worst I’ve seen. If I’m being honest, I would still prefer to stay somewhere nicer (there were VERY few options left when we booked), but if you’re into hostels, then you’ll probably love the vibe of this place! However, be warned that the Wifi was terrible and spotty!!
