self check -in ok. Very bland apartment. Heater didnt work in bedroom. No furnishings in bedroom apart from bed. tiny bathroom with nowhere to put toiletries.Fine if you want soulless accommodation. Pub next door ok.

Nice friendly pub with excellent food. Clean and comfortable accommodation that is good value.

Basic accommodation, 2nd time at this location, different apartment, sits right on the road, so if traffic noise is a problem then this is for you, apartment have a kitchen, but no oven trays, floors require to be mopped as very dirty, despite looking clean, as you'll find out, on the whole it was acceptable

Very pleasant and comfortable overnight stay. We were attending a wedding nearby and it was an early start. Adjacent pub, The Plough served amazing food and very friendly service. Would definitely recommend.

I travel a lot for leisure and work and I'm afraid to say my stay at "The Retreat" on 17 July was the worst stay I've ever had.
The apartment was advertised as accommodation for 3 people, the 3rd being on a sofa bed - quite standard - but the sofa bed was too uncomfortable to sit on let alone sleep on and flipped if you attempted to lay on it. Our friend slept on the floor. Also the only toilet and h facilities were in the bedroom so friend had to come through our room as we slept to use the facilities.
The extractor fan and light for the loo came on if you went on the bottom half of the room of r the shower room so these came on whenever anyone went to their bags.
The apartment was also equipped with 2 mugs, 2 bowls and 2 towels. How is this an apartment for 3 people?
"The Retreat" is actually a grubby room above a pub, a pub that has its cellar fans directly under your room so you can hear them all night too.
I am not one to complain but this stay was like nothing before, advertised incorrectly and not of hotel.com standards

It was a lovely stay. Comfy bed. Lots of hot water. There was plenty of tea but no coffee. Shop local so bought some.

Lovely Lovely location with two great pubs nearby

Good size and the apartment is contemporary but for me not very comfortable. Sofa was hugely uncomfortable to sit on, bed not comfy -could feel the springs etc in bed, pillow and quilt poor quality, no shelves/unit to put anything in the shower room- so not very practical. No mugs in the kitchen and mis matched plates, glasses etc. i used a cereal bowl to drink coffee!! The apartment is spacious, bright and clean and looks really good but it just needs to upgrade the quality of the furniture, bedding and crockery

Location was great

Pleasantly surprised. Was really impressed with the comfort of the bed and sofa, and the overall presentation of the place. When I did take my socks off however, the floorboards in the bedroom and living room were sticky and felt as though they hadn’t been cleaned for a while. That is however my only negative. Would recommend to stay.

We must have stayed on one of the hottest weekend of the year, luckily the room had a fan, which helped move the air around a bit, the rooms are facing a very busy road, with traffic running 24/7, which can be a bit noisy, even with the windows closed.
The cleaness of the room I would give an 8 put 10, mold around the window and the laminated flooring which looked clean, left the soles of our feet black as we soon discovered, apart from that the room was comfortable and served our needs.
It's an ideal location for ourselves to visit the newly located LRO show at Belvoir Castle along with the Castle and surrounding area, the hotel located approximately 18 miles from the hotel

Room (#1) size was large with bedroom, en-suite and separate lounge-kitchen area. Overall condition of rooms was good. TV in lounge had failed a test and had notice not to use, lounge has large windows and blinds did not work which limited privacy. Bed was reasonably comfortable and double glazed windows limited road noise (low volume of traffic). Shower worked well, no hot water for a shave, so boiled a kettle. Pub below is nice, had a good lunch.

It was freshly painted and could of been nice wuth a bit of tjought, the bedding was very old, not matching as it was twin beds, the towels were very old and mis matched, the cushions were scruffy and the duvets awful....the shower room and toilet was excellent and potentially this could be good with a bit more thought in the furnishings and maybe put the heating on before a guest arrive to make it more cosy, none of these things would cost a lot , but would make it look lovely...bedding and duvets etc are very reasonable in all supermarkets.

The apartment was very dirty! Floors not cleaned, filthy shower and bed sheets were as if someone else had slept in. The springs on mattress protrude and stick in your back! Radiator hanging off bathroom wall.that said if this flat was tidied up and cleaned would be fine and it’s in a lovely area.It was warm and had a cute kitchen. Unfortunately I won’t be staying again.

Stayed a few times now and would stay again. Very convenient for my work. Free on site parking is great and well lit. Rooms have everything needed for a few nights away. Close to local amenities.

I stayed in room 4, it was clean, comfortable with free o site parking, great communication for codes to get in to the complex and your apartment. I would highly recommend. Only thing missing in the room was a corkscrew and a spatular for the frying pan.

Stayed a few times. Always perfect

The room was basic, very noisy with the pub below and traffic noise through the night. No provision for breakfast since the pub is separate to the rooms.
It cannot be described as a hotel, the room was very basic and over priced.
The photos are not representative of the property. Bedding smelt heavily of detergent. Shower was very low pressure with no soap.
Very disappointing. I did not sleep for two nights due to the noise. Oh and at 4 am they emptied the bins outside.

Nice clean comfortable room, no problems at all. Spent the evening in the pub, very friendly and really enjoyed the food, a little bit special, more than your average pub grub. Highly recommend

The room was good, had a small kitchen & microwave so great for a stay of more than one night of you wanted to warm something up.Only thing we weren't so keen on was the shower which had the usual electric problems of very low flow & sporadic temperature.Bed was vey comfortable.Pub food at The Plough was fantastic, reasonably priced & friendly

The on itself was really good. Everything you could need and very comfortable. Excellent bathroom and shower.Unfortunately my sleep was not what I’d hoped for, some extremely noisy pipe work in the building meant I was woken every hour and had a terrible nights sleep. Everything else was great, I cannot fault it.

Really nice apartments over a pub. Stairs to access the apartments. Codes instead of keys which was very useful for a contactless and smooth arrival.

Room 4 was a great little apartment. Decent space for a travel cot in the main bedroom or in the lounge if required.
Kitchen was very useful.
Only drawback was the sofabed, this was not the comfiest but useable.

Room was excellent, very clean and well presented. Unfortunately the Pub did not have a Chef and no food was available during our stay. The weeds need pulling from the path at front of Pub and the beer-garden needs tidying up. Was still a great place to stay.

The property was very clean and we were very happy with it. I can definitely recommend The Plough retreat as a place to stay while visiting Lincoln, Newark, Southwell etc.

Very cozy room, updated appliances, and very modern feel. The check-in process was effortless, Daniel was extremely helpful and welcoming throughout the whole process. Mostly enjoyed how quiet the location was. All in all, great experience, would definitely recommend to anyone.
