2nd time staying here lovely period properly with lovely sitting areas with burning fire

Lovely room, super helpful staff, easy parking, great home-made food in the restaurant for dinner.
Not so good - Bathroom with zero character (so different to the bedroom), breakfast was bland and average at best. Nothing of any interest within walking distance.
Overall a solid 8/10 and worth a stay.

Great location off A1 for a stopover. Excellent staff, very welcoming. Comfortable room but walls very thin, could hear everything from next door. Lovely evening meal and breakfast. Good value.

Very nice for a one night stay. The hotel could do with more staff as had to wait ages to check in and ended up going to the bar to see if anyone was there. Also very slow at breakfast but again this was because there were only two members of staff and they were run off their feet. The room interior was excellent though with plenty of space.

A little gem in the heart of Stilton. Excellent room and wonderful food and the nods to Stilton making in the bistro are wonderful.

What can l say other than what a fantastic stay we had at this beautiful old hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Emma, who was wonderful and so supportive to my wife with her mobility issues. Everyone went out of there way to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The room was first class, the evening meal was exceptional, and the breakfast was superb. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and recommend it. Thank you so much for a very memorable stay

It was most welcoming, a good check-in. The room was lovely and comfortable, with a message left from 'housekeeping' a nice touch. Coffee and tea facilities very good.

We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who was very helpful. The twin room was small with not enough room to put our suitcases on the stand. The bathroom had everything we needed but again, on a small scale. We had booked dinner but were told on arrival that there would be a limited menu because the kitchen was being refurbished. I had just two courses and my wife, who loves a good dessert, had only a main course which was disappointing. Neither of us slept well and were woken by the alarm going off in the adjoining room at 7.30am. This room had a door into our room which increased the volume due to poor sound proofing..This continued until 8.09 when it was finally turned off. I did try to find someone to help but there was nobody at reception and I had to resort to speaking to a waitress in the restaurant and even then it was another 20+ minutes before it was switched off. Breakfast was good overall but the orange juice left a lot to be desired. Generally the staff were very good, the building was charming and for guests who like historic buildings a real treat. Unfortunately our experience at The Bell Inn Hotel means we would not return or recommend it.

No dining options as restaurant wasn’t open, took ages to get someone to check me in and then advised Peterborough services on the A1 for a meal at KFC or McDonalds. Breakfast was good as was the service

A fabulous little hotel and restaurant. I travel a lot due to work and I can safely say this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Undervalued!

it’s a lovely hotel - very convenient for A1/A14.
Room was gorgeous - really comfortable and very high std.
Food and breakfast was to a high std.
Brekkie is freshly cooked - not the usual buffet style - which is really fantastic!
Love the added touch of coffee bags in the room - I can stand messing with coffee pod/machines that I don’t understand how to work them and you get a minuscule serving anyway - a kettle and good quality coffee bag is perfect for me! 😅
I have stayed before and will stay again.
The pics are the courtyard and the INCREDIBLE Apple and Raspberry Crumble! X

This hotel is really lovely . Housekeeping do a great job . . Very clean and tidy . Our room was lovely and extra heating was put on for our arrival . Lots of lovely extras in the room , chocolate , different types of coffee and teas etc.
My review would have been 5* apart from a couple of small issues . It was a Longer than usual check in as no one on reception and no note telling you to go to bar which did appeared next day .
Breakfast room same issue no one around for about 10 minutes . We Would have liked fresh fruit available or while fruits without having to ask .
Apart from this a lovely lovely quiet stay and a really nice public bar too .
Centre of old village . Very near A 1 , no noise at all . A great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed .

Nice style property, older period building but nicely remodelled in bathrooms which is good. The area I didn’t explore as I was there for one night. The hotel is lovely and staff very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay again. Restaurant very nice also.

As other reviews found staff at the bell very friendly, helpfully, polite and efficient. They seem well motivated.
Ate in the bar on a Sunday evening, food was excellent as was breakfast following morning.
Rooms are a bit on the snug side but very clean comfortable and well equipped.
Over all very happy with stay and value for money, will look to stay with Coaching inns again on our travels.

Lovely small hotel with outstanding service and happy friendly staff who clearly enjoy their jobs and work well together. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms are traditional but very comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Wide choice of gins very welcome by me! Dinner was of a good standard.
