Exceptional. Japanese style breakfast.
Nothing to dislike but I had difficulty sitting on the floor due to my age. Miss Handa went the extra mile and brought me a chair. Bravo Miss Handa.

Location is nice. You can catch a bus to the ryokan from the train station or you can grab a taxi which costs about 600 yen. The staff, food, room and overall facility were all fantastic. You can also book a private outdoor onsen which costs 2000 yen but is well worth it. The only thing I thought was a shame was the short 45 minutes they give you for the session. The staff doesn't have the best English but they have English manuals and the front of house staff seemed like they are well experienced with hosting foreign guests. They also assisted me with transport when I was checking out and they were extremely accommodating to provide help.
One of the door to the outside balcony was broken and didn't slide properly. Wasn't a huge problem as you can just use the other door.

staff was very nice
Our room STUNK like mold. We had to keep the windows open and blast the heat. This still didn't mask the smell. Everything was old and in disrepair. The beds were so hard to sleep on, we piled up extra mats and still could not sleep. The food was not good.

We were amazed at the size of the room and our view from the balcony. The food was so, so special and the staff did well to try and accommodate our dietary requirements and explain all the aspects of the meals to us. The staff don’t speak a lot of English but were exceptionally friendly and helpful so this wasn’t an issue. They even held our bags for us after check-in despite being closed that day. The outdoor bath was also so lovely and relaxing. What a treat. Highly recommend and would stay here again

Breakfast great and comfort excellent.
