Great stay “on top of the sea”. House was well equipped, made you feel right at home! Great location, beautiful views, lots of places not far from the house, on the shore, to sit, read, relax and explore.

Our family had a wonderful stay at this house in Harpswell. The location is phenomenal, with a gorgeous view of the water. As often as we could, we had breakfast on the deck, where we watched herons, bald eagles, and ducks on the water. The house was also very well-appointed for our stay, and well taken care of. Recommended very highly!

Our group of 5 stayed at this super cute, quaint home on the water. It was clean and ready for us when we got there. We enjoyed many evenings on the patio overlooking the water playing card games and enjoying our time as we had a reunion of friends from over 20 years ago. Beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room. Would definitely stay there again.

This place worked well for us. We spent 3 weeks in the fall here. We found the location to be really convenient -- on the water and close to Brunswick. The view of the water was excellent. The owner was great at responding to our questions. We brought some kayaks and could paddle from right in front of the house (using the stairs down to the water). Good wifi coverage that we needed to stay in touch with work. Convenient to a couple of nearby restaurants, trails, and a nice little wine shop.

Enjoyed the quiet and solitude of the waterside location. Renters should be aware that the living room can only accommodate four people comfortably. Since we were a group of five one of us had to sit in the dining area which had no view of the TV. In addition the bathrooms are dated and could benefit from an upgrade.

This property met my family’s needs on so many levels! It was charming, cozy and comfortable! We had a rainy week, but it didn’t dampen our vacation! Just light the fire and enjoy!

1st off Will is friendly, easy going & very quick to respond to questions. House is well maintained, well stocked & clean. We enjoyed our stay very much!
We do have a couple of recommendations - 1) a better address sign down by the road. We arrived in the evening & the dark sign that is presently there was difficult to see. 2) hand towel rings on either side of the main floor bathroom sink would be helpful. 3) in the main bathroom again, the bar holding the shower curtain was put up incorrectly. The curve is placed downward which causes the curtains to continuously slide open causing water spray onto the floor. That type of shower curtain rod is supposed to be place with the curve going horizontally into the room so as the curtain is level & remains closed.

Convenient location in Harpswell located down a quaint lane away from the road.
The house--cozy without feeling cramped--was spotless upon arrival. It served our family of eight adults perfectly. The nice decks--one on first floor and another on the second floor--offered plenty of views of the water and wildlife. There's nothing like waking to the sounds of shore birds on a June morning.
Will is a wonderful proprietor and host.
We are certainly looking forward to staying again.

Incredible time at this hideaway place. Beautiful views and privacy on the water are an integral part of this house. Many walks of all abilities close by with incredible views. Owners are very nice and supportive of your needs, such as putting out deck furniture even though it was cold weather. We enjoyed sitting in the sun and watching the wildlife and tides.

We thoroughly enjoyed Will’s well stocked and comfortable home. We cooked breakfast every day and had evening cocktails and dinner in a open concept dining/living room area. One sunny morning we enjoyed breakfast on the deck overlooking the bay. The beds were exceptionally cozy! Our host kept us informed almost daily about our needing anything more , but we didn’t because there was a sufficient number of glasses and plates and pots and pans. We recommend this property highly.

We had the best time at On Top of the Sea in North Harpswell!
The cottage was well appointed and extremely comfortable for our weeklong stay. Our host, Will, was extremely helpful and quick to respond to our questions. This is the perfect location for exploring all that Harpswell and Brunswick have to offer. We can't wait to come back again!

Perfect Maine getaway! The house had everything we needed and more. The views from both decks can’t be beat. The yard/field has a beautiful tree lined driveway. Very safe for our dogs and very private. The interior has a cozy fireplace and well equipped kitchen. Will was very helpful and welcoming. We’d love to return next year!

Even better than advertised. The location and cottage were perfect for our family of five. Wonderful views from each deck and each room. Refreshing sea breeze through the cottage. Plenty of “personal space” for each of us - inside and outside.

The pictures don't do this charming, roomy property with incredible views justice!. My husband and I traveled with our adult son and daughter and my daughters fiancé. We had more than enough comfortable room for all of us. There was not a single thing that we needed. Highly recommend and great for our dog too!

We had a wonderful stay at this house. It couldn’t have been any better. Will was extremely responsive. The accommodations are as advertised, and the setting on the water is spectacular. The house is convenient to many places of interest, but it is also very private. The breeze off the water made the temperature cool and very comfortable. I spite of unusually warm temperatures for Maine in July, we slept with a blanket every night. We will definitely return!

Very comfortable, clean home directly on the waterfront. The 4th bedroom above the garage made it possible for our extended family to stay together. Will was the best host - extremely easy to communicate with and accommodating.

Wonderful house with every amenity we could ask for, plus 2 great decks, perfect for our morning coffee and basking in the sun. Will was so kind and accommodating, providing all the information needed for our stay. We'll be back!

We enjoyed our stay in Harpswell. The rental location is conveniently located in you are flying into Portland (as we did) and for day trips to Freeport, Acadia National Park and Boothbay. We enjoyed coffee on the deck in the morning and watched the lobstermen do their thing. The sounds of the loons and seagulls was relaxing. There is no A/C, but we managed to keep the place cool by opening the windows upstairs and down. It was a little warm when we visited in July. The dinette offered wonderful views of the lake when we ate at the house. Recommend for couples or families.

The house was great. It worked well for a group of seven. The plus is the room above the boat house, great for privacy for remote work. Host was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Would definitely return again.

This house and property was exactly right for our family (including two adult dogs). Right on the water for hypnotizing views over coffee or drinks, access to swim or kayak, large, quiet grounds for the dogs to enjoy. We also loved the close access to Brunswick and a million hiking trails. We'll be back next year.
