Welcome to "The Good Life!" THIS IS A VACATION DREAM! Conveniently located, spacious lakefront home with level lot, mature trees and small private beach in popular Pea Hill Creek on the Northeast quadrant of Lake Gaston. This 2-level, pet friendly home is designed with families in mind and is the perfect location for annual family reunions or vacations! Come visit "The Good Life" and see what lakefront vacations are all about!
THE OUTSIDE DETAILS:
Let’s face it. You don’t come to Lake Gaston for the house… you come for the setting and all that the lake has to offer! Whether you want to relax or play, this property has everything you need! For those of you who want to relax, come enjoy the beautiful view of the lake from the Adirondack chairs on the dock, sway in the hammock under the trees, or swing in one of the double swings on the small, private beach.
The swimming area is protected from the hustle and bustle of the main lake and is the perfect place for swimming and boating. The water is shallow near the edge of the property for younger children to stand in and swim. The water level is 3-4 ft near the dock and gets deeper as you head toward the main lake. We have two paddle boards, six kayaks (five singles and one double) and a pedal boat for our guests to enjoy. We have multiple “old school” orange life jackets, but please bring your own if possible. There are lots of areas to safely explore by kayak or paddle board, including a little island called "Halley Rock." If you decide to rent a boat (or bring your own), we have a boat dock that you can dock up to. And for all of you who love to fish - Pea Hill Creek (and Lake Gaston in general) offers some of the best fishing in the state!
The yard is certainly worth mentioning as it truly feels like a special place. The large, mature trees provide ample shade and respite from the sun. We have an outdoor shower, picnic table, corn hole, a horseshoe pit, a fire pit and a big field for yard games! Feel free to bring your own games! We also have a large, gas grill outside for grilling.
This is truly one of the best coves on the lake! The main lake is just a few minutes away by boat. The Pea Hill Creek boat ramp is less than 2 miles away, as is the Lake Gaston Golf Course! One of the best things about Lake Gaston is that it’s in a beautiful, quiet, charming, rural area. There are no big box stores here! Our home is conveniently located with access to local restaurants, the Food Lion, an ice cream shop, mini golf, multiple marinas, boat rentals, bait shops, gas stations and more.

Just finished the most wonderful family vacation at The Good Life! Our hosts were so receptive to any questions we had, and answered immediately. The property is lovely! A flat close walk to the lake, which we all appreciated, and was especially nice because we had a 3 month old baby. Situated in a quiet cove, where swimming and kayaking were so enjoyed. The house has all the kayaks you would need and the dock has a space for you to rent a boat which we did. The house itself was perfect for all of us. Very well equipped and the downstairs pool table and foos ball table were great for evening activities. Many decks for lounging and reading. None of us ever felt we all did not have our own space. We highly recommend this property for your vacation on Lake Gaston. You will not be disappointed! Looking forward to visiting again.
Thanks,
Jeff and Sarah

The house is in a great location, the hosts were extremely responsive, and there were plenty of things at the house to keep our group of 9 teenagers and 2 adults happy and enjoying the lake experience! The host sent a charming and helpful welcome email 3 days prior to our arrival. We were a bit surprised to read that we needed to bring our own bath towels and make the beds when we arrived. Otherwise, the fire pit, dock, kayaks and paddle boards, and well-stocked kitchen were all very nice and appreciated.

My husband was able to spend quality time with his adult sons and their spouses to celebrate Father's Day, reminisce about growing up, and make new memories. We all kayaked, grilled, and sat on the dock to watch the stars come out. Couldn't have been better.

The weekend at the lake was thoroughly enjoyed house and property were very clean. Neighbors were friendly. Has a little bit of everything to play in the lake. Would recommend to others.

About our 4th stay at Lake Gaston. Accomodations were more than adequate. Clean and well stocked. Great deck for sitting and enjoying the view. A good walk to the dock. We had an enjoyable time. Even caught some fish. What else could you ask for?

Whole family had a great time at the house! Plenty to do, even if the weather is bad. So well equipped - there wasn’t a thing we needed. Even the spice rack was full. Such a lovely house. Would definitely come again.

We had a wonderful family Thanksgiving at this beautiful, well decorated lake house. Very well equipped, the house had everything we needed for a complete traditional Thanksgiving dinner, and a well stocked kitchen. A bonus was the dining table that would easily seat ten.
Multiple decks over looked a beautiful back yard and the scenic lake.
Plenty to do and plenty of space for group fun or just relaxing. A pool table, foosball, corn hole, horseshoes, six kayaks, two paddle boards, a paddle boat and more. We did kayak, but being November, we did not go in the water.
While we are past that stage, there was plenty of stuff for families with younger children - high chair, child gates, games and toys.
The hosts provided information about the area and the house before we arrived, and checked in with us during our stay.
All in all, we had a very nice, relaxing and restorative four days. We will have to come back again in the summer….

This was the PERFECT spot for a fun weekend with friends! The home was spotless, organized and welcoming and the location was just beautiful. Holly was so friendly and accommodating. The whole process was easy breezy and we really had a wonderful time. We cooked together, went on a nice walk, took out the pedal boat, made s’mores in the evening and enjoyed coffee on the porch. It was a fun trip for us moms, but next time we’ll bring the husbands and kiddos! 5 stars all around! 🙏

If you are looking for the perfect place to stay and get away from it all.. this is the place! The pictures and discussion of the house are spot on. We enjoyed the piece and quite around us during this time of year on the lake, driving around the different areas nearby. The people are very friendly and knowledgeable about the lake and towns around it. Thank you for sharing your home with us! We hope to stay with you again sometime!

This is a wonderful place to stay for a large family. The weather was bad for almost our entire trip but the house is so spacious that we never felt cooped up or right on top of each other. The house was very clean and well stocked. Chad and Holly are fantastic hosts and have created a very cozy home that they share. Very much enjoyed our stay!

Everything was fantastic. House and property were just as advertised. Been to Gaston many times but first time at Pea Hill Creek area and is our favorite spot so far! Deap, calm water just a few yards from the dock and no tiny bridges to navigate! Sheets were so soft. 2nd "drink fridge" was great! Downstairs game room was a big hit with the teenagers. Only suggestion is to clean up some cob webs outside but inside was very clean. Host was amazing to work with regarding checkin/out! Would absolutely come back!

Our entire family had the best time at Holly and Chad's home! It was very clean, they provided everything we could possibly need or want! The kayaks, paddle boards, and pedal boats were a huge hit and got used every day. The kids were able to fish right off the dock while the littles played on the beach. It was our favorite vacation house. Holly and Chad were so helpful and responsive, you will not find a better host. I would highly recommend this house and we would definitely stay here again!.

We had a lovely family vacation and are already looking at dates to book next summer! The property is wonderful with lots to do. We got plenty of use out of the kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boat. We enjoyed lots of fishing from the dock and from the kayaks. Our 2 year old loved the private beach and being able to get in easily to the lake. We love that the place was dog friendly as we brought along 2 labs who did lots of swimming. The kitchen was well stocked which made cooking easy. The owner, Holly was very helpful with lots of info before arriving and quickly responded if we had any questions! I would highly recommend!

The property is great and the hosts were the best VRBO hosts we have ever had. They communicated to us and they got back to us promptly if we had a question. They provided very specific instructions and the use of the kayaks, etc. was great. They also have a pool table and a foosball table which is very fun and many outdoor spaces to hang out.

This was a great house for our multigenerational Christmas. Despite cold temperatures and an internet outage there was enough to do and enjoy to keep all (Age 14-84) happy.
The kitchen was extremely well equipped for meals for a large group and dining room seating for 10! The owner was available ro help with any issues. We all had a great time.
The only drawback for us was lack of towels, and that only because we were flying in. Except for that this is a great house in a beautiful place. I would book it again in a minute.

We had a wonderful week and a great Thanksgiving at the Good Life home. The house was beautiful and had everything and more for fun, food and a great family getaway. The hosts were very helpful and attentive even checking in to make sure we if we had any questions. Our family had fun kayaking and paddle boarding and especially fishing. The house had so much that it made preparing a Thanksgiving meal for 10 so easy.
The hosts have truly thought of everything when it comes to setting up a home that feels like your own when you are away. We could not have been more pleased with our stay and look forward to coming back soon.

Our family had a fantastic time, and the accommodations were wonderful! We spent the majority of the days outside and rented a pontoon boat for an afternoon. Fishing was awesome and weather perfect. Holly was wonderful to communicate with and very responsive to any questions. Highly recommend!

This was our second year staying at "The Good Life". It fits our family (2 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and 4 grandchildren) very well. We love the level lot and shady areas. Pretty area. Nice dock for your boat and we enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boat. We also love feeding the fish by the dock. Our 7 year old granddaughter caught her first fish off the dock (with grandpa's help).

Communication with Holly is excellent, she is extremely responsive. We had a very smooth process and found the house by car and by boat very easily. Just out of the cove is a great area for waterskiing and tubing, we had a great time.

I hesitate to rave about this property because I want to keep it all to myself - but it truly is the best lake property we have rented. So clean, comfortable and well equipped! We spent 3 days and nights celebrating my mom’s 85th birthday - we loved the floats for the cove, the kayaks and the paddle boards. Even my mom got up on a paddle board! We had coffee by the firepit each morning and spent many hours sitting together on the covered porch with a great view of the cove. We had brought our boat so were able to explore Lake Gaston - wow, so beautiful! Holly made a great lunch spot recommendation on the water (The Pointe) and also made some suggestions for fun islands to explore. When we had to stop the fun to eat, we enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and the large table for 10 - plenty of room for all and a great table for late night card games! I can’t say enough good things about the house and can’t thank Holly enough for the great communication and thorough instructions/suggestions. Every detail about this rental is 5 star! We have decided to make an annual tradition of it and look forward to working with Holly again!

We had a wonderful time and everything was just as described. The sandy area was perfect for the kids to play and be able to enter into the water safely. The kayaks, paddle boards and peddle boat were wonder to have and our group enjoyed using them. Overall this was a wonderful place to stay and we enjoyed our time!

Ample room. Lots to do. WYer was great. Holly gave us lots of info

The property was perfect for our vacation for three generations. There were enough different spaces to allow for private times or family gathering times. The kitchen was well stocked and there were enough activities to keep everyone occupied (on the water boating or floating, lounging on the beach or 2 beautiful decks, playing pool, foosball, board games or eating smores by the fire). We rented a pontoon boat for tubing and lake cruises and swimming at the island sandbars- a huge hit with the kids. Chad and Holly were great hosts! The few times we needed to contact them they responded immediately. Everyone agreed that this vacation was the best!

This house was perfect for our family vacation. Our 1.5 year old enjoyed the flat lot and playing in the shallow lake water. We rented a boat for 3 days and tied it up to the dock overnight which was very convenient. All the included paddle boards and kayaks were a great bonus! We had a great time and would definitely rent this house again.

This place feels like home. It was very well stocked and not stripped down like most rentals. We loved all the watercraft toys that were provided! The yard was nice and large. The sandy area was more just dirt and not beachy and there is quite a bit of grass growth in the water where the main stairs come in, but still tons of water to swim in. Owners were very friendly and communicative. Lake was beautiful and we had a wonderful visit! We had a wonderful week.

Beautiful home that sits in a private cove with its own private dock. It easily accommodated a family of 10 with pets. Owners were very polite and helpful with us being unfamiliar with the area. Didn’t have a lot of luck fishing from the dock, but we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves out on the lake. We had our own boat, but would highly recommend renting one if you dont have one. Dinner out on the lake was a hit with Latitude’s , which was just around corner. The Point at Lake Gaston was a total let down and we ended up leaving without being served, but that has no reflection on the owners of this property and they were even very apologetic for our bad experience. We booked the house for 2023 the day we checked out.

First of all, I would like to thank Holly and Chad for sharing their lake house with our family. They are wonderful hosts. Anytime I had a question, Holly responded in a timely manner. She was so helpful in sending me information regarding our trip and things to see and do when we got there. This was our first time staying in this area so any information was valuable. The house was spacious for the 12 of us and offered plenty of room to move around, entertain, and have a great time. We loved all the seating areas and used them all. Plenty of games and the pool table was a big hit. We cooked all of our meals at the house so we really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. I love to cook and most kitchens lack pots, pans, utensils and such, but not this one. Everything you need to serve up a great meal was there. The outside area is wonderful. They offer kayaks, paddleboards, peddle boats and some floating devices were there. It all got used. We were lucky and had great weather, mostly in the 90's so the lake water felt so good. It averaged 80-85 degrees the whole time. The kids could jump right in the water. It is not real deep by the dock so that was nice for the grandchildren (ages 9-13). It is sandy below your feet and as for adults you can walk out quite far before it gets too deep. The walk to the lake is nice and flat and offers seating along the way and even had a hammock to lay in. There is a fire pit we used to do smores and the gas grill was clean and ready to use. We caught so many fish by the dock and out in the lake. They caught some very large catfish also. Our son-in-law brought his boat and we tied that up at the boat house. We chose this lake house so we could get all of our children and grandchildren together from 3 different states ( about 3-4 hour drive for each of us so it was a perfect place for all of us to meet ) and create new memories. The "Good Life" certainly helped us do just that. We all had an absolute blast and hope to return again. Thank you again Holly and Chad for being such great hosts. We will return!!!!!!

This house was the ideal place for small children to retirees. It had everything that you would need. The kitchen was fully stocked and ready to cook anything. There was a very nice pool table and foosball as well as games and books. There were large TVs in every room. The 2 porches had ample seating with coolers and tables and a view of the lake. The lake was the biggest hit. There were kayaks, a paddle board and a peddle boat. The water off the deck was shallow and the kids had a wonderful time jumping off the deck.
The area is fairly rural, but there is a Food Lion and Dollar Store not too far away.
The only complaint we had were the hard mattresses.
Holly, the owner, was great and checked in on us to see if there was anything we needed.
My family would definitely recommend this house and is thinking about returning in the future.
