About this house rental

This cozy cottage is just minutes from downtown Durango as well as two miles from Lake Nighthorse which is a lovely large recreational lake. The well appointed layout of this newly remodel space has a large downstairs bedroom, a gabled upstairs area that can accommodate an extra guest or can be used as an office. The kitchen opens up into a spacious dining area as well as a living room with a large screen TV and a sleeper sofa. If you are looking to sit outside and enjoy the sunset dipping behind the mountains you have a sun room to enjoy, if it is chilly out, or your own private side patio. Enjoy all Durango has to offer with hiking, paddle boarding, mountain biking and whitewater all within 10 minutes of this great setting.
This is a classic mother-in-law space that shares a wall with the main house.

Kristin and Sean’s place is peaceful, clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. We felt welcomed and loved returning there after our day trips. It’s a perfect location: quiet but only 10 minutes drive to downtown Durango.

Comfortable and pretty little cottage/mother in law house with views of the forest. Quiet neighborhood and house had everything my family needed to enjoy a few days away in Durango CO. A short drive to the Durango but tucked away in a quiet, wooded neighborhood. We enjoyed sitting in the sunroom and watching the deer graze.

We were Texans escaping the heat and this places was absolutely perfect. Set outside of town on a beautiful piece of property it was absolutely serene. This place was exquisite. It was absolutely spotless and extremely eco-friendly which we absolutely loved. The hosts were extremely accommodating for some of our requests and for that we greatly appreciated it.. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the city of Durango!!!

This place is perfect! It attaches to the house next to the garage so there is no noise from the house and we had privacy. Kristin has taken care of every detail. Everything was clean with great organic products to use. This is only about 10 minutes from town, but feels quiet, remote, and secluded. I would highly recommend this lovely little cottage!

We loved this very nice spotless apartment. Lots of room for the two of us to relax, cook some meals and enjoy a little Colorado mountain solitude while we attended our sons wedding in the Durango area.

Lake Nighthorse Cottage was literally a dream, slept well on very comfy mattress. Perfect property for a couple, situated to explore Mesa Verde (pre-reservations required for ALL ranger-guided cliff dwelling tours). If you plan on cooking in the well-appointed kitchen, grocery stores (including natural/health food market options) are within a 15 minute drive in Durango. Kristin was an exemplary host! The fingerling fries at James Ranch Grill are a must try. Check out the poignant Tour of Carvings in nearby Vallecito Lake commemorating the devastating 2002 forest fire.

This was an affordable, clean and cozy place to stay. Kristin was so nice and accommodating. We accidentally locked ourselves out and she was very understanding and quickly responded. The location was beautiful and peaceful. We would high recommend for anyone to stay here.

We were so happy to have found this beautiful place! We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The place is just as listed, spacious with sunroom and outside deck where the stars can be enjoyed. Super quiet. Kitchen was beautiful and fully stocked, so breakfast and dinner cooking was a breeze. The host put a lot of effort into making sure the place is beautifully decorated and equipped. Highly recommend staying here for a peaceful time.

My husband and I spent 2 nights here and wished we could have stayed a week. Very clean, inviting, cozy, and peaceful. The host went above and beyond with personal touches throughout. Plus, when she found out we would not be arriving til after dark she turned on lights for us so we could easily find our way. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone.

Property is sparkling clean and very cozy. I was on a long road trip with my nephew, and it was an absolute treat to come back to this lovely apartment to relax each night. The owners are very friendly, and the setting is gorgeous. Can't go wrong here!

This is a very cute place in a quiet location! Close to Nighthorse Lake and downtown. We loved that we could relax on the deck under the stars after exploring each day. Bed was comfortable and it had all the amenities of home.
