Walls and doors are extremely thin. We heard full conversations from our neighbors, sexual activity, as well snoring. Double queen room was large for New York- but quality of acoustics was so awful.

Very good. Check in with Maria was excellent as usual. Bed was comfortable. Easy to regulate room temperature. Quiet too.

Immaculately clean room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed and chairs. The staff could not be nicer! Love this hotel!

The management is horrible. However, the place itself was clean & the room was fine. I had requested (and confirmed) that we needed a refrigerator in the room. I had requested twice previous to the stay and on the final call confirmed. We arrived late at night. No refrigerator. My spouse's key malfunctioned and they would not allow him in. They refused to handle it by phone, requiring a trip down. They then asked for my ID, which was of course up in the room. They settled for me providing my contact information (all of which could have been done by phone). I found the front desk to be dishonest and unhelpful at every turn.

We are careful to look at hotel descriptions for what to expect. What was lacking - a window that reflected any greenery outside as suggested by the hotel pictures, advertised "workspace," drawers for clothing, any chair at all. The "closet" railing was so high as to be almost unuseable for an average height human. Plastic cups. As a result, we didn't enjoy this property - the living choice was always be out and about or somehow perched in the bed. Nice linens and nice people, but I wouldn't conside this property more than 2.5 stars.

The only downside was lack of coffee maker/refrigerator in the room. Prepare yourself for that, and everything will be perfect. Desk staff was incredibly friendly, check-in went very smoothly. We were lucky enough to have a room with an actual "view" instead of a view of the next building -- all to common in NYC. I would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay very much! All the staff - from the check-in slerks to the service personnel - were friendly and professional. We walked much of the time in the Upper West Side/Central Park area and this was the ideal location.

Coming from Washington DC for one night to enjoy a concert was a great experience. Staying at Belleclaire made it simple, pleasent, and confortable because of its location, safety, and the beatiful experiences lived. Super recommended.

Amazing stay, again !!

Lovely neighborhood blocks away from Central Park. We used the vouchers every morning for coffee and delicious pastries at the cafe next door. Beds are really comfortable, rooms are quiet. We’d definitely stay here again.

Beautiful historic Hotel in an excellent location … we loved the included breakfast vouchers for the French Bakery (so delicious) … we loved our view of the Hudson River … very clean & comfortable rooms … helpful & friendly staff. The included Streetwise Walking Tours were an excellent bonus … loved the tours we went on … great guides!

We had a very relaxing stay. Loved having the coupons for coffee/pastry every am at Mille. Also the wine evening. Thank you for that!
My only complaint was that the mattress was too soft for my back, but didn’t bother my husband. Thanks again for your nice hospitality.

Pros:
-Exceptionally clean and comfortable stay! Beautiful hallways, floors etc.
-Take whole hotel has a delicious, subtle lemonly fragrance; and, great airflow.
-The dooormen were exceptionally courteous, attentive and helpful!
-CVS right across the street if you need something.
-It has a bakery that's separate from the hotel restaurant that's good but gets packed quickly. It's open most of the day, with outside seating available before 5PM.
-Hotel restaurant was closed for my stay (Monday) but there are plenty of restaurants; whole neighborhood is full of eateries.
Cons:
-You can hear absolutely everything outside your room. No one was being loud nor wildly, thankfully, but it's like they are right in the room with you.
-I called the front desk several times for several minutes around 5PM. No one picked up.
-Couldnt figure out the thermostat for the room; couldn't get it going at all.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would definitely go again!

Comfortable, nicely appointed room that’s super tiny - very little space to stash luggage and anything else, unless you use the built in closet. Excellent location a few minutes from an express subway. Old building so can hear all hallway noise as if it’s happening next to you.

I am staying with the Hotel Belleclaire for over a decade now. It is the best place to stay at the UWS. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the location is great and most of all the staff is really professional, attentive and kind. Maria was really great and helped me solve some issues that came up. The price is fair and worth every $$.

Beautiful hotel in a great location on the UWS. Great service, friendly staff. We stayed in a family suite which was quite sizable with great windows and light. Nicely appointed and very comfortable.

Poor service at front desk, rooms really small, few breakfast options

Pretty good. Good location. However The rooms are tiny, I had no real natural light looking into the courtyard or more like others rooms, and the shower was a bit old/mildewy. Fine for a short stay and the staff are friendly.

I liked the room and the view and the decor. Didn’t like the noisy water pipes and neighbors

Cool old hotel in a great location - away from the madness of midtown. Hallway was a bit noisy as i was close to the elevator. Will stay again but request a room further down the hall.

This property was so convenient and comfortable. All of the staff was so sweet and helpful.

Good location and we loved our room, great view but our neighbors were very noisy three days in a row. The last time I called the front desk 4-5 times and no one ever answered. It was 1:00am. I even called the main number, no one. I finally went and banged on their door they finally quieted down. The lobby gets crowded in the morning with people that are trying to get into the pastry cafe connected. Not good, they sit on the benches and leave their garbage. The door man was present the first few days then never appeared again. I saw one person go into their room and I discovered he lived there, what I saw was a hoarder situation. Not good.

We stayed 6 days and 5 nights in Premium King room with a corner view. Lovely boutique hotel in very convenient spot for subway access. Neighborhood feel of UWS made it less touristy and offered easy access to things like CVS, UPS, restaurants, and a real-world feel. Cafe next door provided delish French pastries and coffees each morning so loved the “coupon” for that. Biggest disappointment was no fridge for cold drinks/restaurant leftovers/snacks since we were there for a longer stay. Also, the room was always damp-ish—like we were in Florida? Yet not too humid weather so not sure why other than an old building. Staff was outstandingly kind and personable throughout our stay. We really enjoyed our first time in the UWS and would definitely go back to the Belleclaire when we head out there again.

Wonderful boutique hotel offering lovely rooms. We were upgraded to a suite and couldn’t have been more pleased. No real closet but in an older building sometimes that happens. Very quiet. We were facing the street but with the windows used it was very relaxing. Would visit again! Very close to subway.

Small room. But clean and great location.

Well positioned. Received vouchers for breakfast but with long queues preferred a nearby Pain quotidien. Vouchers can be used for dinner as well. Small room but ok for NY standards

An average property, with staff that are not willing to help, I cannot believe this is a VIP property, they told me that they don’t do free upgrades so they do not comply with the program, nor the late checkout. When I arrive to my very very small room there was no wine bottle so si had to call and ask for it. We where never recognized as VIP in Expedia, how can this hotel be recommended by the program?

Lovely hotel in a good location, but not exactly excellent value for money.

Not the most sound proof rooms, however this is a nice place with a friendly, professional staff and operation.

They have managed to introduce modern service standards and friendliness into a classic New York hotel. The room was good. The location nearto the subway means you can travel to it from the airport ok and travel into the city easily. It's within easy walking distance of central park too.
10.0
The hotel staff were helpful and welcoming when we arrived and throughout our stay.
The room was excellent - a huge, comfortable bed and well-provisioned bathroom and a walk-in closet with safe.
Breakfast at the adjoining Cafe was straightforward and perfectly adequate to set us up for the day.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink within easy walking distance, especially on Amsterdam Avenue, and there’s even a Banksy to see on the way.
Location is quiet and safe and a great base for Central Park and any of the main Museums. If you want to go further afield, the subway is just up the road. (We managed the transit from JFK terminal to hotel in under an hour and for about $12 via the Air Train, LIRR and subway).
We will definitely return if we’re lucky enough to visit NYC again.

The Upper West Side is a more residential area and is a very different experience than downtown,Times Sq etc etc. But the Hotels are also very limited. This being said, The Belleclaire is an older hotel. The rooms are avg size, narrow corridors etc etc. Just what you expect in NYC
The rooms are clean and
Comfortable. Breakfast is a coupon for a bakery next door. Expect helter skelter lineups there. Our room had a strong cigarette smell I suspect came
From a neighboring room. All
In all….. avg stay
